    Okay fellas what's the verdict

I put a spoiler for the video because there are moments that I would consider to be too shippy, but there are moments in the compilation that genuinely cause me to side-eye those two. In my personal opinion there could be an attraction (sexual Perhaps) linked with flirtation, but perhaps never fully acted on - just teasing and playfulness. I could see that happening to members of a band. Anyways I'll excuse myself now.

  2. So the votes so far say most people here are gay/bi men and gay/bi woman. Hmm, where are all of these supposed fetishizing straight girls that are supposed to be dominating this thread?

On the other hand I'm relieved that Holland clarified the rumors. It was a mess seeing people gather up lists of names of all potential bullies. It's good to have that out of the way, although I'm more than certain that there are still homophobic idols out there in disguise. Just gotta cross my fingers that I'm not unknowingly stanning any. Sigh... Oh well, such is life.

Since we're talking about BTS I'll just put my opinion. I won't use the Kinsey scale though, simply because I don't feel confident about using it. My opinion isn't set in stone for myself simply because BTS are all confusing and my opinion as a whole tends to change overtime due to... well, them being them.

Taehyung - I think gay but bisexual is possible. He's definitely a flirty guy and can sway men around. I saw what you did there with Ansel, kid. You're not fooling me. That whole Bogum thing is suspicious as well.

Yoongi - Bisexual. I think Yoongi is as upfront about that as he can be as an idol. He could probably spell it out to his fans and it still wouldn't be enough for them to think he's anything but straight.

Namjoon - I used to think he was straight but the evidence/receipts tell me that he is at the very least bisexual. I don't think he's gay, however, I think he's into woman. I think he definitely has a thing for men, at least sexually. Bisexual? Yeah, I'm going with bisexual.

Jimin - Hahaha Jimin is the hardest one to read. I can't figure this kid out. I think Jimin just has a way of drawing people into him, both genders alike. You can see he likes the attention and praise. Is he gay? I don't think so. I think he could swing both ways. Bisexual. I don't think I'll ever have a set opinion for Jimin. Plus he seemed pretty fond of Shawn Mendes so there's that.

Jungkook - Straight, bi-curious, or bisexual. Jungkook is also hard to read. He's also shy so you can't really gauge how he is and how to distinct the difference between him being shy versus him being attracted. This kid is either straight or bisexual, but I definitely suspect him to be bisexual or at least bi-curious. I don't think he's gay but I won't be surprised if he is, I am just speculating after all. My opinion could change on the future. He's definitely not the macho cold guy that fan's paint him out to be, though. He's a soft cookie for sure.

Jin - Straight. Jin pings me the least. I can't really come up with times where he had suspicious moments compared to the others. He doesn't really initiate anything and he doesn't seem to care that much for it, at least in my opinion. Sorry, I just don't see it.

Hoseok - Straight. Hoseok does ping me sometimes but I'm going to have to go with straight. I'm not 100% with that opinion but it's my feeling based on the evidence and the way he acts. Bisexuality isn't completely out the window, but I'm still going to lean towards the waffle for this guy.

    Just my opinion.

  3. Even better! Thanks!

Nothing to do with anything, but I just read the comic your icon is from and it was the greatest thing ever.

Also, yes please do post receipts. :D

    Why thank you.

    Some receipts.

The two minutes mostly but throughout the video you can see Baekhyun looking like he's got something to say to Tae. When he does eventually stop hesitating and talks to him, he keeps looking at him after their conversation ends with a restless kind of hop to his feet. Perhaps not strong 'evidence' but it reminds me of when I had a crush on someone and I would stare at them and think I was so slick, when in actuality I looked like I had to piss myself and my friends told me to stop glancing at him so much. Either that or Baek had too much caffeine.

And then there's this video which is more shippy but it reinstates the video above and gives more clarification on it. It's just funny to Taehyung seemingly not notice how antsy Baekhyun is.

  4. BTS is certainly the biggest clusterfuck when it comes to speculation. When I look at groups like SVT or EXO I can kind of speculate who isn't or isn't gay (in my own opinion of course). When it comes to BTS they all can be questionable and make me go hmm - some more than others, but in the end of the day I leave just even more confused as to who I truly think is gay/bi/straight.

I know I'm biased because I'm a fan of BTS, but damn, those kids really are an enigma. My queer heart is doing flips.

Also does anyone else think Baekhyun has/had a crush on Taehyung? I can post a receipt or two if asked.

