Thank you for the suggestion! I want to start branching out as well, but I just really enjoy anything that has at least some romantic elements to it. However, I like anything artistically and beautifully written so I'll definitely keep those in mind. Also, I'm not a big fan of sports but I read the premise of Free and I feel like I'll really enjoy it. I'm not a big fan of horror but I heard a lot about Tokyo Ghoul and I'll try and see if I like it eventually. Thank you so much for your thoughtful suggestion! I really appreciate it, especially since I have so many more options now than I had before. I absolutely love angst, not in a sadistic type of way but when the drama tugs on your heartstrings, it really makes me enjoy the drama more because I have a connection with the story itself. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hey everyone! So I'm a new anime fan and began my journey by watching Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (Your Lie in April) and enjoyed that quite a bit. Afterwards, I began to watch Toradora, which I found from a quick Google search on the best romance anime of all time, and really enjoyed it as well. It was a bit random in some places, but it was definitely something I liked. For those who have never heard of or seen these anime before, Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso is a melodrama, with a really nice soundtrack. Toradora is a more playful type of anime with two characters that are an unlikely pair but end up falling in love and everything is very humorous and the soundtrack is nice as well. As you can probably tell, I'm a sucker for good soundtracks and romance. After watching Toradora, I really wanted to see more anime that contained a similar concept- an unlikely pairing that falls in love. I'd prefer recommendations that are similar to Toradora, but feel free to let me know about any ones that are more similar to Your Lie in April too, I would love to hear all of your suggestions, especially if you are experienced with anime. I have a few picked out that I've seen online that are similar to Toradora, the first one being: Lovely Complex. It has fairly good reviews on MAL 《 https://myanimelist.net/anime/2034/Lovely★Complex》but there are a few reviews that make me reconsider if it is truly worth the watch. I know that bad reviews are present no matter what you look at, but I don't have any friends who are knowledgable on animes and I thought that OH would be the best place to turn to. Another one I have picked out is Clannad. I've listened to the soundtrack to Clannad After Story a few times on Youtube, simply because it is so beautiful. However, the two anime themselves don't pop out to me like Lovely Complex does. Yet it is an option because I may be underestimating them. So, if you've made it this far: thank you for sticking by and all that's left to ask is: What are some romance anime similar to Toradora? Is Lovely Complex worth the watch? Is Clannad worth the watch? What are your all time favorite romance anime that contain an unlikely pairing? And, if there are any more, what about anime movies? I'm planning to watch Your Name. Thanks if you help!

I love Passacaglia by Handel-Halvorsen! I don't know if it's the descending notes or the melancholy feel to the song but it really makes me press the reply button over and over again haha! And although this is not the original, this cover is something I really like to listen to:

Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (Your Lie in April) In all honesty I would rate it a 6/10. It's not my favorite, although I haven't seen a lot of animes. The plot is amazing though and I love the soundtrack so it's definitely not bad. The only downside is the pacing and the random bursts of humor that ruin the moment. I would definitely recommend it though! Has anyone else seen this? It's available on Netflix and probably Crunchyroll.
