Why do some users have black dots under their dp? sometimes it's 3, sometimes 2, or 4...

I sent it to someone, but then I looked at a thread and it seems I had to "use" the item and then send it?? (it's the first time I buy something from the market) But, can the user I sent it to still use it, or was this in vain?

that one time I tried a bit of food from my mom's plate, she always puts a spicy vegetable (i dont remember the name) in her food...thanks god she has stopped doing it bc that couldn't be healthy
