nothing wrong with being in your 30s... I join the club next year... you're welcome. it's really interesting if mind-boggling stuff. being the 2nd biggest music market in the world, Japan's system makes Korea's look like playschool... super hard for me to pick just a few. I love so many, I'd just end up writing out entire albums. B.U.T is an excellent choice though, last time I went to Japan I heard it playing in a ramen shop on my first day there, hell yeah... I think ANDROID is an underrated Toho classic http://www.jpopsuki.tv/video/Tohoshinki---ANDROID/908cd0ae1fef509a8dcd0ba6d7af5fbe

you can search for trademarks in Korea on the Korean Intellectual Property Rights Information Service if you're curious about who owns what, namewise: http://www.kipris.or.kr/enghome/main.jsp as for K-Dash, they're JYJ's management in Japan (instead of CJeS, presumably) but they still don't have a record label there - it's possible Avex could be their record label for a future release, but like Ichigo posted about on her blog before, CJeS and JYJ would either have to come to amicable terms with SM to enable their artists to also release through Avex, or Avex would have to drop its SM artists to accommodate JYJ. that's why I think them using another record label is a lot more likely

the relationship between Avex and K-Dash isn't exactly direct - the jimusho system in Japan is very complex and mysterious, and not totally transparent. all companies are connected in some manner, so it's not really as if Avex and K-Dash have some intentional special relationship that would easily enable collaboration - it's more like they occupy similar tiers in the overall hierarchy and both are subject to the whims of more powerful companies above them. it's hard to explain... it's much more complicated than the Korean system which is honestly dwarfed in comparison. it's pretty interesting, if confusing... you can read more about it in this series of essays http://neojaponisme.com/2010/04/05/the-jimusho-system-part-one/ the same blog did an entry about Tohoshinki in Japan (written in 2008 before the split) which is interesting too, if you're curious about that kinda stuff http://neojaponisme.com/2008/08/14/tohoshinki-rages-against-the-machine/ TVXQ ballads old and new are nice, but I'm more into their more upbeat tracks which explains why I prefer post-split TVXQ... I have to be in the mood for ballads, because music affects me emotionally so easily lol I'd never get anything done if I listened to ballads all the time...

I feel like it happens more often than not lately. we're all good friends but there's been noticeable tensions for various reasons over the past year or so. I honestly just think we all need time apart... we've all lived together for so long and it's been loads of fun, I'm definitely glad I lived with them rather than anyone else, but I feel like it's right to call time on our cohabitation... the majority of us are just getting too old to put up with other people in close proximity, lol such a qt gif I wish it was here... so much work... at least Monday is a bank holiday for me...

January 1987 though - 1987 babies (representtttt) are up this year, 1988 starts from next year, afaik. Ryeowook was born in June 1987 and he's scheduled to enlist this year, also in June. I think Junsu was probably meant for around that time as well, but has had his extended due to prior work commitments in a similar way to Yunho's extension due to work commitments last year... that's the impression I get anyway, I don't know the whole exact details of the process, of course. it probably also depends on if he's enlisted into active duty or not I presume

the Korean public is unfortunately sensitive about matters relating to military service regardless of details that only fans are really aware of... he probably got an extension due to being booked to appear in the musical already which makes it perfectly kosher but the general public may not see it that way. either way it doesn't really matter because he'll enlist eventually regardless, so it's just a matter of waiting and getting it over and done with tbh too lazy to go back and quote but I agree with y'all re: career circumstances affecting people in different ways. what may suit your life may not suit someone else's. that's why I get super eyerolly when people gripe and moan about Yunho and Changmin not leaving with JYJ, were somehow convinced in a single hour to stay with SM but they were totally going to 100% leave with JYJ, or the even more straightforwardly delusional "SM blackmailed them to stay!" (I automatically eyerolled irl even while typing that) as if they're such puppets they would be so easily coerced into repeatedly re-signing contracts they ~clearly~ don't want to be involved in. I understand some fans of more simplistic mindsets simply have a hard time accepting that each member is an individual with their own life and interests, and not all of those interests happily align in the way that fans hope, but it's amazing that even long-term, older fans subscribe to this kind of illogical malarkey and not only do they do that, but they also put the onus of the best group eva being split up on TVXQ for staying instead of on the people who chose to leave, and hold it against them as if they did it intentionally on SM's command. while I know that kind of twisted logic is purely based on hatred of SM and not much else, it's still difficult for me to wrap my head around. I don't begrudge JYJ leaving at all - it was their right and anyone in SM is free to do the same if it's what they want to do, imo. it's your life and you call the shots. I just hate it when people treat Yunho and Changmin as if they're weak, too stupid, plain lazy or active betrayers just for sticking to what they set out to do in the first place. there was no obligation for them to go with JYJ but people act like they should have just to keep the group together, completely ignoring their personal goals and desires. if we're going to applaud choices in this fandom, I say we respect them all first.

my parents moved me out as soon as I finished high school, lol. they even found the student accommodation for me... that sounds harsh but to be fair I had to go anyway because it would have been impossible to commute from my parents' house in the middle of rural nowheretown Ireland to the college I was attending at the time. no public transport in their area at all and lol if I'll ever be able to afford a car (I don't like to drive anyway bc of my extremely poor eyesight). I also don't blame them cause our house is so tiny. my former bedroom is storage now - there's nothing to suggest it was even my bedroom at some point. there's not even space for me to stay when I come to visit. I have to sleep on the floor. smh eheheheheheh

studio apartment in your senior year... so jeally... I struggled with various shared houses with other college students all thru undergrad and postgrad. I had my own bedroom at least (usually tiny) but had to share everything else with multiple strange people for the past ten years. I've already lived in three different flats in London in the past 4 years alone. I neeed spaaaaaaaceeeeee

lol, I'm very much someone who needs my own space too, especially since I'm an only child so I'm used to having my alone time... so the thought of sharing my personal space with another person forever was initially a bit intimidating, but luckily Yuhei and I get on so well that we can be in the same room doing our respective things without any pressure to keep up a conversation or awkwardly keep our attention on each other. he can be playing guitar on one side of the room and I can be internetting away on the other without anyone feeling put out or uneasy, it was such a relief, haha. I guess that's how it must be for most couples when you realise you're utterly comfortable around each other. anyway I also just want my own place to decorate and fill with stuff. because my current place came with furniture and is full of my housemates' stuff as well, there's little room for creativity (and not much point since I'm leaving anyway). I'm looking forward to the day where I don't have to keep saying "I love this, I wish I could get it for my room/the kitchen/the living room but there's nowhere to put it..." anymore!!!!

I'm envious tbh. I love my housemates, but I'm done with sharing a living space with 5+ other people. unfortunately it's just not possible to live here any other way - my rent for my one room in the house I live in is more than rent for entire houses in other parts of the country that aren't London. it's fun and all, and I by no means want to lose contact with any of them and hope I see them all the time in future, but god damn I need my own space and I've needed it for years already... at least when I move soon I'll just be sharing with Yuhei and once his contract is up we're gonna get a bigger place in Tokyo. the rent is surprisingly reasonable there (anywhere is compared to this city istg) so with both of our paychecks we should be able to afford a nice 1bedroom at least. yey

the only appliance I personally own is a rice cooker... everything else is either owned by my housemates or just came with the house, lol I've seen bits of Bob's Burgers but not watched it properly. I must give it a try... I'm not even sure why I love Futurama so much. I guess retro-futuristic stuff and outer space has always appealed to me (I did my college thesis on the politics of outer space... fucking nerd over here) plus comedy and a bit of sentiment, and ya got me hooked
