HIGHLIGHT is a 5-member K-Pop group under Around Us Entertainment. The group was previously known as BEAST who debuted as 6 members on October 16, 2009 under Cube Entertainment. The group was composed of Yoon Doojoon, Jang Hyunseung, Yong Junhyung, Yang Yoseob, Lee Kikwang, Son Dongwoon. The group was initially known as a 'recycled' group for having members failing to succeed in debuting in their previous agencies but proved their worth after churning hits one after another throughout their career. The group's most notable achievement was in 2011 with their 1st studio album, Fiction & Fact, and it's representative title track 'Fiction' as well as the single 'On Rainy Days' which catapulted them to top tier status among boy groups that time. Fiction was able to clinch the 2011 KBS Song of the Year Award (daesang). They've received 2 Artists of the Year awards (daesang) during Melon Music Awards consecutively in 2011 & 2012. In April 2016, member Jang Hyunseung left the group due to musical differences. Shortly after, the group released HIGHLIGHT, their first album as 5 members and what would be their last album as BEAST. When their 7 year contract with Cube Entertainment expired on October the same year, the group decided not to renew and left the label. On December 16, 2016, the group launched their own label, Around Us Entertainment, and officially announced it through Naver's VApp. The group went through negotiations with Cube to obtain the rights to use the name BEAST which has been already trademarked but such efforts were futile. Finally, the group reached a hard decision to give up on using the name BEAST and just change their name so as not to make fans wait any longer.
