^Which is why those folks who insist that the decision was most likely business-influenced sound incredibly dumb to me. Not only is 2NE1 YG's 2nd biggest digital sellers, Bom ALONE can outsell any other YG artist not named BIGBANG or GD.

 

Really, had there been no precedents or past instances of YG showing that he cared for 2NE1 far lesser than he did for his boys, I don't think anyone would readily assume that YG just did not give a fuck anymore and decided to end 2NE1 on a whim. But there were precedents. THEY FUCKING EXISTED, and are ingrained in the minds of the fans. From YG calling the girls ugly, limiting their opportunities, denying CL the freedom to write and compose her own music (she had to fight for that right!), not doing enough to protect and deliver Bom from the nastiness of Korean netizens who witch-hunted her for years due to a drug scandal that has been cleared in court in 2010; just the tip of the iceberg.

Oh please! YG stopped caring about 2NE1 waaaaay before BP. Wasn't 2NE1 created as a side project or something like that? I remember the "female bigbang" also. Doesn't that tell you all something?

And yes, I think there could be a tiny possibility it's the same thing with BP. Maybe they do are a side project like 2NE1...(idk, tasting the waters with BP perhaps) But still, that does not mean it's their fault. At the end of the day, it's gonna always be YG's crappy management techniques fault.

If they really wanted a disbandment, why is she reacting like this? She shouldn't look this sad if that's true. 

I'm just not buying it, I don't see Dara not wanting to be part of the group anymore.

I just wish we could do something more than a hashtag. I don't know, something bigger. 

I just came here to say that I'm gonna miss them a lot. I found them 6 years ago, first Bigbang, later 2NE1. I fell in love with them instantly. They also helped me in many sad moments. In 2010 (the year I found them) I was very insecure about myself and had social anxiety problems. But their music made me feel powerful and strong. Everytime I felt weak and small, I just listened to them. So #ThankYou2NE1 for sticking with me all these years and making me the strong female I am now.

I am very sad right now but I'm gonna try my best to see the good things this could bring. Minzy could finally make her solo and Bom is gonna be treated better than YG ever could (If he ever did, in the first place). For CL and Dara, I just wish they get out from there some day...

Thank you blackjacks for everything you all did for the girls. It was very fun being part of this fandom and I'm so proud to be a Blackjack. I'll never forget all these years I got to spend with you blackjacks and with the girls. Stay strong everybody.

Honestly I don't see any future to her without 2NE1. sorry not sorry I doubt some company is going to sign her, maybe the flop ones but it would be so strange exit YG to sign with some nugu company. What about her promos? It won't be on her level because she is/was part of a TOP TIER group. She deserves top treatment but I don't think another company would give it to her like YG did.

Unless she wants to quit being a celebrity I'd understand that...

 

Yes I blame YG for putting Minzy in the shadow of the other members all these years but I also blame the public for not caring about her.

I would love to see the news: 'After long talking with YGE, Minzy decides to renew her contract for more two years. Gearing up for a comeback with 2NE1'. There's 3 weeks for her to think about it.

I doubt she'll renew. If I was her I wouldn't either. It takes a lot of thinking process to leave a company like YG. If she at the end decided to go I think that means she's completely sure of her decision.

what if another company (HIGH GRND, Teddy etc) signs her for her solo activities but then she decides to still be a part of 2NE1 despite not being on the same label?

 

my delulu mind is telling me this is possible but knowing YG, he probably would have made a rule that Minzy is not to join the girls unless under the YG label... so sad how bad management has torn the group apart

Two things I wanna say 'cause I have no friends who are bjs to vent to:

1. I don't care if CL's US debut album is a success or not, I only care about the quality. Also, I don't think her US debut is gonna even affect the comeback whatsoever, unless it gets delayed. So she definitely should debut already.

She probably already has one, I can't imagine her leaving with no where to go. I know she would probably get snapped up instantly but its quite the risk to take.

Damn, this is so sad. It sucks but I hope she does have already one. Tbh i want her to show everyone what she got. That way I'll (and I hope most bjs) accept better all of this and support her and the girls.
