  1. I said they didn’t work hard on THIS project! Can you not read or comprehend?
  2. Key word is “HARD” work! Rehearsals fall in line with choreography does it not?
  3. Someone who is more popular than SuperM and got 155 million streams in her first week of release and had 8 singles chart on the bbhot100
  4. Taylor has ALWAYS done multiple versions! Taylor also has streams and demand to back up numbers! Billboard charts are for US only!!!
  5. Article: "On an international business trip, SM Lee Soo Man expresses that he won't be returning for government inspection on the 18th Source: Joongang Ilbo via Nate 1. [+2,003, -51] Is he not going to be there for Sulli's funeral? She's your family... what does your business trip matter? It's fine to skip out on happy events but you should make sure to be there for the sad ones. This is just wrong. 2. [+1,905, -45] Nevermind the inspection, he's not going to be here for her funeral? 3. [+1,739, -44] Then that means he won't even be at the funeral for his own artist? 4. [+136, -6] Can he call himself a CEO? This is wrong. 5. [+131, -4] I understand not coming back for the inspection but it feels wrong for him to not be there for the funeral 6. [+130, -3] This was an opportunity to see just how little he takes care of his own people 7. [+124, -2] Just proves that he's basically another trash company that only cares using kids for money 7. [+116, -2] You said she was your princess... 8. [+109, -3] Hul, how could he not attend Sulli's funeral? That just shows his true colors... there must be no one normal left in the industry. 9. [+81, -13] Come on, it's obvious that he adored Sulli. I'm sure he'll visit her later when he has time. I doubt he's feeling any better about this either, tsk tsk. Just leave him alone. 10. [+70, -3] As expected of Greedy Soo Man ㅡㅡ 11. [+69, -0] Wow, this is just wrong, isn't it? He took in a 9 year old and failed to protect her until her last moments in death... the least he could do is be there for her and send her off together. As dirty as the industry is, she helped in making his company shine... I'll be taking a pass on all things SM from now. 12. [+65, -0] After hearing that Lee Soo Man has adored Sulli since she was a child, it's personally a bit surprising to hear that he won't be at her funeral. - source: http://netizenbuzz.blogspot.com/2019/10/lee-soo-man-will-continue-with-his.html?m=1
  6. Western artist do simple merch + tour bundles but typically have REAL sales and stream to back them up! SuperM had none of that plus they had 60+ different bundle deals. Which included things like “Buy now, pay later”.. Included Free album 10 download links with their cheap ticket bundling which counted for the charts! Just to name a few of the shady tactics used to inflate sales to make it seem like they have demand when they don’t! I feel eel bad for the members because they probably won’t get paid much from their project as. SOMEONE (most likely SM since they blamed captiol records as being the ones responsible for the marketing) who has to pay for all the free music that was given away thru bundling. Nasty SM
  7. The retailers are basically confirming without confirming. If they’re estimating that the Baekyun version sold around 30,000. Then the other combined would probably be around 70-80k of international copies sold that got reflected on the billboard charts! And we all pretty much know that majority of their digital sales are from the 60+ merch and ticket bundles! They only had 4K sales of streams so I suspect that their REAL US numbers are around 48k
  8. Despite dominating this week’s headlines with their No. 1 debut in the US, K-pop supergroup SuperM has come under scrutiny over album sales in their home market that industry sources say have helped them secure the top spot. The group, consisting of stars from multiple acts under S.M. Entertainment -- SHINee, EXO, NCT127 and WayV -- topped the Billboard album chart in the first week of October with 164,000 album sales and 4.9 million streams, which means nearly 95 percent of the hot debut came from pure album sales. But multiple sources say a sizeable number of the albums were actually bought in Korea, possibly to take advantage of the members’ existing fandoms. (S.M. Entertainment) As the album was released in the US alone, the records were sold in Korea as import albums with a higher price tag and the Korean sales were counted towards the US album chart. Retailers also emphasized the fact possibly to better appeal to their fans. “Many of the albums were