Hm... both are actresses as well. Could you squeeze a nap in somewhere? XD Also, I thought the idea of Idol School was unaffiliated trainees (well, I think the pitch was originally to actually train girls from the ground up but they still cast girls who used to be trainees at ent companies). P48 is already questionable with the j-girls not being trainees (aside from 1 (or 2?)), it would be even more questionable to have 46G members in a IS46 show. Though I guess really the unaffiliated trainees thing is for Mnet's benefit since they can make the final group and not have to negotiate with other companies on their activities (and keep them for the duration of a normal contract). No point on missing out on someone who might be really skilled and popular just because they were already trained somewhere else before. (Also also, if it's going to be 46G why would they call it IS48? Even if the 48G label is probably more recognizable this would be kind of disrespectful. Also also also, aren't the 46G doing too well right now to get into something like this...? But would 46G scheduling be more forgiving compared to 48G scheduling?) Eh, kpop encroaching on Japan's idol industry seems more like a problem for all the non-48/46 groups out there, because 48G aren't structured similar to kpop groups and 46G are doing really well (well, both do well commercially compared to the rest of the j-idol groups).

There isn't supposed to be a next season anytime soon. Dunno if Mnet will keep that promise, they'll probably strike whenever they think the timing is good. But it would probably be years from now, by which time Wonyoung would likely have already debuted the normal way--though depending how well the group does, I guess there's no reason she can't still go on the show again. >.>;;; Seems a bit unseemly for a high-ranked trainee to come back, though.

I kind of implied it, but what I feel about that is that it's the fault of the SK's government at the time. It seems they did not care about the comfort women who suffered at the hands of the Japanese, so it wasn't accounted for at the time of the Treaty. I can't imagine why those in power were so indifferent to the plight of the sex slaves. If the SK government were looking out for their own people it would have been dealt with then, and Japan monetary reparations were quite large at the time and it's not like Japan was telling SK how to spend it so wasn't it up to SK to set up things then if things were all settled as agreed? But I do feel like Japan should be way less squirrelly about this, especially since they finally agreed to make further reparations specifically for comfort women. Everyone knows what it's supposed to be, so what's the point of Japan pretending it's not what it's supposed to be? If you're going that far you might as well do so in a way to avoid further criticism. (Seems to be an LDP tenet, though. In fact I don't think the LDP is very geniune.)

And at least they did it in a timely-ish manner as a result of ongoing talks with the aggrieved country (14 years doesn't exactly feel timely but there were 7 rounds of discussions, so)... I don't think the USA can brag about making reparations ~40 years late to the surviving internees.

That is incorrect. Japan made reparations and that's how normal relations was established, and Japan understandably considered things settled at that point. If South Koreans have a problem with the extent of the settlements they should blame their own government for what they jointly negotiated. But South Korea is not operating in good faith when they continuously bring up shit with Japan whenever they want to whip up the populace and distract them from some internal issues. Which, given that SK had a literal dictator and later elected that dictator's daughter to office and she was so corrupt she actually got ousted it's pretty obvious what's going on. If you apologize for something you did wrong and do things the other person asks for to make it up to them, and the other person says they accept it, but later keeps claiming you didn't apologize or do anything, eventually you're probably going to feel you shouldn't have to keep apologizing, especially when this was all 70 years ago and even the oldest Japanese today were at most probably some random soldiers.