  5. I'm getting flashbacks to when that Jikook shipper on Twitter said that after watching the GCF video she had a vision that Jikook were going to come out in a couple of months and Bang PD was going to come out right after them

    giphy.gif

    lmao I wish

Bet you though that people were drinking that koolaid along with 'Kpop Predictions' on twit

  6. Guys.who know group D.O.B( cover group). What you thing about Park Jin and Tayeong? They are couple or just fanservice?

I used to be interested in DOB and if I remember correctly Taeyeong clarified that he's straight. They are very popular street performers and they have a female dominated fanbase who loyally attend their performances. They're pretty much idols without the debut. As much I loved them as a couple, I was pretty disheartened to find out they're just doing it for fanservice.

    So that's that I guess.

  7. Tao and Sehun are straight

There is a gay and a bi in VIXX and once pursued someone from exo. However, all of exo are straight.
Same-sex relationships are quite common in Korea, especially guys with guys but most of them are in different groups (not too sure about the last part)
It is not uncommon for korean idols to be bil
Winner’s Jinwoo was once crazily pursued by a male idol
There is a bi in monsta x (gay)
    BTS members are all straight

hmm i need to read more about this thread, seems equally interesting and full of shit

  8. That person was talking about Jimin having a girlfriend though. I do know that the word "date" in Korea has a bit of a lighter connotation than in western countries, though I'd say that's more because people seem to call friend meet-ups dates sometimes. However, if an idol said that they "dated" someone of the same sex, in the context of talking about romantic dating (even if they just go out once to see if they want to continue), I think that...would be a pretty big deal.

If they were teens/pre-teens at the time I wouldn't consider it a large deal. I don't think too much of it when you're young and figuring yourself out. Not so much when they're already adults. Perhaps I should have clarified that. I think the point is that here when you go on a first date in the west, you just say "I went on a date with this person." Whereas in Korea on a first date, you would say in the future, "I dated this person."

I legit knew a girl who said she dated 4 boys, but it turned out she only went on first dates with them to get to know them a little before her parents chased them away. They remained friends but nothing more. It's a more innocent thing? Like hanging out with them. You're not really doing anything romantic. Unless the person actually starts a relationship with that person and goes on further dates, it's not that deep. However I think Jimin's gf was a more long-term thing?

Anyway I'm not trying to say who's gay or straight. I just think if someone says "idol dated this person in middle school" it could be side-eyed unless you find out they were a legit couple.

  9. I think some people have to remember that dating is done a bit differently in Korea. At least at first, anyway. Two people can meet and decide to go on a "date" in order to get to know each other and see if they like each other. If it goes well, then from that point on they can continue the "dates" and start officially dating from that point onwards. There isn't a love confession or anything like that before the first date. It's not a huge thing.

That's why quite a few Korean kids can say they've dated a few people simply because their first dates are merely a way to get to know each other as new friends and establish whether they want to continue building a relationship. Whereas in the west, friendship and/or a confession usually comes before the date and a date is considered to be something more serious.

I don't know if I'm explaining it well, but a Korean first date is much more different and less committal than a western w one. I don't want to generalize, though. I don't think they all do it that way? I've never dated but according to that I've "dated" quite a few people. I see kids saying they've "dated" when in actuality they went on let's-get-to-know-each-other first dates that never continued after the first date lol.

If you're wondering why it matters at all, it's just based on that knowledge that I don't really think it's a big deal if an idol *cough*jungkook*cough*  says they dated someone of the same sex before. It really isn't a big deal over there. Of course it could have gone beyond that, don't get me wrong.

  10. So I was browsing the thread at work and found an old post about RBW vocal group VRomance. This was caught on one of their VLives:

    tumblr_olhwrvyWyK1sgvmf0o1_1280.pngtumblr_olhwrvyWyK1sgvmf0o2_1280.pngtumblr_olhwrvyWyK1sgvmf0o3_1280.pngtumblr_olhwrvyWyK1sgvmf0o4_1280.pngtumblr_olhwrvyWyK1sgvmf0o5_1280.png

So anyway, an old post by Aisling says it's in this VLive broadcast 55 minutes in, but I couldn't find it and clicked around for a while and couldn't find it anywhere else either. Some parts of the video seem chopped up a bit too, so I'm guessing the part was removed entirely? It would also explain Aisling's timestamp being wrong if the video is shorter now.

Then again, I could have missed it. I've been waiting for like an hour to someone to come to work and fix a busted lock and I didn't sleep last night.

    tenor.gif

If it is gone, why'd they do that? imstupid.png Shame on you, RBW.

    Yes, I'm bored.

