I hadn't heard Wonyoung's english before
-
Yujin is emcee, I guess
-
"Aizu on me" is the catchphrase... had they already been doing that? I blipped out for a little while and only caught some official youtube uploads so I haven't been getting into the deep lore or whatever
-
Woke up according to keikaku and saw the MV, I was a little underwhelmed by the teaser medley but the song is good! The line distro also seems pretty much fine (as expected) and there seemed to be nice parts in the choreo. And of course they all looked good. Haven't heard the rest of the songs yet but showcase is starting.
Mospick produced La Vie en Rose, some of his work include:
Hate - 4MinuteCrazy - 4MinuteHobgoblin - CLCLike - CLCLip & Hip - HyunaMirror - FIESTARMAZE - G-idlesr: https://onehallyu.com/topic/733598-izone-la-vie-en-rose-is-produced-by-mospick/
... well he has range, for sure. XD
This MV repeating better count in youtube views

Surprised it was less than 2 times, they started pretty on time. XD

i understand your point and agree that music isn’t INHERENTLY apolitical, but i feel their concern is coming across as malice at this point and is misdirected, especially in their attempts to quell this so-called problem
Of course they're malicious, but if they get what they want out of it (less Japanese entertainment in SK) then it's not really misdirected, is it? :\
I'm going to pop off to bed... will hopefully wake up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed a few minutes before the showcase begins so I can check out the MV first!
-
honestly it would be laughable if so many people didn’t hype it up as truth. izone is supposed to be a collaboration and a bridge between these two countries’ entertainment industries and people are using them as a soapbox for their nationalistic hatred
it’s music, people. save the politics for actual political issues.
Casting AKB48 as a japanese right-wing institution is one thing, but pretending music, even pop (or maybe especially pop), is apolitical and thus an inappropriate target of these malcontents is incorrect. Entertainment is soft power, that is why the SK government supports hallyu (and the Japanese government supports (???) "Cool Japan"). Likewise, that's why these nationalists don't want Japanese entertainment making inroads in SK or getting attached to hallyu. (Obviously it's annoying/inconvenient for fans (and worse for the idols themselves) but....)

The "batter" in first pitch ceremonies in Korea dont actually try to hit the pitch
Watch and be amazed

Anywho I'm here the Triple center idea. It really makes sense. Though in Japan promotions I wouldn't be surprised if Sakura became the main center because of her ability to speak Japanese. It may start to switch up if Wonyoung or Yuri get better at Japanese as time goes on.
I figured the triple center thing only happened because after switching to Sakura it would look weird for the formation to immediately revert the same way when it went back to Korean. I figured from when Sakura switched that Yuri would get a shot. But their other songs are not like the Pick Me song, generally, so people will have time in the center even if they aren't the center.

The content I was looking for
This... actually counts as pretty good? Wonyoung started off the mound but it got to the pitcher and he didn't have to go much out of his way to catch it. It wasn't hittable, so Sakura's swing was... a swing, even if totally late. XD
-
lol, well I think the expectations on the batter is actually lower than for the pitcher... especially since the pitcher often doesn't send them a ball that's feasible to hit.
-
It is really just the way they're doing things that's make me go ? Why release sell of M&G tickets before concert tickets when you need a concert ticket just to get in? That's very out of order to me.
Anyway it seems the Philly venue is announced on jsj Facebook and I've been there a few times actually. Still waiting till it appears on their website before I buy my tickets though. I'm a suspicious woman lol
Trocadero was pretty much the first that came to mind when I was wondering where they would go. XD I've only been there once. IIRC it's very... black inside, I guess. No assigned seating, though.... :\
-
Youngjae sounds heavenly there. Really hope to hear more solo music from him like the others.
Also looking at this ticket prices and complaints...I'll probably wait on buying tickets. I don't think the Philly tickets are on sale yet but I am still gonna wait for concert impressions to see how organized things are.
Dunno about how shoddily things will be managed, and maybe things have changed since they initially announced the ticket pricing, but the Indio Springs location has $60 tickets, so I'm hoping that there the lowest priced tier in Philly would be similar... it's not like they'd get a huge venue so I don't think even the worst seat in the house would be completely terrible, anyway.

