  1. What did Sion Sono do? Also, not surprised about Go Ayano. Dude has been linked to girls way younger than him for years now. Already knew he was a creep when he started dating Ai Hashimoto
  2. As others stated, perhaps she didn't do it because it doesn't align with her believes or because she had no one idea about it. Traditionally this is also done towards elders who you respect such as parents (for example). Bowing like this towards an audience or fans isn't something that should be a must, they are complete strangers. This kind of thing shouldn't warrant outrage, it's not like she did anything extremely bad or disrespectful. Some people would probably also love for her to bow down and disrepect her own countries customs because she's Chinese. Feels like nationalist entitlement that stems from a negative view of the Chinese.
  3. I used to like the show a lot and then they had her hook up with a dude. Stopped watching right there. Anyone writing a character like that or claiming that lesbians could like penis should gtfo
  4. And yet she chose to be part of that offensive ass movie.
  5. I am Dutch as well and the Black Pete situation has nothing to do with CA. Its not comparable to someone wearing something from another culture.
  6. Western Kpop fans culturally appropriating Korean culture (or other Asian cultures): Also Kpop fans: Context and history is everything and people seem to think the entire world revolves around America. Gendered language, cultural-appropriation, whole left vs right thing, etc... is so US central. Even if people wear something from a different culture out of respect or because they don't know any better gets people dragged by the 'holier than thou squad'. And most of those people haven't ever read a sociological study in their 19 years of life, just quick posts on Twitter that won't change a thing.
  7. As a lesbian I can only feel disappointment when reading this news.
  8. Yep. Japanese female Idols will always be targeted at men. Even an idol like Okada Nana who seems pretty serious is using it in her advantage. After her coming out it's been her entire persona and she often makes things pseudo or just plain sexual. She get shipped with her bff Yuiri and it's obvious that Yuiri was uncomfortable with it at first. She's gotten used to it now and their ship has made both (and definitely Yuiri) more popular than ever before. That's why I never take any kind of fanservice serious with kpop and jpop idols. Go date a woman openly after you graduate and then we talk.
  9. 90% of the time idols only say this shit to appeal to male fans. When they tend to be this "open" about it, and with that I mean by making it pseudo-sexual, It's usually directed at men. Most gay women wouldn't say stuff like this, especially in a country like Japan where a lot of people are still closeted and lesbianism is very much sexualized or seen as temporary.
  10. Loads of celebrities have narcisistic traits. They join the industry because they want people to kiss the ground they walk on. And if it wasn't the reason as to why they became a celebrity, then it might consume them sooner or later anyway. If you're constantly surrounded by yes people who do everything you want so they can stay your friend or keep working with you, then one day you might take it too far without fully realizing it. People who work for celebrities are easily replaced. Working in hair and makeup is extremely competitive and there is always someone ready to take your place. Most stylists would take the abuse and not do anything out of fear for losing their jobs. This woman stood up to Irene and SMent while fully knowing that this could be the end of her career. That takes a lot of guts.
  11. Non-binary is a regressive label that's based on old gender stereotypes. It's also bullshit. It's a lot more progressive to do and wear whatever the hell you want while indentifying as the biological sex you were born as. Gender (masculinity and femininity) is socially constructed so if people use that as an indicator on what sex people identify as then that's just falling back on age old stereotypes. The non binary crowd thinks they are progressive while its all regressive as hell. Wish we could go back to the 90s when people would just say they are androgynous and be done with it. Now you have this bullshit. No wonder why so many gay men and lesbian women get gender-dysphoria nowadays. This world is fucked.
  12. Some Kdrama episodes are filmed weeks in advance. And if a film doesn't have too many complications when it comes to cutting, editing, etc... then it shouldn't take too long either.
  13. Yeah. Besides, she was the ''maknae'' of the group. Being the innocent one was kind of the image she was given.
  14. Believe them over some of the evidence that was presented at court? The dude headbutted her and lied about it. What kind of person cuts their finger and writes with blood on the wall? Him and his team are looking like fools because he can't answer half of the questions being asked by the judge. Even if he's innocent like a lot of people claim he is, he is sure making a mess of the trial. Lying about using drugs. Using a false witness statement. Not being able to answer simple questions. And his past relationships testifying on his behalf as character witnesses don't mean shit. Especially if he's been more prone to alcohol and drug abuse in the more recent years. That stuff can change you. And didn't he stop them from testifying? Or did I read that incorrectly? I'm not saying any of this to shift the blame away from Heard or because I am on her side, I just think that people need to look at the entire case and the evidence presented and come to the realization that both of them are trash. Hell, even in the tape that got released where Heard was screaming at Depp he somewhat admitted to hurting her in the past. Also, remember that this was a audio recording that HE recorded and put up as evidence. He knew that it might be used someday so he stayed mostly quiet and didn't try to incriminate himself. Seems most people don't even realize this.
