KTL might take the lead in 24 hours views this week
-
Which means, it's running in circles trying to discuss that either.
Better off IMHO, banning *all* discussion whatsoever of how YT derives its numbers

Exactly. All conspiracy theories and lengthy discussions about how views are calculated should be another thread. This should just be about discussing views at point-blank.

So you basically say that in the entire kpop only bts have massive views deletion and the other groups just have “more casual listeners†so they get views added? I admit that bts has huge fanbase who stream the videos hard. But so does the second biggest fandom in kpop aka blinks. There is something happening either with YouTube or sty else, because there’s is no way among the two groups with pretty similar YouTube records one is gonna have 7m+ views added and the other have 10m+ deleted.
To the ones saying bp have more casual listeners look the number of likes. 5m+ likes? Do these likes also come from “casual listeners No, from the huge bp fanbase, who do also stream and like bp videos as hard as army’s do.
BP had over 1M likes deleted. Why are you guys acting like YouTube has something against BTS? If they deem something illegitimate they will remove it. What will satisfy you guys? If it's really that big of a deal stop caring about it. Isn't that was said last time?
I specifically remember reading Army saying they didn't care about youtube anymore because it was shady, yet here we are again, once again focusing on views and once again calling YouTube shady. If it's TRULY that important, then stop caring about it altogether.
I personally find it ridiculous to assume a large company like Google is going to have some personal vendetta against one specific artist and so blatantly delete views.
It's highly possible that with so many views incoming at one time, the counter miscounted and gave them too many views, and went back and filtered out any mistaken views. There are many possibilities. But "YouTube hates us and BTS and is sabotaging us" sounds ridiculous.
Eventually, you guys are going to make youtube pull a Gaon and stop revealing data altogether by continuing to harass them and question their methods. let it fucking go.

Hhhh exactly. You don’t get grammys for “youtube longevity†dhdhdhshs thats the lamest thing to focus on. Army’s move on to more important matters like Spotify..
There is no “lame†thing to focus on. This is the mentality now because it’s known BP has more casual listeners and it’s a losing battle.
Not to start anything, but this is nothing but a sore loser mentality. If BTS has better longevity than BP you would still think it’s the best thing since sliced bread.
BP will likely be the first group to achieve 1B views. You don’t think that’s an achievement that will be all over the news? It’s a great achievement for Kpop

It seems the views slowly down quite significantly past the first 12 hours. I do not think they'll easily surpass KTL in views. KTL might stay ahead at this rate (in overall views, not in terms of records).
-
Y’all talking about lazy. I watch a video once and then go to Spotify lmao.
Maybe this is why RBB is struggling to hit 50M

-
Probably going to be like last time where BTS takes the quick records (first 24 hours, etc.) but BP will keep the long-haul records. Their longevity every single comeback has been astounding

Unless there is a big removal of views on the live counter, other than that BP has it easily. Over 12 hours left for 6.3M views
A slay

Looks like the views caught up. At 93M now, was at 90M last time I checked which was less than an hour ago I think. I think it will beat the 100M record
-
The conspiracy theories I've seen... I have to laugh.
Hope they snatch the record though!

I think it's a sign of caring
we are too invested in this group that we can discuss over and over again their concept and song. What we think is better, if the concept is wrong or right, should they change or stay the same, pander to the gp or not etc. It's nice to see the forum so engage. We should take a vote

yeah tbh no one is bashing or anything. It's nice to have discussions sometimes rather than just spazzing over pictures

Anyways, excluding the usual suspects trying to shade TWICE.
As we were all saying, I don't mind if they do or don't switch concepts.
I honestly like the sound they are going with, but if OTR want's to try to give them a public hit
Then I can see if they tweak things a bit. Especially if they are looking out for the girls.
Considering when the girls all split in April 2021, there won't be fandom power behind the girls anymore
OTR might think "Well if you guys start having iconic hit songs, that will increase your chances when IZONE is over"
It wont be a guarantee but it will increase the odds. Just my two cents on that.
I do agree that this group shouldn't be pressured to be like Soshi because they aren't.
Many people have a hard time understanding that.
I was not pressuring them to be like Soshi, I was only countering the argument that changing concepts is bad for the fandom when in reality most of the time Korean fandoms like concept changes. I don't understand why there is a mentality that the group will divide the fandom by a concept change...

