I don't get people. If the shooting of children did not make people re-examine gun culture, why would any other mass shooting? At this point I'm honestly numb to mass shootings and I'm not the only one. Around here the conversation dabbed into whether the markets would be affected...

Americans seem to believe they are the only country that can do this... We don't even have freedom of the press and we still do it. Heck, In Kenya, criminals can now vote...

My week in NJ was great because NYC was close even though we only went three times. Nonetheless, I had forgotten how absolutely dull NJ is. Especially, Piscataway. Also drove home with my mom and I was like "Damn, mom, how far is your house?!" Florida has made me so lazy that driving to my aunt's house 30 minutes away is a bother... NYC though was lovely and visited the company building on wall street and the place was freaking great. My thirst was real. Plus, we went to a rooftop bar and it was just great. Even walking and getting lost was awesome. Also visited, my uni (Rutgers) and we bar hopped there which did redeem NJ a bit. On that note, I am clearly not happening. There was a lot of trap and I was lost but I still danced because that is what one does after three vodka and cokes. Ugh, I want to live in NYC though just not with my salary.

In my opinion, I find there isn't much difference except the naming of products and extensiveness of routines Like essences, ampoules, some hydrating toners, etc honestly are just serums here. What I find though is that Asians seem to know more about products in general than westerners. A lot of westerners switch to an "asian routine" and think that because they've switched to Asian products, their skin has become much better but I often find, it's that they've become more educated about products. I still use western products but I find with being more educated on skin care I've learned what products to use and why. I also note that, not a lot of Asians follow this "10 step routine" and many also simply don't just use Asian skin care. Also, in the west it varies by country. I find some western countries especially those in Europe have a different approach to skin care. PS. On that note, I am slowly jumping on the Asian skin care bandwagon. I was in China town on Wednesday but I'm a miser and even that $50 I spent had me wincing, but now I wish I had bought more. However, they had really marked up the prices. I also got distracted by The Ordinary since I found it in that shop and forgot I had come there for Asian skincare but I have been dying to use the ordinary. I still only bought one product cause miserlyness...

Do you have African parents? My mom realized I was a lost cause at 18. However, she has never discouraged me from being adventurous. I can safely say I like that about her. If I go travelling alone, she'll just ask me how it was. Then again, my sister and I have survived most of our lives on our own. She did officially stop stressing me out though when I was 21. I mean in highschool, she wouldn't even let me get dreadlocks...

Work flew me to NJ and we spent the weekend exploring NY. I'm pretty safe though. My aunt in FL has lost power though. My friend says she still has power but it's unlikely it will stay that way.

I did take planet earth and astronomy in college. Oh and oceanography in High School. It's funny but my friend experienced Matthew and was like "It's just a more violent storm." "I was like, you do know that's pretty much what a hurricane is right?" On that note, flights are really booked and traffic is getting crazy. Impossible to get gas at some places. People are leaving like this is The Last of Us.

Bought the new Bareminerals foundation, YSL lip stain gloss thingy (I hate lip gloss, but I really like this because it is one of the few lipsticks that wears down beautifully) and shiseido cotton (Expensive but I needed cotton and was in Sephora... Also bought a Mac lipstick but it disappeared somewhere. I can't find it and I don't even have a lot of makeup that it's lost within. It just grew legs. On this note, have not been wearing makeup much lately. My skin is pretty nice so I've toned down my makeup wearing.

I swear this is my mentality for everything. When I got a motorcycle, I was like but come on, what better way to go? I will say, people really romanticize skydiving, so go with low expectations and prepare for the harness to pinch like a bitch because it will and no one ever mentions that but you will be struck by the amazing view, yet feel pain or discomfort from that harness digging into your flesh. It can't be helped though, you go from falling like crazy to having a parachute jerk you back. On that note, it is still a new and fresh experience that I still itch to do on my own. I hope in the future, I'll be able to take the course to jump solo.

Well, the tandem isn't much of an adrenaline rush. It's a strange experience. I'd like to be a certified jumper one day and do solo jumps. If only I had the monies.

This really is actually what makes vacations with people very unenjoyable. You think you need to travel with people and then you remember the last time, all your sister did was complain about the shit you wanted to do. She wants to go clubbing while you prefer the outdoor adventures and she gave you a headache. I think I can only travel with my cousin as her and I tend to like the same stuff and we really have a lot of fun. Plus we're both independent. She's comfortable going her own way and meeting up afterwards. Last time, my fam went on vacation and I skipped out cause I could smell the conflict coming from a mile away. That vacation ruined relationships. This is 90% the reason I don't go to movies with people. The weird thing is people will not let you just watch your own movie and meet up afterwards. I am still mad that I paid $13 for some teenage movie that I knew I would hate.

This debate of whether anime/manga characters look white is hilarious. On that note, Afro Samurai is definitely black though. Which led me to reading about some black Africans who were in Japan during this time period and one even served under Oda Nobunaga...

I don't think it will die out as long as it keeps following American trends or something significant happens to Korea as a whole. What will happen is just that people will move on and other people will latch on.

Was watching Happy Together with them Produce kids and my gosh, I only recognize four of them. Was this really the top 11? On that note, Ong and Jisung have the potential to be on variety shows as the rest were boring or maybe it's just that I have become jaded by idol groups and their generic answers to everything.
