  1. Hi everyone smile.png

I left this fandom a while ago for two months to go to a leadership school but I'm back now. I think that from now on I'm going to try and make a real effort to be more active on this thread because I want to support CLC as much as I can.

To the people that I haven't interacted with yet, I'm choiyujins and I'm a Yujin stan (obviously, lmao). I hope to see you around!

I've been catching up and I want to quickly weigh in on CLC's current situation

I'm not going to lie, after Hobgoblin I really wanted CLC to ride the momentum that they had and carry on with the girl crush concept for a while. But they did just the opposite of that, and a lot of people are asking "why?" Well, CLC has a reputation for being a multi-concept group, and I think that Cube is trying to build that as their brand. By making the most quick and drastic change in concept possible, they're showing the world that CLC can change their image in the blink of an eye. I also think this because on the CLC page of Cube's website it says: "CLC shows a various spectrum of styles everytime ranging from the image of purity and innocence to girl crush!" The sub-heading also describes CLC as a "chameleon-like K-pop group." But this definitely gives me a lot of hope because I think that Cube will try to reinforce this idea by repeating the girl crush concept next comeback.

I think that the new album is solid for sure. Not as good as Crystyle, but a strong album. Personally I think that one of the B-sides would've been better as a title track. The most efficient and marketable combination of songs (that would also push the brand that Cube is trying to create) would probably be "Bae" or "I like it" as the title track and "Where are you?" as a side promotion.

I feel like I understand Cube's motives a little better now. The management has undeniably improved this year, and now I'm just praying for CLC to take off.

I agree wholeheartedly. I think they're really trying to establish themselves as a multi-concept group and honestly I think that's what Free'sm was all about. If you look at all of the tracks they each showcase a different concept. Compare Summer Kiss to I Like It, if you listened to them separately would you expect them to be on the same album? It really was a huge step in showing the public what CLC was all about. And it doubled Crystle sales so, not too shabby!

  2. HERE for Ginger subunit tho. Bring me Berry and Bobby in the same unit and like ... I'm not gonna abandon Haseul or KL but they're gonna have some serious competition

I think it's possible, but it also probably depends on the timeline of the entire project at this point.

It's 18 months Isn't it? They're definitely going to debut in early/mid 2018, fingers crossed for early.

  3. Same here. I'm excited about the next comeback. I really hope it's seasonal.

Ngl, hearing the screams in the last 2-3 non-army fancams made me emotional a little bit. I expect the Army to be fanboys of them, visuals that they are. But hearing those fangirls losing their mind in separate events...

Omg wait, link those if you can. I get it though, I still shed a tear every time I hear Elkie's high note in No Oh Oh. (I wish I was joking) (I'm not)

  4. question is, can you like a group without likint their music?

like say f.e (just for example sake not actual thing) you like minx even tho you dislike "cute bubbly music"

Well you can dislike a particular genre or style but still have their be exceptions. But normally I'd say I have to like their music. Though that's easy since it's hard to find a song I don't like. Besides country music, I'm shuddering.

  5. Same. She gets uploaded regularly on the major fancam Youtube channels so it's not about exposure. Sadly, I think there is just a segment of intl fans that only look at fancams of groups that they are interested in and won't give less popular groups a chance.

I just have this feeling about CLC though. Like with every comeback they gain a little more popularity and a little more and I can't help but feel like (knock on wood) they will get really big. It's just like a gut feeling, in my bones.