  15. Actually, HYS wasn't mentioned in the original blind item. That one was just about SYJ pursuing Yuri. Later HYS got added into the equation and that always felt a little off to me, too fanfic if you will. Sure, she had some drama going on at the time, but that could have been totally unrelated. It's still a blind item and they need to be taken with a grain of salt, especially if they are rather outrageous. Bisexuality is a thing, there just isn't any evidence that points towards HYS lovin' the ladies. There is enough evidence out there that SYJ is at least bisexual and Yuri seems pretty suspicious as well with the whole Juran thing. Don't want to rain on anyone's parade. There is just nothing about HYS that screams gay to me. Hell, she even has T for Teddy tattoo'd onto her body.
  16. I can't tell whether Irene is gay or straight, because no one can, but there does seem a disinterest towards the men around her. This could be because of different things. - Maybe gay - She's considered one of the prettiest faces in kpop and showing any kind of interest in men or male idol members could lead to some pretty bad backlash. - She's had a lot of male attention in her lifetime and it doesn't phase her anymore. - In a relationship and is very loyal - Has had some pretty bad experiences with men, which isn't far fetched with how creepy men can be online or when they encounter their favorite idol irl. Not to mention how fucked up the entertainment world is. The amount of famous idols and actors who get caught doing shit is way too damn high. Just imagine how many might be creepers on the down low.
  17. Amber Heard seems like a really toxic person to be in a relationship with. Very abusive and unstable. Definitely some narcisism there. That said, past week several things came up that pointed towards Depp being abusive towards her as well. Both of them are major shit heads. I don't like the narrative nowadays that Heard is the only one at fault, because Depp is an abusive druggie and not some innocent bystander. Check all the info being released about the court case and not just the headlines. Some things being released about Depp are fucked up and he constantly claims that he doesn't remember stuff. Either because: 1. He was on drugs and alcohol and can't remember. 2. Is bullshitting. Both are trash and I am not gonna side with either party.
  18. Was cute before as well. Obviously got PS though.
  19. And yet you have women proclaim that "sex-work" is somehow "empowering". All these women fighting for that notion to be true while men only look at these women as objects and something to get their dicks wet.
  20. A lot of her fans are older men and you know how crazy some Japanese fans get when it comes to their idols. It does make a lot of sense that the gifts are this outrageous because this could never have happened if she was still only part of HKT. They can't accept these kinds of presents. The crazy fans must be happy that they can finally show their real appreciation by spending a lot of $. Though it must be awkward accepting all these gifts, nothing is ever free.
  21. It's stupid that they always put Yurina as the center because she's basically the only one the general public know. Who the hell would they put center now? Who has the charisma? Not many in Keyaki, that's for sure.
  22. Fucking hell. He's trash. Japanese men seem to have a thing for youthful looking girls so of course it's with a woman who's so much younger and still look like a kid. No surprise there. And their marriage was also an included PR move for him because he was just starting out when he met her. The marriage elevated him to new heights. Hopefully this will ruin his career but I don't see that happening. The other woman's career is most likely dead though.
  23. If a bisexual is in a straight relationship then I truly don't give a damn. There is a thing called heterosexual privilege and a lot of bisexual people date the opposite sex because of it, especially in countries such as Korea. This is a thread where we discuss the likelihood of idols being into women and yeah... there are bisexuals out there, no one is disputing that, but if they are connected to a man then I truly don't feel the need to discuss them in a thread like this where we focus on woman x woman. And no one is erasing bisexuals, if a bisexual woman is dating a man then she's in a heterosexual relationship. Yeah, the woman is still bi, but women who make a huge point of being bi even though they've only been connected to men are a bit annoying(to me). To the world you're in a heterosexual relationship, you're not gonna be discriminated or looked down upon because of it. Same for people who claim that them being asexual somehow means they are oppressed while no one would even freaking know if you are one. This is just my opinion though, I am sure some people think differently. Without a coming out I wouldn't call anyone bisexual if they are dating a man, and with idols it's mostly just speculation anyway, so it makes it even less likely because you have no idea how they truly are when the cameras are turned off.
