  1. ... you can't fault C-fans from stealing people's identities? Even if they restrain themselves to using it to vote on a dumb show, you realize they are literally criminals? That's not Moe in the lower corner, is it?
  2. Well then. I can't see why Mnet is under fire for this. It's like blaming a rental company that uses a credit monitoring service to check one's credit when Equifax are the dipshits who got hacked.
  3. Hm, well... does MNet own Gmarket? If not, I guess they might have been able to choose better platform to sell stuff on (but isn't it the leading korean online marketplace?) but this seems to be more on Gmarket than Mnet.
  4. Someone did one of those line distro breakdown vids and iirc it was Goeun>Nako>Yuri>>>Gyuri&Chaewon. I might have Nako and Yuri switched, but Goeun was maybe ~45s, and the one who had the least in the top 3 still had at least 35s. Gyuri and Chaewon were both 15-20s each. I came around to the view after the fact that they should have just distributed lines equally during the position evaluation. There's no incentive to put on a good performance as a group because there's no points benefit for a group that wins, so they should have just made it possible for each member to shine (or flop). People are going to talk about Yunjin whenever they anticipate that she might be eliminated in the next ep. And then after that ep, they'll talk about her whenever they feel sad she's not still around. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I dunno if there will be any girls wrestling in kpop, but I know there was wrestling at a past ISAC https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6fmwn2 Also, some member of ZE:A, Taehun/Taeheon, is in MMA. Of course, ZE:A was a flop group and is now disbanded. Well, I dunno how long his MMA career was since I never heard anything about it after he lost his debut match; I think he's doing his military service now.
  5. Yes, I heard about that, too. Frankly, touring the US for real is inefficient compared to Japan, but I guess it's possible if some sponsors invite them to tour. But seeing as they're a girlgroup I think the extent of touring will be a little less (in places that aren't Japan).
  6. Producers changing their minds last second, not considering the stage performance... maybe they can think it's not their problem if they just want it to chart well as the best version of the song they can put out, but the stage performance can help a song chart.... This group is going to exist for 2.5 years, though. They could be busy enough between SK and Japan but Wanna1 also has a US tour, no? There's not secret about how to train good singers and dancers. They just have to be willing to invest in the teachers to get the girls to that level. Those teachers obviously exist in Japan already, and they obviously know how to do it if you're speculating their goal is to reach 46G level. You realize that person is shading Gaeun the veteran because the CNC girl has been a trainee for 6 months and got a better score or something? Uh, I think you're completely misinterpreting the question. The person asking is wondering why people who would vote for Sakura as their 1-pick like her. I'm pretty fucking sure their answer isn't "I like her because she has the biggest chance of making the final group successful as a center". The answer is "I like her because of (something corresponding to A)".
  7. Sure, they can choose not to show some things. They show center selection 99% of the time, so this is not one of the things they wouldn't show. They didn't make a big deal of anyone's reactions. If you actually watch it she wasn't shown as being greedy or anything. People just chose to be offended on Nako's behalf. And in defense of Democracy. And it also got conflated with the line distribution issue, which wasn't necessarily Yunjin's choice anyway. Basically I think Mnet portrayed it about as gently as they could. They gave Yunjin lots of time to explain her actions in her interview segments. And of course they aired it only hours before voting closed so it wouldn't affect her rank (not that that helps in the long run). EDIT: also conflating this with their hate-boner at Mnet for seemingly putting her in the later ep to save her rank, and the supposed Yusple favoritism. As a relative latecomer to popularity she was more vulnerable.
  8. Are you suggesting they not show the center/main vocal selection process even though they do it 99% of the time? Evil edit is not "showing what happened the way it happened."
  9. ... who is S. Miyu...? EDIT: oh, Shitao Miu I kind of saw that as... Jessica got kicked out of SNSD around that time so suddenly 9 was not off-limits for girlgroups anymore. (9Muses had 9 members at debut and got some hate for it. I figured since Minzy left YG/2ne1 that's why he decided to let BP be at 4 in spite of teasing a bigger group with previously unseen trainees for a while. It was also kind of funny how Sulli left f(x) and RV added a member, though apparently that had been in the plans for a while.)
  10. There's currently a rumor that there will be a 1.5 year exclusivity period with few/no additional details (like whether it's going to be the same for both k-trainees and 48G members); Mnet has not confirmed anything, nor has the Japanese side, and the contestants deny any knowledge of what may be in the contract. IMO the likes of Wanna1 is a full-time job, not a side hustle. It's not really feasible for the japanese members to be kennin unless they really just plan to skip out on lots of appearances and such (if they can't speak korean that can be understandable for some variety shows, though). I guess if Miho and Miyu make the group they might as well go full-time.
  11. kkureee and goeun's ad lib after yuri's F#5 are both E5s, now that I check. EDIT: ... and so was Eunbi's ad lib. Huh. Miho sings E5 briefly sometimes and Chaeyeon's highest ad lib was also E5. And the "naeyo" and "look at my look at my heart" in Rollin' Rollin' are D#5 so it's not... low, and not weird for Wonyoung to struggle with it (I think think the interval between the previous note and naeyo makes it more difficult). Nayoung's highest ad lib is F5. So is Yunjin's.
  12. I dunno about Pledis. If Yunjin was really like "if I don't get into this group I'm going to leave SK" then she can't be too impressed with Pledis's plans. And Gaeun has raised her profile a bit with P48 but I doubt they'd let her go solo. And if they only sent these 2 and Yunjin has been a trainee for less than a year then how many female trainees do they even have around...? Juri is "the same me in the same country"? XD
  13. Depends on the songs and some other factors (viral dance move, for example). How is that not racy? Isn't she taking a shower because she wants to be clean when they have sex? I mean, there are girls who are really being made on this show, but the subset of 48G k-fans that actually vote in SSK (not to mention the subset of all 48G k-fans regardless of voting) does not necessarily resemble the overall makeup of 48G fans that vote in SSK. I don't think Chaeyeon was close to debuting in Twice... she was on the elimination show that formed the Twice lineup but iirc she was the first cut. I think ppl are misunderstanding the "general public" thing half the time... like, you don't think the debut lineup can be successful based solely on Produce48 fans do you? Sixteen's ratings weren't high, either. The GP has to pay attention because that's where new fans are going to come from. So the lineup produced by the show has to still be appealing to the GP. Though I don't think the rules are that hard or fast. The songs are a huge factor. And of course outside of the hardcore fandom earned (the ppl who buy albums, merch, and concert tickets) the GP is important because of CFs, especially because it's a girl group. Like you don't think Subway would sign HwaSa just because Mamamoo fans like her, do you? Hardcore Mamamoo fans can't eat enough sandwiches on their own to make Subway happy. She/Mamamoo appealed to the GP, so she got signed. Otherwise, they might as well cast a generically cute girl who is an unknown to the GP (like Ahn Yujin in her contact ads).
  14. First of all your question is a mess, but do you mean the on-site voting or the ranking results from last week...? Not that it validates all the high notes in kpop, but almost everyone here probably is a soprano.