Iz*One changing up their concepts isn't going to affect them in the least, it's not like anyone knew what concept they were going to debut with but still everyone was ready to Stan regardless. Furthermore, I think the SNSD comparison is just. Likewise you can even compare them to RedVelvet or Chungha. It doesn't matter what era we are in or how long is Iz*One contract.
The point isn't to pull a CLC where they drastically go from Innocent to girl crush at the drop of the hat (Iz*One concept remains in a middle ground which is perfect for easing into other concepts), but to not have comebacks so similar to each other back to back.
From the flower concept, to the elegant dresses, even the chorus structure is the same where it feels they just swapped out "La Vie En Rose" for "No nae Violeta" and then the beat drops.
When LVER came out it was fresh and I couldn't get enough of it, leaving me thirsting for what they'd do next, only for OTR to come and do this. Repeat the exact same thing over again.
Even if they wanted to strictly maintain the elegant concept, there are so many creative ways they could have gone about.
And don't get me wrong, I don't think Violeta is bad, if it was their debut I would probably be over the moon, but as a follow-up to LVER it doesn't add anything new for me that LVER didn't already exceed at.
But I am going to give them one more Korean comeback though to place my final verdict.
Exactly my view.
People actually thinking "They only have 2.5 years" is a way to justify having the same concept when in reality its the opposite. They ONLY have 2.5 years to leave a lasting impression on the public in a way that trickles into their follow up groups. They ONLY have 2.5 years to show what they're capable of. They ONLY have 2.5 years to prove that they're more than just hype.
Do you guys honestly want them to spend their ONLY possible time promoting as a group, promoting the same concept? You guys don't want to see hear different sounds, see different looks, get different feels? We only have 2.5 years to appreciate IZ*ONE, and I for one do not want them to serve LVER remakes for the entirety of their contracts. That is such a waste of the talent this group has.
They can do many concepts that fit the members and aren't too revealing for the younger members such as:
(Concepts, not talking about the songs)
and SO many more
This is not about success, its about wanting them to show their full potential before their inevitable disbandment. I don't how its possible anyone would want to see only one side to IZ*ONE for their entire duration as a group. That is absurd to me.

SNSD did not do all the huge variation in concepts within 2 and half years. this is just the 1st korean comeback for izone, if they did a new concept and failed you guys will be saying they should have stick with the original concept
the comeback is successful and if you don't like the title there's other songs in the album that you might prefer. What? Into The New World, Baby Baby, Gee, Genie, etc. aren't variations in concepts?
I'm not saying they NEED to change concepts, I'm saying a change in concept will not kill the group or the fanbase like many people here are implying.

Eh, SNSD promoted in a much different time/industry. Concept ADHD was totally a thing that existed and people liked in the 2nd generation which is why SNSD could drastically change every comeback and be unaffected.
Times have changed though, now people tend to like groups to find their sound/style and iterate/build on that rather than have drastic concept/sound changes every time they comeback like SNSD would. Groups usually see much worse performance when they switch things up too drastically all of a sudden (ex. GFriend - Fingertip, Twice - Signal, etc...). And groups who tend to jump around drastically to different styles when one doesnt resonate never really get off the ground or build/hold onto a fanbase (ex. CLC)
These groups do not flop due to a change in concept, it's because the SONGs are not good.
GFriend have underperformed with many of their standard sounding tracks. Some stick, some do not. It's not the concept, it's the song. Time for the Moon Night stuck with the public in ways some of their other songs did not. Fingertip did not smash because the public simply didn't like the song. The album, iirc, is one of their highest selling. The fanbase liked the concept, the public just didn't like the song.
Same for TWICE. Signal is one of their best selling albums iirc, the song received very mixed reactions from everyone, that is why it didn't perform as well as some of their other hits.
Seriously, let's not pretend it was the concepts that cause underperformances.
Red Velvet smashed with Red Flavor, then came back with Peekaboo, then again with Bad Boy, then to Power Up. All decent hits despite vastly different concepts.
Fanbases like varying concepts and the public do as well you but you need to have a good song accompanying the concept change.

This whole concept change might even divide fans more in my opinion.
How? SNSD maintained their fanbase for over a decade with a huge variation in concepts. I do not like the idea of sticking to one concept. It's boring.
What's the excitement in waiting for the next era if you know how its going to look like and sound?

Somebody said they hit 3M preorders but I can't find a thread somewhere. Is that true? I'm shook.
Never thought I'd see that in the Korean industry

Not sure but could it be due to her recent appearance on the SBS program My Litttle Old Boy or attending of Taeyeon's concert?
Both. I saw multiple articles about her appearance at Taeyeon's concert lmao
