The real gag about the possibility of BP not coming back with at least a mini album but another measly single is that part of the justification YG gave to axe the winning Mix9 group is: "I know we promised a tour for the winner but one can't go on tour with less than 15 song". I thought it was official that the final group will have 12 members with 6 KOR spots and 6 JPN spots? It made the most sense as it takes away the tension for the KOR vs JPN thing and viewers from both countries will pay attention (warm up) to both sides of the contestants.

there's hope though lol season 2 (the smash hit that it was) had kind of the same angry reception, the song didn't do well. it was only after the show started that it rose streadily anyway, this is sad but nothing to be done here. hopefully when the show actually starts airing nasties will start to see the JPN girls as humans too (can't get over the fact that they have no problem with their idols making bank in Japan)

Yes, no western artist drops more than one album in a year. There's usually 2 years at least between each one. Taylor Swift took 3 years before returning after 1989. However, the way western artists promote their albums is completely different. They periodically release 3-4 singles from the same one over the course of a year long promotional process as opposed to Koreans who generally promote 1 track from each release so their albums feel like singles, no bsides will see the light of day outside of their fandoms. The gag is, BP gets the worst of both worlds: space out releases like western artists yet only do singles like Koreans. lmao