How is this an unpopular opinion.... I dunno, on the japanese side the watchers are mostly going to be 48G fans (but mostly of the girls who are in the show) and kpop fans. The kpop fans are inclined to like the k-trainees because they already know what 48G are about and possibly already rejected it (of course there are some who can be fans of both). The comments may be originating more from places where kpop fans congregate. And also, if there were j-48G fans, they might not want their fave in the final group if the 1.5year exclusive period turns out to be true. Well, they'll be known as a troll pick but they have the opportunity to gain/win over more fans after debut as well, so it's not a death sentence. Gahyeon? I feel like that's just her face. She got a good reaction with her expressions in her freestyle but it doesn't work so well in other concepts. I feel like another reason the live voting is a little skewed from what we perceive is that there are some talk segments from the girls around the performances (that aren't shown in broadcast) and some girls come across really well in those and are able to win people over regardless of how they did in the performance itself. I remember some fanaccounts kept mentioning how Yujin's legs and leather pants were amazing. Troll voting is not about "zero talent" trainees dropping, it's about talented trainees rising. No fan of a trainee whose ranking has dropped a lot would ever use this as an excuse because there's only a couple trainees pinpointed as a troll vote. When I first heard that she said that, it seemed probable to me that she doesn't like the lifestyle of a trainee. (The other option is that Pledis is going to drop her but I don't think that's likely.) She might also have a better idea of when Pledis would drop their next girlgroup, which is probably not that soon given Pristin, and is not down for sticking around for that long without getting to debut. Dunno if the incentive of getting in as a trainee to a company as big as SM would tempt her into staying for longer. I felt SNS's choreo was underwhelming overall but Yujin's part stuck out as being especially underwhelming. I'm impressed that she sang the main vocal parts in the recording but the choreography there was not suited for a lipsynced performance--if you don't have to be able to sing why are you just doing a series of poses? I don't know if she had to come up with it herself but if that was the best she (or Eunji?) could do I would have begged one of the trainers to give me a hand. I don't know why some defensive stans are so reluctant to brag about their fave when they're actually being invited to.

I doubt it... there's been that strong PR push for Miho being a long-term koreaboo, and since she did well in the last elimination challenge people probably think her abilities are good enough for debut (who knows if this ep will derail that). These both should increase her appeal with "normal" koreans. At worst she's probably a strong second pick for a lot of people. (There's a strong PR push for Moe's attitude towards Japan's actions towards SK now but I don't think she's proven herself in performance yet to most people....) I thought SKE was the group that got good catering.... Oh, I was wondering why that group was talking about Sakura (and Minjoo?) before the other groups made their eliminations.

I remember someone saying "maybe Wonyoung can get Miru some screentime" but seeing as they're in different groups and the Intimate Note thing could be a lie I dunno about this....

At least they were kind enough to spare Chaeyeon (and Miho) a bit of attention as well.... I think that person is an RBW fan so they're inclined to support Goeun but has to admit Haeyoon is better. Yeah, my korean is nonexistent and my japanese is borderline useless but I still found this ep interesting. Much more interesting than performances where they pause every five seconds for GASPU reactions, restart from five different angles, soup up the vocals, add slow motion and other stupid effects....

I think in ep1 they might have showed some pre-show/audition material where she made some funny/ugly faces as a "charming" contrast to her usual beauty or whatever. But I feel like she's halfway to making those expressions in her daily life whenever she feels uncertain or something.

Why would she give it to Goeun when Goeun can't even hit the note. How does that help the group? This is a group perf again after all, there's actually a benefit for the group winning. But if she had the producers would have given it right back to Yuri after they had everyone try it... our ears wouldn't have been spared but Yuri would have gotten an angel edit.

I assume barely anyone is around at 1-5am in the morning to watch anything anyway.... The thing is I don't think of this as a storyline. This is literally just people working out how the performance should be. It's like you guys just want them to not show them figuring any of this out and just air performances and that's it. Go ahead an whine about "but why didn't X get to be main vocal/center????" then.

I don't understand why people think this stuff is boring. Sorting out who does what and what people are actually good at whatever is the nuts and bolts of this whole competition. With all the backstory out of the way, they probably can't drag out 6 performances to cover more than half the next ep, so there could still be fun nonsense next time.

It's just one of those things people can freely interpret. Even if she were jealous it's fine and understandable but some people would hold that against her. I remember in the early eps for the first elimination challenge during some center battles there were a million zooms into various people's faces and it's like... what expression are you expecting them to make, anyway? They were just concentrating, probably. But the context of the zooms is like we're suppose to think they're jealous or whatever. This is still an earlier point than the actual cutoff, and both are significantly higher than the #2's vote total was. 12-pick already showed that the votes are distributed more evenly this season instead of there being a huge dropoff.

What do you mean "only". The vote isn't over yet, and there's only koreans voting. Both already surpassed Sejeong's vote for this elimination.
