AO, Rasa, King, Jun, E.Den, J-Hyo , LC9, a six member group, introduces themselves as “an unusual group†1. what makes lc9 different from other boy groups? This is the first time “glitch hop†has been tried in Korea. Here, we’re presenting a dance called “Seawalker.†Unlike existing idol music videos that show dancing or acting, we fight. We used special make-up and high-speed cameras, etc…we trained for about four to five months, learning a lot of fighting for the music video, and also tried using wire action. The costumes as well were specially designed just for us. Finally, all the members have a lot of different skills(charms) and together we make the perfect combination. 2. Are you nervous about your debut? Because we’re the first idol group to try some of these new things we are nervous. Our dance, music video ect., are a gamble, other idol groups do similar things, because we aren’t like this, anxiety is to be expected. But we have confidence too. We’ve been up on stage before, but before your debut you need to experience the wait. We feel good about the suspense. We want to experience our debut faster, because once it’s behind us we can to better; we’ll still be anxious, but it’ll be fun. 3. Before you were called the ‘brown eyed boys’ , is seems like a burden to be compared to the BEG. Kind of, but also not. Truthfully, the LC9 group name was decided on early. However because no one knew what we were, they just called us the BEB after the name our network gave the BEG. We didn’t think it was awkward or disliked it. We didn’t mind being compared to the BEG because we want to become artists like them. For this album, the BEG Ga In even participated. Ga In always cheered for us and gave us advice saying: “being tough is important for a celebrity; there are a lot of people and a lot of good people.†4. It looks like your debut is right around the corner? The time comes to end your long trainee life. (sorry this is an awkward question to translate) Being a trainee, we had some hard times but it was a good experience. (tr. note: this part is a personal story that was difficult to translate so please forgive mistakes. The original never says who’s talking or who their talking about) Once, when we were taking profile pictures we were joking around and did something rude. When we did that, it led to a disagreement and the company had to come. We thought we were getting kicked out of the company when this happened. I thought (what we did) was funny at the time. We thought we’d get downtime for a day or two. I was told to get out of the company. Then I felt really scared. I thought the suspension would be a week tops, but after one month at home I was terrified. These days I tried to practice harder. I put in a lot more effort. 5. Do you think you’ll survive in the harsh world of music? We’re obviously striving to be different than other idols. Little by little, we’d like to show how we’ve grown over time. LC9 members talented, so you should expect good things. Next LC9 members gave a self-introduction: AO: When attending middle school he receive an offer to attend a gifted students program. I think it was KAIST? (tr note. KAIST is the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) Because he received the offer he went to go tour the program, however he didn’t join. J-Hyo: He’s multi-talented. He can play instruments, dance, sing, rap, there’s nothing he can’t do. Being in the middle of the teams ages is good because he gives feedback and sets a (mother-like) tone. E.Den: He’s smart and an elite-like person. He lived in Canada for 15 years and came to Korea 3 years ago, he’s also a university graduate. He went to the University of British Columbia, so he naturally has an educated image and English language skills, he’s a very good friend. Jun: He’s the LC9 visual. He plays tricks on the members and also can do make up well. So then, when we put on makeup he can change and fix it. When he was in high school he didn’t study a lot, he played around, but he also received a (physical education?) scholarship. He did great in PE, he has good running skills. He went to the “Idol Championships†for a friend. He tried to be number 1. King: The LC9 mascot. Since his hair is gorgeous. His name makes you visualize a crown. Like his hairstyle, his voice is strong; he is in charge of the team’s main vocal. Also he is in charge entertainment (like mc’ing). He is like another Jo Kwon (tr. note, from 2AM) and Kwanghee (tr note: from ZE:A). RASA: Has been in training for a long time as the leader and is like a dad. He has a strict appearance, but knows how to goof off when appropriate. Like this, he is beloved leader to his dongsaengs.