Anyway, after RBW trainees did fairly well on Produce 101 Season 2, Hyungyu and Chandong from VRomance went on Mixnine for a while. Hyungyu pings.

I'm going through it too but I don't see it anywhere. That's a damn shame. I'd love to see those kisses in action.

  11. That's the thing, like we can have a thousand evidence of an idol being sexually attracted to men and it's still not good enough but a male idol breathes or looks at a direction of a woman and it's enough proof that he's sexually attracted to women.

Idk if this comes from their desperation to prove the heterosexuality of their faves or the oversexualization of male and female idols but either way it's hella annoying.

You betcha. I'll probably never live to see the day where a male idol and female idol can interact without people assuming there's a hidden motive lol. So long as the idol fantasy persists it'll never happen. I guess it's easier in a way for gay idols in Korea, with that in mind?

Male and female idol react at each other in any way = dating. Male and male idol going on dates = straight bromance. You have someone like Suga openly declaring their bisexuality and some view it as him just being an ally, or someone like Heechul being clear as day with Gunhee but people only view it as bromance. The only way people will take your gayness seriously is if you were to make a public statement or have a tape get leaked. But why would you go that far? Gotta say as a woman I probably wouldn't find it difficult to chill with some girl groups if I were an idol, if you know what I mean. No one would question our "friendship". But when it comes to heterosexuality in Kpop people question everything even if there's nothing there at all, and it's incredibly risky for straight idols. How exhausting.

Seems like gay is the way in Kpop because it's the more safe way to get laid.

  12. Thank you, this needed to be said. It's annoying when some of y'all think an idol must definitely be attracted to women because he stared or smiled at a girl or god forbid enjoyed a girl group's performance. Being gay doesn't mean you can't have natural human interactions with the opposite sex or find someone of the opposite sex attractive . Let's be clear on this.

Of course. Plenty of gay men love woman. Love being friends with them, love celebs like Cher, Beyonce and Lady Gaga. But that doesn't mean they like them in a romantic or sexual way. It's more of a appreciation and respect. Some admire their beauty and charisma. I think especially Drag queens look up to those woman. Of course I'm not trying to generalize, this is just my personal opinion and experience being a part of the LGBT community and being friends with other LGBT and going to gayclubs/dragshows.

A male idol looking at a female idol, smiling at a female idol, being shy around a female idol, being friends with a female idol. That's how people act around people. I mean. Female idols are people, ya know? They're not a concept. They're individuals. It's strange for people to over analyze how male idols act around them as though it's 100% confirmed that there will be immediate lust. It's as though they think male idols don't ever speak or talk to woman in general. Sorry if this doesn't make sense or I'm ranting. It just kinda peeves me off that a male idol can't be around a female idol without people taking out their magnifying glasses and trying to see what's there and what isn't.

  13. It's worth noting that actually all of bts is really familiar with Jo-kwon, seeing as how he actually spoke to BH trainees in an official capacity as an industry senior, and also has done collabs with them and even for some reason had dance practices there. This was definitely not the first time Tae has worn heels, and Jo-kwon loves wearing them for dance performances so. Take what you will from that.

Can I play the devil's advocate here? I don't necessarily agree with what I'm going to write but it's another viewpoint that I think may be worthy of discussion. We saw that most of the judges (mostly men) flicked off their lights due to discomfort/disgust. Among the judges,Taehyung and Namjoon are the only idols present. Do you think there would be any reason for Taehyung and Namjoon to feel pressured not to flick off their lights if they secretly felt uncomfortable with the performance?

Do you think they would be aware that they could get into controversy (especially internationally) if they were to join the other male judges and turn their lights off? Among the judges they are the only ones who could get criticism and scrutiny if they flicked their lights off, and that's something they were possibly aware of. Taehyung's dance don't lie but it's just a stray thought I have.

    don't roast me pls guys

  14. I have mixed feelings about Holland's success... on one hand it's great to see so many barriers in Korea being broken down with a simple music video.

on the other hand as a gay male I am kind of creeped out by the fetishism that I suspect is behind a lot of the stanning.

but then again if that fetishism didn't exist I'm pretty sure this thread wouldn't have a fraction of the active users it does.

    2527719-9543516824-igK1d.gif

sis a majority of the people in this thread are LGBT. Didn't know we were fetishizing ourselves. Nice to know, though. Maybe I should go cover up all my mirrors so I don't see my reflection and victimize myself.

anyway is it bad that I want to see that Sehun and Baekhyun stream? Did it just happen or is it old news?
