lol, I feel all of this. Especially the live performance stuff. As sb who gets motion sick, it rly is awful when the cameramen try to be artistic by, like, quickly zooming in and out to match the beat or spinning upside down when a guy does a flip or smth. I just want to see some of my favourite pretty people do that thing they do! But in the end there are few good shots of the dancing, weird close-ups, and, for dance songs, the camera work has probably been excitable enough to make me feel dizzy and sick Btw, just to add smth to the thread, have Nada's mix tape,

About only I-fans liking nugu groups, I think one thing is, like, if you're an I-fan, Kpop is probably already a bit ... niche-y? So maybe you'd be more open to liking some of those groups that aren't popular in Korea (though, like you said, some of them are popular in other countries - see Choshinsei and Boyfriend in Japan). But if you're a middle schooler in Korea and literally all of your friends are obsessing about Twice (just for example) then you don't want to be that one loser who's on his own obsessing over Sus4. You see what I mean? Saying that, the Big3 branding is super strong and, yeah, not always deserved.

np ^^ Thinking about it, I guess most Kpop groups that go over there do try to kinda skip the whole indie idol phase

that wasn't on a major label though. A lot of Jpop idols start on tiny labels, basically performing at shopping centres to flog CDs, and if they can show that they've got a decent fanbase a bigger label might pick them up. And, well, that's what's up with Mr.Mr, so hopefully they'll get good promotions now