Minjoo and Yujin on VLive~

This is cute but why are they dieting.
OK, I understand why Eunbi would diet (even though I have no problem with her looks myself) since she's a little thicc compared to other kpop idols but Nako is teeny tiny so won't she just disappear?!? Nako maybe you can just exercise to build some muscle tone instead? And cardio to improve stamina. Even if you're stronger and faster than Sakura already promotions will be really tiring if you don't have strength and stamina....

They just said the contract gonna be exclusive for the FULL 2.5 years ...I don't know how to feel about that ..they basically said they are suspending all their 48g activities for that period I don't know how there wotas will take this news...
Sakura is the center btw
Wow, I wasn't expecting that, although I think it's best that way (although I also think it would have been ok to have them participate in some handshakes throughout the entire contract period... for SakuNako it's like 8 times and Hitomi it's like 4, right? Or maybe 10 and 5 if there's an album along with singles. I was under the impression that even with lots of teams participating on B-sides there are still some girls that have no presence on their official musical releases (theater girls, right?) so it would be fine if they did not participate at all and still did some handshakes. Maybe not all the handshakes, though, especially if they go on multiple days.)
ANYWAY. I was kind of expecting just a 1-1.5yr exclusive period, but when you think about it, it's probably going to take at least that amount of time to ramp up to "peak"(ish) popularity, and then it would be a waste to just have the J-girls go part-time at that point. That should be the time to do larger-scale tours and such.
Now I feel like AKS was actually testing the water with Sakura and Jurina, the lower rank among the 2 in pd48 early ranking would be pulled back to AKB to hold their fort. (I know Jurina withdraw from pd due to health issue but I can't help but think this)
If Jurina hadn't had her scandal/breakdown and stayed in P48 and got into the final group, either way next year there would have been no Jurina and no Sakura in SSK. o.o That would be pretty weird....
worst thing that can happen to sakura is for her finances to be cut cause i heard that newly established kpop groups gets barely anything from their wages
Newly established groups usually have to put in a lot of work before they can even get CFs, but IZ1 already has a bunch of CFs lined up for them. (Twice also had by the end of Sixteen, iirc.)
They would have offered J-Line extremely attractive contracts that they couldn't refuse, better than they are getting now to for them to have signed up exclusively for 2.5 years. The way I see it, they will be spending greater than 50% of the time in Japan and China. The Korean market is too small. Japan and China is where the money is.
I dunno about this... can't AKB management unilaterally transfer girls between groups/teams? Whereas here the girls even opted in themselves even if they didn't know the full terms ahead of time.
still dating scandals in kpop won't result in members getting punished by the management, unless we are talking about old kpop,..
Sasshi is a queen tho, so is Takamina
From my understanding there were extenuating circumstances, but... unless Cube. >.>;;
I don’t know anything about Akb and their system so I’m going to remain silent on that issue.
But I do hope that everyone gets fair and equal treatment. That makes for a better team all around, of course some members will be more popular but I hope they fairly distribute everything well the Main Vocal should get more lines in my opinion.
I don't think main vocals can be too favored in a group of this size, but they will get ad libs on top of the normal share of lyrics. And some members (((Hyewon))) will probably get slightly less, but looking at how IOI was handled I think it should be reasonable (even if it's supposedly up to producers I think they were given a mandate to not make it too uneven.)

lololololol
In Korea, she has to live in dorm, I don't think she would have place to record her game like usual.

I don't think it would take much space to do recording... depends if her gaming rig is portable enough, though (I haven't seen it).

Hm... this outerwear line is pretty boring. Someone speculated their outfits during the songpyeon-making were from a endorsement shooting (do models usually get to keep those outfits?) so I kind of hope that's still the case. XD

As far as the J-line goes, Sakura and Nako have the most status to lose, obviously, but Hitomi's situation within Team 8 actually seems more... precarious? Since it's the one girl per prefecture thing. I guess ultimately if she has to miss too many activities and they wanted to replace her she would just get transferred to another team, but that's a shame.
What I think AKS should do
:Bring back the real center of HKT48 then IZONE can keep Sakura (and Nako but well that won't change things much tbqh)
I can still dream right , I know Haruppi's still alive somewhere ! I thought someone said Sakura had more push within AKB than HKT, though....
you will see a lot of new people joining this thread, and there's a possibility of some dropping the group if it didn't fit their taste, the line distribution war is gonna happen lol maybe some akgaes will show their true color if their fave didn't get enough lines lol

