  1. i don't think bts will have another comeback anytime soon. maybe bp new song
  2. i think d4 will be first to 1 billion. idol slowed down too much
  3. all the companies sent their best trainees to p101, p48 was obviously full of the mediocre leftovers. first place in p48 wouldn't have even made top 11 first season
  4. this just proves youtube doesnt need to count views differently depending on the country the video is being viewed from. they can just adjust how much they pay out. silly theory tbh
  5. for fake love they initially reported the view count number and then later the official adjusted by youtube number. they didnt really make an error and they don't need to apologise for that. they explained in the article why the number changed this is not about wanting lower numbers for group A or higher numbers for group B. this is about sufficient evidence. a youtube spokesperson is enough evidence. the same exact source just proved their reliability. theres a lot reaching needed in order to believe there is even a slight chance the previously reported numbers are false. firstly a journalist would need to risk their reputation and career by pretending to have spoken to a youtube spokesperson, report false numbers for no reason and now that its confirmed that the numbers they were given for idol are correct you would need to believe that someone at youtube with official numbers would be willing to speak with the same exact person who made false claims in the past. it just doesnt make sense tbh
  6. unnamed youtube spokesperson told billboard 45 mil and now youtube official confirms it. if anything this proves that we can trust the numbers billboard reported about previous MVs
  7. looks like you can use subs to predict first day views
  8. Because the user i was replying to asked "Where is this talk about deleting views even come from tbh?". People talked about deleted views because it at least looked that way.
  9. happened on the second day. from 62 down to 57
  10. seems like you can't filter through specific dates anymore. that sucks
  11. artist insights not working anymore?
  12. download numbers have been hidden for all songs since the beginning of this year. gaon wants people to use digital index numbers instead. maybe downloads will be released at the end of the year but i don't think so
  13. i don't think gidle will ever be a top girl group. feels like ohmygirl all over again, theres a lot of buzz and the song charts decently on release but something is missing. they lack star quality. they have okay visuals but none that really stand out much, they are kinda basic not just visually they are kinda boring in general. soyeon stands out but not in a good way. she gives off trashy iljin vibes plus shes super short. i don't think theres ever been a popular girl group that doesnt even have one individually popular member and that is the problem. they will be stuck at lovelyz level popularity forever unfortunately... also doesn't help that everyone just thinks they are cheap imitation blackpink
  14. its because those artists were really nugu before
  15. kworb wasnt tracking the views on the mv initially so it just evenly divides the views that it has among the weeks since release. same thing with momoland bboom bboom
  16. i think youre looking at fake love by accident... x
  17. if dna got 1mil views per day for the rest of this year it would be at almost 600mil exactly. the new comeback will give it a boost so maybe. but then it would need 1.1mil per day avg for the rest of next year to reach a billion before 2020
  18. when will a group reach 1 billion? i think it could happen next year or the year after
  19. did you reply telling them those songs were released before this year?
  20. music shows have barely impact a song's popularity most of the time. no one watches them. variety shows help a bit more but even then its not that much. but fans love to make the excuse that their fave's song wasn't promoted much or that the group they don't like promoted a lot
  21. dddd is now most viewed 2018 korean video. congrats!
  22. i never really said views were the main cause of any artists success just that it can be a contributing factor. I don't know what caused momoland and g-idie to rise to fame but i'm pretty sure the view counter gave an additional boost to their momentum once they were already rising. it got a lot of people curious when they saw the high view count on a group they had never heard of before. so people got curious and then they check out the video and some of them like it and are now fans. it helped them at least a little bit
  23. its not about amazing anyone or mediaplay. its about perception, to most people low views = not popular and if it's not popular the quality is also probably low. so theyre not gonna bother wasting their time and checking out the video when they see it on recommended or whatever. if you see a list of music videos you're way more likely to click on the one with heaps of views. most people are influenced by the view counter and a lot don't even know it. its a subconscious thing. I know in reality popularity doesn't equal quality and the view counter doesn't super accurately tell you what is popular. but that is the perception and this will influence people. maybe only a little bit but when you're a company who invested a lot of time and money into something you do everything that you can to help.
