Yeah, he's very suspicious to me. I think he's come to a point of self-awareness and acceptance, which is good. He's had some major character development over the years. I personally think Taehyung is gay or at the very least attracted to men. I've never really believed that Jimin is gay like some do. I think from what I've seen he's aware of women and attracted to them so I'd write him off as either bisexual or straight. BTS as a whole confuse me so although I'm sure some of them are straight and some of them are bi/gay, I'm not quite sure who. But that's just kpop for ya.

Very interesting compilation. I think Namjoon is the strongest contender here. I mean he could just be a strong ally (someone he knows closely could be LGBT+) but honestly, he seems so into it. I don't see how people can read all those compilations and think he's 100% macho straight. Just doesn't make sense to me. He just has too much interest that a straight person would have. Suspicious. On the other hand I don't think the Frozen Flower is evidence beyond them being open-minded. I remember when that film came out and it was huge. People have to remember that the cast for that film are top Korean celebrities. Everyone saw that movie. Everyone was talking about it. Even a group (I won't name) that I consider to be the straightest group in kpop watched it and talked about it. So if BTS watched it - cool. But I don't think anything of it.

Man, Heechul's relationship with Hangeng has always been interesting to me. Super Junior was the first group I liked in Kpop a long time ago and they were always a pair my eyes kept an eye on. You could really see that Heechul had a soft spot for him. Apparently Heechul wrote Shanghai Love for Hangeng after he left for China. The song isn't that great (like something fun you'd sing at a karaoke bar after one too many shots) but the lyrics... hmm. I think they really had something there. It's sad, honestly. I think Heechul really loved him once. That's just my opinion though. If you don't wanna listen to the song I'll put the lyrics in the spoiler below.

It's a weird system, isn't it? Fans can play into the fantasy of being their girlfriend, want them to get into straight dating scandals and get married, want them to get laid (I've seen it), and ship them to all ends with woman they interact with (think IU and Jungkook). But once you try to look past the whole "I'm a totally straight person - there is no LGBT in Korea, and also all my fans are my girlfriends/boyfriends" that all idols wear as armor, you get suspicious. It's just not true for all of them. But who? So I speculate. But apparently it's offensive and invasive to wonder if anyone is LGBT in Kpop. I don't understand why when you bring LGBT into the equation, suddenly you've just gone way too far. Really? All that other shit but once you bring in the word gay it's too much? What? srry i'm ranting today

Same here. When I was new to Kpop I'd see butt touching as evidence but it became quite clear that grabbing each others butts or slapping them was pretty common and platonic. It's like in sports when they smack each others behind. From what I've seen, based on context it usually means good job/keep it up, or the smack is used as a warning from a hyung who sees the youngsters actions as disrespectful or getting out of line (which I'm not sure regular Koreans do but it seems common in kpop from all the years I've been here). If they're getting all up on that booty though it's something to think about. I would just throw it out as fanservice though.

Legit a few days ago a blurry picture popped up of Jimin walking with a girl who had long black hair after his concert, and he had his hand on the back of her head. All the fans were freaking out and acting like it was 100% confirmed - but the Koreans sweeped in and said it was just his short manager wearing a hoodie and told them to stop lmao The amount of dating rumours for the maknae line of BTS is insane. They get shipped around like crazy. I wonder how awkward it feels for them to be around Red Velvet and Twice when they're shipped with all of them.

I saw this video today and I was so enamored by the dancing. I gotta say that even though I don't know their sexuality individually, there seems to be so many queer undertones in their music and choreography. I think they can't say it outright but Namjoon definitely encourages people to think that what they release isn't just hetero and is for all types of love. I don't know how to say it but the choreography for J-hope and Jimin is kinda intense, as though they are intertwined with one another. Makes me feel heavy. Maybe I'm wrong and those gay undertones are just supposed to be strong platonic love between friends, but if I had a "friend" who "loved" me like that I don't think I could let her go. BTS is coming back soon and I'm curious as to whether or not they will continue with their storylines, or move onto something else. What I'm saying isn't any new information (sorry) but damn, BTS. They've always got me trapped in their stuff. I'm always really looking forward to their comebacks. I'll go away now.