I don't know how W1 is, but when I looked at a couple line distros for IOI it seemed pretty reasonable to me. Most people got two small parts to sing, Sohye tended to get a bit less, sometimes some people had a little bit more, but the main vocals didn't just take over everything.
I want to say something, but I won't go all the way there because this thread is more or less pretty peaceful and it's too early to get into that kind of argument when the group hasn't even fully debuted yet.
So I'll just say to those certain fans (they know who they are) that a lot of genuinely GOOD girls were eliminated who could have gotten and would have desperately wanted this position in Izone. So please don't speak flippantly about certain members participating in the group activities as if it's some kind of part time job. If they don't have the time, or rather think they are putting a "better career or opportunity at risk" just to stay in the group, then they were better off not participating and putting the group dynamic at risk in the first place. Otherwise it will just annoy a whole lot of Izone fans. Not sure if you're referring to me (actually I guess it's possible you aren't) but I said what I did earlier because PD48 was obviously just one activity out of many that the J-girls had, just like any random gig is one activity out of many that a debuted k-idol might have, so it's understandable even if it's not the ideal way to compete on the program (and it was non-ideal for the program because they didn't have the leeway to do various promotional activities, and thus non-ideal for the eventual group). And right now that's how they handling IZ1. It seems fine since IZ1 hasn't actually started "for real" yet, but I think it will kind of be a problem if they don't ramp down non-IZ1 activities at some point. I'm sure there's some flexibility but if they wind up missing a lot of IZ1 things it will be a bit of a loss to the group and their status within the group. -
I hope that these constant trips of j line to Japan end when they debut. I really want them to settle down in Korea and be able to spend more time with the other girls.
Also to, you know, actually be able to buckle down and properly learn all the singing and choreo to a high level instead of the "sometimes they just learn on-set when they're filming the PV" nonsense they apparently do. And preferably not like how they were basically part-timing PD48.

Yena, Eunbi, and Yuri are absent... for a moment I wasn't sure who I was looking at but it zoomed in and it turned out I was right, whew.

Stone M. is a large music distributor, this is their main business, not artists management. Maybe they just want to focus in their core business.
Oh, I thought Stone M. was already separated from those functions.
<wikis>
OK, Stone was separate, but then "In May 2018, CJ E&M Music was merged into Stone Music Entertainment." >.>;;; These utter weirdos. So now they popped that part out again, or at least some of the artists, and we have OTR. Maybe they just wanted to avoid having a management agency with the same initials as SME.
As for sakura and yuri, a certain sakura stan would assert that sakura is too kind and generous and angelic and benevolent to hold things against yuri (which is why as her fan he should be extra dickish about her general existence to make up for it, I assume).

I think it's just mint chocolate xD
I wonder if Nako was wondering if it was going to be a trick... I saw Tomu eat a wasabi cream puff once, like a champ.
-
The girls get to eat baskin robbins... but will they get a BR endorsement?
EDIT: why is minjoo the only one eating, why did Nako refuse it, is it some weird flavor? XD
EDIT2: 7 onscreen now, Chaeyeon seen earlier, no Yuri, Hyewon, Hitomi, or Sakura seen so far iirc
-
It's sad that PLEDIS is not their company anymore.
Pledis always produce good songs and we know that Pledis will not overwork the girls. orz
EDIT: nako still there for vlive... hitomi though?
-
Hm... will the Pledis CEO or whoever still produce the first album or whatever, then...? I guess the one thing is not necessarily connected to the other, but still.
-
Not to be picky, but what is Asian dress? She clearly doesn't mean Japanese/Chinese/Korean, and she says there are various ethnicities, but then "Asian" is so vague. XD

I kind of hope she's not actually fluent... and hasn't been looking in certain places at comments. T.T (Though I guess it's bad enough if she went to look with google translate turned on....)
I guess lots of kpop idols get hate in korean already, though....
