  1. <is managing B2-C6 today, hmmm> I should really just pick up a set of warmups to just do, rather than "today I woke up and this was possible!!!" >.> I can usually sing most boygroup songs in the original key as well as up an octave, though most boygroup songs don't seem to go particularly low. I think Crash has D3 at the beginning... lulz, it does not sound that great live, either. XD
  2. Well, I think they all get singing parts in 3.6.9, so... an opportunity! If they ever perform it.
  3. There should be... I heard that lots of Babyz that go to fansigns are Japanese (obvious on the attendance lists?) and both dates did sell out in... very few minutes. He gets an advantage because he's not subject to the whims of cruel stylists, though. ^^;
  4. I'm not sure what you're basing "Koreans only care about Hanteo" on? But even if it were true, isn't that just because Hanteo has numbers all the time while Gaon only puts out actual numbers on a monthly basis, so it's easier to look at Hanteo to get an idea of how things are going?
  5. Well, iirc that's supposed to be the case. XD I mean, I think in the last list things were a little stretched, like are Davichi really idols, especially Haeri as opposed to Minkyung? So maybe they'd put in some non-idols for context, but otherwise....
  6. Well, technically it's just supposed to be idols, so I don't even know if all these groups quite qualify. XD
  7. Guys can grow until they are ~21; I'm not sure about DH/YJ/JU, but it's definitely too late for Himchan and BYG. XD Got 99 problems but a good song ain't one~~
  8. Between the two of us I guess they'll figure it out, yeah. XD Well, leave him in because I left out the mixed groups from my group list (couldn't be bothered). ^^;;;
  9. No, i mean before you seemed to have all group members listed, including rappers like Zelo. They're pretty much only going to look at main/lead vocals, so....
  10. @elolery Good job, but you didn't isolate the vocal lines?
  11. Ah, thanks. Huh, they are actually quite old; am surprised they are so singular on this list. Yep, unfortunately. Yeah, Block B did very very well last year, if it weren't for Problems B1A4 wouldn't be all alone, amongst the 2011 boygroups. XD I'm feeling kind of doubtful about physical sales these days. XD I mean, b.a.p had random photocards and 11 fansigns for One Shot. Teen Top had a special edition, I dunno about photocards, and something like 18 fansigns for #1. Exo had what wound up being 29 (!!!!) random photocards (I don't know if some were K- or M- only, though), and around 20 days of fansigns, which may have included multiple fansigns in one day (although many of those may not have included M, or only included M). Shinee had at least 10 fansigns for Dream Girl. I have no idea about b1a4 or infinite, but it seriously makes me wonder how much these sales would shrink by if only 1 album with no variations in packaging were released and there weren't any special promos going on. (So what I'm saying is, maybe Block B didn't do any of this, an that's the real reason why their physical lags a little compared to their fancafe numbers? Of course, they still had the Thailand problem last year, which probably made it harder to draw in fans.)
  12. Well, I guess at this point we need to break it down to a slightly shorter list, at least. ^^;;; That is not v helpful. :p So even though the breaks in ppl's voices are somewhat standard, their comfortable ranges are not?
  13. @Ahmin, yeah, I didn't think so. XD But what should be the standard comfortable range? @Josias http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_South_Korean_idol_groups_(1990s) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_South_Korean_idol_groups_(2000s) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_South_Korean_idol_groups_(2010s) <is helpful!!> On the basis of not having disbanded and having an english wiki page (ie. leaning towards being relevant to i-fans interests), the long list would probably be: Shinhwa 1TYM Fly to the Sky MC the Max 5tion Leessang Brown Eye Soul TVXQ+JYJ Buzz Trax Vanilla Unity SS501 Super Junior Big Bang FT Island Shinee 2AM 2PM DNT UKISS MBLAQ Beast CN Blue One Way DMTN LED Apple Teen Top Infinite F.Cuz ZE:A S.M. The Ballad - Jino 10cm Block B B1A4 Boyfriend N-Train MIB MyName AA CHAOS B.A.P NU'EST BTOB EXO JJ Project VIXX A-JAX C-Clown Phantom Lunafly 100% History Lu:Kus / X-5 These promote mainly in Chinese/Japanese: Too nugu to have a page or a hiphop/rap group that I may have wrongly assumed has no real singers: (I took some liberties with those on the first 2 lists, because I think m4m are relevant to some ppl's interests, etc.)
