  7. Thanks you all for your welcome and for the warm reception of my first post here So... since Sunmi's nails are the hot topic, I would like to put my 2cents... When I saw her insta post I haven't heard about the rumour about her nails and sexuality, so I had no clue that she was answering that... however, now that I've read what happened I would like to say a couple of things. Firstly a sincere question: how big was the issue that her agency and her felt the need to address it? I mean... it was just something international (and not korean) fans were talking about for fun... people were calling her a gay/lesbian queen since before, for the gender swap dance, or for the way she fangirled over Chungha or other girl idols, or because she always seems uncomfortable near male idols... I agree with who wrote here that her agency's response can be interpreted as a way to dismiss rumour and at the same time to don't lose straight and lgbt+ fans. About Sunmi's answer... I am a bit more puzzled, especially because she used the word wrong. Obviously she's directly aiming at international fans, since she's using English, but I think there are many ways to interpret it. 1-the worst scenario: is she implying that being not-straight is wrong? In this case, she would be straight and a bit homophobic ( ) 2-or, regardless her orientation, she is scared of her image being "tainted" by those rumours (we all know how many lgbt+ celebrities are there in korean entertainment). 3-the most positive (and hopeful) scenario: she is telling people that there is anything wrong with her nails and with being not-straight. I think nobody but her knows the answer so all these are mere groundless speculations, just my thoughts that I wanted to share in a friendly environment (since I wouldn't know where to share them otherwise ) However, closing the """"serious"""" talk and going back to fun, one thing is sure (if I'm wrong please tell me ) she took down this instagram pic (trans: my nails/manicure) Oh, and it isn't only since she started playing the bass for wondergirls comeback that she keeps her nails short And just to end my post on a beautiful gay note, one of my favourite Sunmi's pic:
  8. Nice to meet you! I'm new here I've joined Onehallyu because I couldn't keep all my love for kpop (and girls) by myself I would like to answer the question of this thread sharing a post: She posted it 5 hours ago... I know that looking at the pattern of her clothes is cliché... But at least look at what she wrote (she wrote it in English): miyayeahIs there anything wrong with my nails? Haha And it's not her first time posting on insta about her short, bare nails...
