I agree with you about the musical identity but I feel like in this way it's difficult to increase album sales and other things generally
And that is the biggest mistake Cube is doing. This won't help build the fandom and increase their sales.
I agree that it'll be a little bit difficult to build the fandom and increase sales if their next comeback songs will give feelings like DEMO_01 ver.2. We haven't even heard the title track yet. I think it's too fast to jump to conclusions.
If you ask whose "mistake" this is (in which I think of it as a planning/strategy), it's not just Cube's, but also Pentagon's. I dare to say this because Pentagon is already a self-producing group, so they likely have wider chance to discuss everything including music compositions to Cube. Hui can pull off more concepts as we know (ballad, 90s, EDM) but with Flow Blow's participation, I take the conclusion that this newest comeback will have similar vibes to Like This, unless Flow Blow can make more than we think he is.
This is their 5th comeback as a group and first comeback as a self-producing group, but I personally feel the real deal is in their 6th comeback. I don't know much about Cube but pulling the same concept all over again isn't their style, right?
PS: Most people don't care about composers, what they care about is good quality music~

Since Flow Blow also participated in composing the title song, they'll most likely pull off something like Energetic or Like This. I am curious on what they'll bring next.
For me, staying with this line-up is a better idea since they need to find musical identity first. After all they debut as a self-producing idol group for not more than 2.5 months. I did wish that Kino composed the title track, but he composed the first track instead
I wonder what PTG wants to see from doing this.I am still anticipating so much! I am sure I won't be disappointed

Do you mind me asking where you live, there are a lot of support groups, where you can call and speak to.
Try to focus on your studies if you can, as you said you're close to graduating, and it will make your life at least a bit easier, in terms of finding a job.
Don't give up, just set targets for yourself. Try to do something nice for yourself, maybe buy yourself some flowers, or go on a walk once a day, even if just for 15 minutes.
I didn't notice your reply, sorry! Thank you for concerning about me.
I live in a small city here, and I have never found a support group before. I live somewhere in South East Asia.
I really, really want to focus on my studies but I always feel burdened and exhausted because I've learnt nonstop at school. Even when there's nothing to learn at school, I just can't study at home.
And I'm literally imprisoned in this house. I can't go out unless my parents allow me to.

so this may not be proof at all but i do feel a bit of queer on jun (even tho my gaydar is shit) and since mingming reapperead on korean tv here it is
tbqh i post this because it reminded me of the times i *subtly* wrestled my way to pshysical contact with my same sex crush (yes, girls also wrestle when we are bored). there was always some kind of tension between mingming and jun and maybe it only was their closeness for being the only chinese members and also because mingming seems just flirty even today but they were clearly comfortable with each other. NOW i'm not saying they fucked or anything don't get too ahead of yourselves with this they were pre-teens/teens by this time. can you imagine if they debuted in the same group?
and now under spoiler because i can't make it sound less aggressive even though i tried and is about this thread and you'll probably hate it /: (also: daaamn english, i don't know how to use connectors, sue me)
1st (and you can neg and hate me for this) i think half this thread is delulu and biased and the jikook video proved it. like no matter how calm and funny you post i read some comments and it's simply too much. i feel we are too close to heternormativity, like i know it's a sentitive topic because gay has no real representation and a lot of the existent representation leads to fetish lbgt people (and also i understand we gay people are used to dig for references as in the past a lot of the gay mentions were hidden under a lot of femalexmale kisses) but i think it's important to think beyond ourselves and our desires of x being with y or z being gay because YAAASSSS. stop at times (like ask yourself: may this be too much? i think we know when we overdo it). like with all this jikook thing there has been some craaazy extremes, i don't ship jikook at all, for real, but who knows? maybe they are a thing or they have tension or whatever WE DON'T KNOW, and i don't care how much of a physicist you think you are, we can be in front of the most femenine, apparently queer idol and tomorrow he could start a heterosexual relationship /and here comes my second point/ and guess what? we can do nothing about it. i see a lot of people, not only here, but saying: oh, we don't take it seriously, we know they can be whatever, korea is a homophobic country but then when a 'representative' idol starts dating: aaAAH FAKE.
and idol is not a product, an idol is a person and no matter how public we all think they are k-pop has made the greatest deal in selling us characters and we need to be better than all those entertainment . i shipped kaisoo like crazy, people: i wroTE FANFICS ABOUT THEM, but when kai-krys relationship surfaced i didn't even doubt it and at the same time some people were all bts-theorizing about it. STOP. respect idols, stop discrediting their feelings when they don't please you and your fantasies and stop with this crazy idea of gay romances being more interesting/taboo as the only reason they are valid (not talking about all of you, don't worry but if you feel @, i'm sorry). well this was something i've been thinking since at least 20 pages behind this one but to read half the responses to the jikook video i felt i needed to let it out.
I don't think your gaydar is bad. In Seventeen only Jun gives me the weirdest vibe, like when he said in a Chinese drama he was starring at, that he was more interested in the actor than the actresses. And the way he does paper kissing games, he ultimately pings me.

I know that this is not a shipping thread but I'll respond the OngNiel thread in the spoiler~
I got reminded of my friendship with my bestie. Now I kind of get a bit why I can really feel the very strong friendship in Beautiful.
I don't follow OngNiel in PD101S2, but one thing I want to add is about soulmate. This can answer everything: why they are so clingy, why Ong looked like that when Daniel suddenly appears (Sewoon video), how fast they become friends, how intimate they are (not to put in a sexual way, more like being very close), getting into bathrooms and places together, etc.
I feel Daniel is a soulmate to Ong, and I don't know if Ong recognizes this. I cannot really specify which kind of soulmates they are, like are they just friends in soul or more than that. What I can say is that a bond between soulmates are often misinterpreted as a romantic relationship. This goes to me and my bestie, since we both are too close that people say we look like a gay couple everytime. In fact there's nothing romantic going on between us. Of course this doesn't apply to everyone, but I won't go to the extent that OngNiel are dating, just that they're very intimate soulmates.

Am I the only one who has the feeling Bang PD might be not so straight ? There is no way for me to know but I just have a feeling I guess.
Tbh I also get vibes from Bang PD, especially from that Hitman Bang introduces vid. Maybe it's because of his voice tone.

If Hui is producing the pre-release, there's a good chance Kino composed the title track

There's a chance that Hui also composed the title track tho, but I lowkey hope it's Kino this time

The technicalities in the studio tracks...can they be noticed? Yes. Can they be covered? Also, yes.
You see, there are times where the strain and other technical flaws would be quite obvious, even in the studios. More often than not, you can hear them in the studio and the main concern is whether it's consistent or not, since in the studio, you'd get plenty of opportunities to try again and again.
However, SOMETIMES, the studio effects can alter the voice so much until we can't differenciate the strain and the reverb or even mistaken it for resonance. For example, Ock Joo Hyun's famous C#6 was for quite a long time thought to be full and resonant. In reality, the studio effects caused it to sound like that and it was actually quite strained and thin.
So studio tracks are generally not preferred since they're not reliable. I wouldnt say the breath-ins and breath-outs to be a factor because, well, it doesn't mean the tracks unaltered. They sometimes leave it for stylistical purposes. And even in live performances, more often than not, we won't hear the vocalist's breaths anyways. Audible breaths could indicate improper breathing flow but that might not be the case.
And it's okay! I dont mind questions ^^.
sent from your mom.
I see, I see. Alright, thank you so much for answering <3<3
