I’m alive. How are you?
I've been enjoying life. However, since I have to study for some certifications, on vacation doing my last hurrah and then back to the books.
I feel I lowkey come here to reminisce on the old days when I had no responsibilities or life pursuits. Since I always posted random shit from the get go, no k-pop morning for me.

Hey. It's Stormbreaker. I barely posted in this thread back in the day but just wanted to say hello to anyone in case any of the OG members from the 6theory/Hallyu8 days are still active here from time to time. Like chocomaro/Lord Seungri, Craver, Stu/Buns, Ninja, Kalexis/..., Tee, mgl, Plastic, Myth, Nanana/Documentaly, etc. Sorry if I didn't include your name in the list. I highly doubt anyone is still here because OH is a wasteland now but it doesn't hurt to try.
Hell, a tiny part of me even misses Regina, Sand, Kon(phuzed), Kami, and the rest of that ilk.
Hope life is treating y'all well. I look back fondly on the peak k-pop days of 2009-2011/2.
Adios~

Damn, this is taking it back. I just realized it's been like nine or ten years. I just remembered Kon. That dude was way too old even then for K-pop.

Hello Fanturd, randomly wondered if folks were still alive.
On that note, seeing how some of you folks were reminiscing on some groups disbanding was truly my "wow, I genuinely never cared about k-pop" moment. I should donate my points and close my account but It's kind of interesting to pop in here once in a while.
I don't know what it is but I honestly don't even watch variety shows anymore.

I was wondering where this thread was.

Eh the house is closer to how the electoral college works than the senate.
I just remembered the cat in my dp has been dead for months now. It's kind of depressing how both my dp and my sig involve dead things
I wouldn't say so as the electoral college is decided on votes. Whoever wins the state vote wins the electoral vote which I think is more similar to the senate race. Isn't the house based on districts?
-
So many seats switched to Democrat though?
Senate became redder though. To me that was the indication that Trump is getting a second term. Florida stayed red and The Republicans won or ran a very close race with a smaller budget. Dems are not getting FL in 2020 unless Trump punts a baby on national television. Unless he gets impeached, definitely a second term.
On another note, can k-pop get its own identity because I’m at the Korean restaurant and they normally don’t play Korean songs but are doing so today and I thought Gallant was playing for a second.
I wonder if other music scenes around the world also follow American trends because when I was in Kenya, I noticed I barely heard American songs in clubs. Trap and hip hop was also never played. Bongo is what is reigning in East Africa along with Nigerian songs.

I learned from this election that Trump is definitely getting re-elected.

I am off to vote and I am absolutely not sure what I am voting for after the 5th amendment. A lot of unrelated issues are bundled together so for instance
Amendment 6
The Constitution Revision Commission bundled together three separate issues in Amendment 6. It would:• Expand the scope of victims' rights under the Florida Constitution
• Raise the mandatory retirement age of Florida judges, including Supreme Court justices, from 70 to 75.
• Prohibit state courts from deferring to an administrative agency's interpretation of a state statute or rule.

Yall americans better fucking vote tho
and finally DSP! APril is looking like a group that came from Kara and Rainbow
I am off to the local church. Reading about what some of this shit means because I have been bombarded with propaganda.

HOLY SHIT, A GAY MOVIE FROM KENYA? *Looks outside worried.* Time to get a zombie kit. Honestly Kenya is FUCKING HORRIBLE WITH LGBT RIGHTS.
This movie though is fully Kenyan. Actual Kenyan accents (cause hollywood...
)I am lowkey proud. Trailer was too real though.

I can never decide if Kpop idols are talented or not. I mean if someone had trained me to sing and dance for like 6 years starting from age 10. I better dance like Les Twins and sing like Deborah Cox.

Wondering what the hell Japan’s laws do. Reading about Japanese serial killers and it’s like “He attempted to murder a child and received a two year sentence.â€
This is after a two year sentence for Molesting 8 children.
You get a harsher sentence for weed... like brah...

My aunt posted on WhatsApp that there would be a Kenyan musical coming to broadway. I YouTubed it and barely found anything except the video below. Eric Wainaina talks and then turns and asks the band if they are excited and I notice two of my friends are part of the band. I texted one of them like “Are you in a musical with Eric Wainaina?†He’s like yup. “Are you coming to New York?â€
Turns out my friend is part of the band with Eric Wainaina that will be doing a Kenyan musical in NYC!

Down the Soul train rabbit hole I go. You know Rick James made great music. Also everyone had banging bodies and the fros!