  14. Not to pick on Bom (then again, why not?) but sometimes I see some of her slightly more realistic if uninformed fans despondently say that "her voice used to be good, but then when she was in 2ne1 they made her sing in a higher range and it doesn't suit her and it's all ruined now" etc. (Yes, in the range of Bom stans this qualifies as "realistic".) Now I know that she was never actually good, but is there anything high about the range she sings in for 2ne1 songs? I just listened to the beginning of that video (the song that comes before Fire) and I picked a random note she seemed to be straining on and it seemed to be like a G4. So what is the 1-1.5 octave that most sopranos should just be able to sing? I feel like this is something that should vary depending on the individual, but I've also seen ppl here make statements along the lines of "Chest/mix/head voice for women stops/starts at (insert 2-3 notes here)" so maybe the comfortable range shouldn't vary too much.
  15. Hah! I thought of you when I saw the news. XD
  16. Hi ahmin! Did you give up on akp or something? XD
  17. You are taking this so very well, frankly. XD To emphasize a few things some ppl who disagree with the purpose of this thread don't seem to understand: 1) You do not have to like a vocalist who has good technique just because they have good technique. 2) You do not have to dislike a vocalist who has poor technique just because they have poor technique. ^these 2 should be obvious, but there have been ppl who've shown up here claiming "well, you'd better stop liking kpop now because all the singers are nasal" which, no. You can like them in spite of their technical flaws. Likewise, pop artists' success is rarely based on their technical merits anyway. Britney Spears made it ok to lipsync all the time, even. >.> But anyway, if you keep this in mind I think you can get a lot out of this thread.
  18. http://ameblo.jp/bap-blog/ Official goods for LOE Japan Why didn't the US get a hoodie?!?!
  19. b.a.p has 96,775 now; a month ago I didn't think they'd be able to exceed 100k this year before their next round of promos and I still don't think they can, but it's pretty nice. Teen Top has about 92.7k now while Block B's lost a couple hundred (poor kids) so b.a.p will still be #14. ... wait, who is "Buzz"??? XD;;;; (b.a.p got to tour first, but in SK I think progress-wise they are a little behind where b1a4 was in their second year; apparently b1a4 already had more than 100k... well, musically it will depend if b.a.p's next single peaks in Gaon's top 10, or the next one if they have 3 this year; and then endorsements and if they have any time at all for variety... though I guess b.a.p's image is just not particularly like b1a4's. Anyway, the reason why I bring up b1a4 is that I don't think it's very meaningful to overtake Shinee since they're an older group, Block B has problems and no promos, and I don't know who Buzz is, which basically just leaves b1a4. XD Also, the Exo fancafe is their official one, so... I seriously want to know just when their numbers will stop being so pathetic. XD;;; SOON.)
  20. I feel like it is yet another first for b.a.p! Never before has a kpop group gone on tour so briefly into their careers, and never before have they so swiftly admitted to their actual height!! b.a.p daebak!!!!!
  21. Checking up on the incremental progress of Daehyun, 'cause that's how I roll. XD F#5 at 2:43, guess that's falsetto? C#5 at 3:24 is a belt, isn't it? Since it's a fancam I suppose one can't really hear how he's doing. (If you think it's clear enough, do tell me all the things he's doing wrong. XD ) EDIT: made a newer post for this since no one bothered to respond to this one anyway. :p
  22. 172cm and 66kg, then. As usual, the weight is normal, while the official height is inflated by maybe 4-5cm. XD Except for Zelo! It must be terribly inconvenient that he is actually that height and can make them all look especially small without their shoe lifts!
  23. I haven't really come into the b.a.p thread before because it was already huge (and kind of... seemed like a lot of OT chatter as happens when a community is in place for a while) but since 1H just rebooted recently and then akp rebooted and is utter ass, I thought I'd come say hi. :D I was wondering, did anyone notice that IN AMERICA, idols apparently don't lie about their heights? XD http://itsbap.com/post/50955176121/member-introduction-time-b-a-p-live-on-earth-new http://itsbap.com/post/50956554975 BYG 175cm (this is not 180cm) 65kg (oh good, he supposedly gained weight since debut) natural-born leader laid back singer-songwriter gummy smile sports fanatic <--really?
