  1. ATTENTION MOOS A brand new Mamamoo website made by moos for moos is up and running! Huge thanks to @ThecoMoo! It's a safe space, the site is efficient and looks amazing! Spread the word and join in! thecomoounity.com
  2. Yes, thanks. I tried accessing it through the old Mamamoo-trans site like normal, but the site is down obv. I'll bookmark this.
  3. off topic, but does anyone know the new website for all the Mamamoo-trans stuff? i thought MooMoo subs was taking over the spread sheet, but i haven't been able to track it down yet.
  4. Now this is a look. I hope we see more of this Moonbyul during Red Star. Also, I don't think it will last much longer, but I'm really loving MB's orange sherbet hair. Selfish was almost a love letter to this hair color since it goes so well with pastels, and neons. She's had a warmer glow with it and has been bolder with her fashion and make-up during this time; her red lip in the Sorry cover was so pretty. The freshly dyed orange wasn't bad, but for me the faded orange hair is so much better.
  5. RBW seems more like an artist collective than a straight production company. They put their energy and devotion into the music, and while they have fun with teasers and MMMTV, marketing is not their passion. It is difficult to make an artist focus on something boring to them, and at the same time, they don't want to hire someone to do the job for them if it means giving up their creative freedom. RBW definitely has different priorities than the Big 3, but I don't think that's a bad thing. I think they have way more strengths than weaknesses and don't get enough credit for them.
  6. Top 3 Guilty Pleasures My guilty pleasure is reading the comments from other fandoms remarking on the relationship between MMM and moomoos to allow for a performance like this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyII01oBHBE&t=0s&list=PLRhUBcmhtWL9NO3o55V5rByVIMyalYNSX&index=27 My guilty pleasure is still finding Mamamoo performances I haven't seen before, and comparing Mamamoo's covers to the original versions of the songs, so this was a 2 for 1 Its my pleasure to listen to this song anyways, but my guilty pleasure is reading the stream of conscientious style subs.
  7. the latest MMMTV episodes have got me wishing for a kids edutainment show called "Solar Interacts with Herbivores (and other harmless animals)" That girl has so many facial expressions and we're the only ones who know about them. She can host the show and invite other idols to come since there are a lot of people nervous around animals. i think it could be a hit.
  8. Now i get why Hwasa is spring. I didn't get it at first because i associate spring with baby animals and flowers and pastel colors, but this video and the lyrics show that Hwasa is the aspect of spring that includes waking up after a cold winter and finding things in life to make you want to live again. Sort of the Persephone myth version of spring.
  9. aka that's what their mysterious hand signs mean, right? except in reverse standing order
  10. its a simple concept but i can't help but giggle along with the devious Moonbyul
  11. I first learned about Mamamoo through this performance. I still watch it a lot because its one of the most purely joyful performances i've ever seen. Same on the Olympics background music. TFW Short Hair and Dance in the Rhythm start playing I didn't realize how much Mamamoo was expanding my musical knowledge.
  12. Has anyone ever seen any interviews of the instrumentalists who work with Mamamoo? Either for IS2 performances, Sketchbook/JYP Party type shows, or their award show performances where they used orchestral accompaniment? I'd imagine a Mamamoo gig would be fun, but i've never seen anything from the musician's perspective. I often think about their first IS2 performance where they just explode out of the original song, or their second on where they go through several types of latin music but make it one cohesive song and wonder what the musicians thought of the rookie girl group who would be singing in front of them. I've seen the reactions on 1totheK but i'd like a first hand account if its out there.
  13. Isn't it from Man with a Yellow Shirt? eta ... great minds...
  14. I too would appreciate the perspective of someone who understands big businesses. The article sounds like the growth and investment money is a good thing, but I don't want what happened at Fantagio to happen to RBW. Also, I hope they get some good accountants and manage it well. We don't need any company scandals or money issues affecting our girls. The K-pop industry has a lot of examples of companies getting it wrong, and its the artists who suffer for it.
  15. I've been having a weekend steeped in Mamamoo, and I thought about their last IS2 performance. It wasn't one of my initial favorites out of the gate, but so many of their songs improve with more listens, so I thought I would try to find the original version and give the Mamamoo version another try. Here's the original: I think whats most notable about Kim Wan-sun's version is how exuberant she is on stage. She may not have been blessed with Mamamoo's vocal talent, but she's clearly enjoying herself, and that transfers to the audience. In this, I can see parallels to Mamamoo who play well on stage. In the IS2 version, the song is more refined while still being able to hear the original in it. The backtrack is more subtle, they've added interesting harmonies, changed the structure of the song with several rap verses, and modulated the key for the ending. They still connect to the audience but they are not playing on stage in the same way they did for other IS2 performances like Flying into the night sky, or You in my fading memory. I know it is a highlight for many, but I think they could have left out the drumline/dancebreak since it doesn't gel with the feel of the rest of the song. It referenced the rock drums of the original, but personally don't feel that it added to this particular song. Looking at it again and taking into account the tweets and articles about growing as artists, I think this performance should be included as part of their transitional growth period. Perhaps this song was chosen because they too could see parallels between the playful original version and their early stages and how they could make their new version show their growth as artists.
  16. I know Mamamoo dresses warmer than many girl groups out there, and their stylist is generally spot on, but I wish the fans still designed some of their stage outfits so we could make sure they are out there, properly bundled up. I bet there are going to be a lot of outdoor promotions for Coca-Cola, and the Olympics; lets hope they stay healthy and warm.