China already did a produce 101 thing,And they made a group called Rocket Girls with some WSJN members.
The trainees in China are all backed by massive enterprises, and sometimes Those at the top throw some of the stupidest hissy fits, like wang sicong did.And all these labels infighting threatening lawsuits behind the scenes over pay distribution would be a nightmare and the C trainees would probably suffer a racial backlash over their label's antics
I don't think it will work .
Fangirls will still vote for the ones they want in final lineup anyway. And Those trainees would already be at a setback, for being Non Korean, and you'll probably get 3/13 ratio of success anyway
Now if its to form a Boy group, than it's possible.
Though the question still lingers over if those trainees are coming from China's enterprises or HK/TW labels.
It worked for some Non Korean idols like Somi because they were backed by a Korean label.
Since the show is in Korea, guaranteed no one knows any of this. Also, pretty sure whoever sponsors this show can go have a couple of drinks with some Chinese folks and talk about the earning and fanning potential. Also labels in lawsuits due to pay sounds very familiar. Korean idols who are not at the top are horribly paid anyway and many are indebted to their company because for the longest time, I didn't know training wasn't free.
It sounds to me like the work culture is exactly the same.

The next Produce should include China/Taiwan/Hongkong.
-
The last Produce lineup had me scratching my head. I haven’t been rooting for Gaeun but that she didn’t make it is suspect.
-
Florida voted Gillum. Ugh, that means they are going to keep sending me his shit.
-
I actually want kpop to collapse worldwide, become more generic than before and fandoms have become worst.
Oops I negged you. Should have probably realized the basilisk couldn't be anything positive but I was on Lord Voldemort's side.

Started watching variety shows in what feels like FOREVER. I am legitimately shocked Super Junior is still around. I literally did not recognize any of the other bands on Men on A Mission and then I realized, I had become old. Some of these bands are apparently global and the most watched on youtube and I clearly live in my own bubble. (Maybe because I decided to focus on my life, I really feel like I have no idea what's going on.)
The band I really didn't recognize was Winner and I watched their trashy variety show but my gosh, they looked tragic and sad.
I'm starting to wonder what happened to the old bands? Did everyone disband. Gosh, is Brown Eyed Soul even around? *googles*
BES is still around!!

Long story short, Mnet plays favorites and she is not their favorite. Their favorites are Ahn Yujin, Jang Wonyoung, Kim Minju and others that have now been eliminated.
Kang Hyewon is not popular for her skills or stages, but for her personality, she got attention as the sacrificial daughter/sister when she let go of her innocent pop girl image to take a rapper role to save the group. It’s not only Korea, she is popular among Chinese and Japanese fans who watch this show too, and for the same reason. Speaking of which, Japanese fans hate the Japanese trainees.
Park Haeyoon is her name but she barely survived the elemination. She is apparently popular with Korean moms who see her as an ideal match for their sons.
Her rapping was really not good though but whatever. She is pretty unpopular among International fans. Wonder why Japanese fans hate their trainees maybe because we’re used to K-pop, I find them refreshing. Some them are mediocre but considering their lack of training, a good portion are way better than some of the Korean trainees. On that note, this is more a beauty contest. Also number 4 literally has shown no improvement singing wise. Hopefully, Eunbi and Chowon make it. Chaewon might but no one cares about talent when it comes to the finals.

Damn, there was a mad shooting downtown where I live. Kind of getting tired of American craziness.

She is back on top in the midweek rankings. Her fandom was really scared at what they got so they started voting again like crazy.
She must have refused to suck someone’s Dick at M-net because it’s not like I’m a ride or die fan but the production team seriously disregards her. I was wondering last episode who in heaven’s name she offended because you don’t even like see her in the background. Even when she’s filmed with other girls, you will see like the back of her head or side profile. She is also 100% not going to be top 12. I will be shocked if she makes it!
On that note, the girl ranked fourth whose name I can’t remember now is the biggest mistery. I won’t claim to understand Korea’s standard of beauty but I just don’t get it. She doesn’t even have the stage presence to make me think she can make it.
They should at least let in that Korean chick who can sing and belt like crazy (The one with the short hair) because currently the top 12 has like two passable singers.
Damn, the way I’m invested in this you would think I was a potential Stan but I legitimately forgot the members of season 2. To be fair, could not remember half the people that made it yet I remember Noh Tae Hyun and Samuel. Noh Tae Hyun is the best idol dancing I’ve seen.

I went Miami for a week and now that I'm back in RI, I wanna go back to Miami. I hate my job and I had no trouble sleeping down there than I do in my own room
Since I line in FL it’s a short distance but I’ve never been. Last year, I went to Tampa for a solo vacation. I have to go to Miami in December though.

As an OG of this thread nice to see this thread is still thriving. Not even going to lie, barely kept up with football for the last two years and since Chelsea is sucking and I have no time anyway, the incentive hasn't been strong. I have become those people who only tune in for the World Cup.