I agree. Someone close to me is asexual and although she does crush on people (I don't thinks she's aromantic) she doesn't want to actually commit to dating anyone. She's never been in a relationship. She talks about having kids but doesn't want to make them, she wants to adopt. Her family and some people who find out give her a hard time and say she just "hasn't met the right person yet" and "you'll change your mind and grow out of it". Some have kind of laughed at her wanting to adopt, insisting that since she's fertile it's a waste to not make children herself. Although asexuals/aromantics do not face nearly as much prejudice and hatred as members of LGBT, I do think they can have a hard time from people who just don't get it. I do think they can be a part of LGBT as they are a sexual minority. So yeah, I think Minsung should definitely be an acceptable topic here. Like someone else said I think this thread should be "which male idols do you think are LGBT+" rather than "gay". Sorry if I'm annoying anyone by not keeping to speculations and stuff.

Eh, dating within groups happens (in Kpop and the west, but I won't list who and when cause I'm lazy and don't feel like looking it all up rn). I think Wanna One and JBJ are exceptions considering they are temporary groups and from different companies. They don't have to worry long term about the group dynamics and whatnot when they know it's going to end, hence I don't think they would care so much as a typical group would. I think that goes the opposite way too. They can have drama and fight but fuck it, they're temporary so they can just be cool in public and be professional and pretend everything is a-ok. Anyway, I think idols are pretty young teens/adults and that could lead to some of them leaning towards what their hearts want rather than leaning towards logic, so even though they know it's not a good idea they'll date within anyway. Being that young and having to do typical fanservice all the time must be hella confusing if you're young, impressionable, and unsure of yourself. I'm sure mutual feelings can occur. Misunderstandings too. Granted I'm not saying it's a common thing, probably rare. I doubt any company would approve so they either listen to their company or sneak around - which is a bad idea. I'm sure some do it anyway though. Probably more common with nugu groups than big company groups who know they're in it for the long run. I think we have to remember that idols are people too, and among them are gonna be idols within groups who like each other and decide "screw the rules". Not all of them will adhere to logic and rules. They live together but they're not family members. The funny thing about the recipe for disaster is some people are real messy. I think this is less of a reply to you and more of me just ranting because I'm tired.

I think it will definitely eventually happen. I think unfortunately that chosen person will go through a very hard time. I think they may get through it, though. I think once that idol comes out, depending on how their career and standing goes - it will open a floodgate for other idols. Hong Seok Cheon went through a very hard time but he did bounce back and show that he wasn't gonna go down, and his career still stands today. Maybe an Idol can do that too? Hopefully then we'll reach a more progressive state where idols can be more open about themselves if they want to. I think like you said it'll be awhile from now. I'll most likely still be here when those years past, though. I've liked kpop since I was at least 10, so I think it stopped being a phase when I hit the 10 year mark. We'll see. It'll probably be an older idol who doesn't give a shit anymore, imo. Who knows, though?

I have no doubt this has happened in Kpop before and I bet it's happening right now. Only difference is they'll probably take it to the grave or leak it when they're like 40 years old and dgaf anymore. Alas! One day, one day.

In my personal opinion LGBT tend to flock to the entertainment industry so it's not wrong to make the assumption that there are more LGBT in entertainment compared to regular folk. Statistics don't work in the way that if we speculate 1-3 members in a group to be LGBT - that's it, we've reached the gay quota. From my personal experience in a group of people/friends, all of them can be LGBT, just a few of them, or none. It really varies. It doesn't have set rules for how many gay or non-gay people should be in a group. It's all different. In my current group of friends (about 7) 5 of us are bisexual with one of them leaning heavily towards the same sex. But I've also had friend groups in the past where only I and another were Bisexual out of a lot of us. So really it all depends. I think that applies to boy/girl bands as well. Some of the members can be LGBT, all of them, or none.

I saw a fan say that all EXO members are straight. It made me laugh. Saying they're all LGBT makes me laugh too. meh