sold in Korea. My company alone has shipped thousands of albums,” a local record importer told The Korea Herald on condition of anonymity. She declined to reveal the exact shipment volume. On Yes24, one of the nation’s largest online record store, the eight member and group editions are ranked high in the monthly sales chart, with five in the top 50 chart. The best-selling Baekhyun version is ranked 18th between AB6IX and X1 albums on the latest October chart based on September sales, including preorders. Because the retailer doesn’t reveal sales figures of individual albums, we turned to Gaon Music Chart, the nation’s standard record sales index. (Though even the Gaon chart doesn’t collect data on import albums.) Based on Gaon sales in September, AB6IX’s “6IXSENSE,” which was released on Oct. 7 sold 31,324 copies, while X1’s debut album “Quantum Leap,” released on Aug. 27, sold 26,292 copies. These figures suggest that the Baekhyun edition is estimated to have sold some 30,000 copies during the same period. According to Billboard, SuperM’s total album sales include 113,000 CDs and 51,000 digital downloads. Both S.M. and its US partner Capitol Records were contacted for comment. An S.M. official said all the marketing strategy was set by Capitol without further elaborating. An official of the Korea Music Content Association, the non-profit organization behind the Gaon chart, was also reluctant to comment in detail, but agreed it was an “unusual case” for a K-pop group to debut abroad without releasing a licensed album at home, with an aim to maximize album sales. The group’s Twitter account didn’t shy away from eyeing the top spot, using words like “chart battle” and “assemble” in the days running up to the album’s release date. Some fans responded to the enthusiasm with humor and skepticism. “It doesn’t matter the spot we end up with, the album is amazing and we couldn’t feel prouder of you guys,” one fan tweeted. Another fan wrote, “I don’t know but they’re doing way too much. The boys probably don’t even care this much.” By Yim Hyun-su ([email protected]) Source: http://www.koreaherald.com/view.php?ud=20191016000902
  9. That was in 2017 and for the DNA single. After we figured of vpn didn’t work. They never did it again! Let’s talk about stuff that’s RECENT!
  10. I said what I said! They barley SOLD any music! When you sell cheap merch that comes with free albums and concert bundles that come with 10 free download links that count in the chart and telling fans to delete links cause you know it’s bullshit and having albums shipped outside of the us count towards us charts. You don’t DESERVE your #1 album. Especially when the artist you blocked had 150 million streams and is currently climbing the singles chart! Will Jopping even chart? Billboard know they’re system is fucked up but the stunts this group pulled is nothing that we’ve seen before. Billboard already said come 2020 the bundles are DONE!
  11. What is there to happy about, when you know you didn’t deserve the #1 spot and is getting drag for it internationally and domestically! and what hard work? Other than choreography they’re performing songs that they didn’t write or produce!
  12. The article is in naver and has over 1,000 comments. They’re getting dragged! https://n.news.naver.com/entertain/ranking/article/382/0000768423
  13. Actually artist from major labels make millions from streams.. it’s the indie artist who don’t really make any money! and if they wanted kpop fans why do these ridiculous merch bundles then to media play like there was an abundance of people buying your album when they or sm has to pay capital back for all the money wasted on free music. when you include 10 FREE albums in your concert ticket bundle I’m sorry but the is just ridiculous. Also Summer is also touring and she isn’t bundling her tickets with albums! And what gp doesnt go to concerts? Mmh I suppose your right if it’s a kpop concert, I don’t think gp would be that interested unless it’s BTS!
  14. Apples and oranges! Summer merch is more expensive than her album and even then she only sold 18k pure copies. She had over 150 million streams. Which means Stans, locals, gp is actually listening to her album. Superm barley even had 4K streaming equivalent units. When you bundle your album with concert tickets and inside that album is an addiontion 10 FREE albums! That’s just SICK and disgusting!
  15. It’s currently #1 Trending plus other #s
  16. Yeah, you don’t need a hit song to have a hit album.. especially if you have big fan base or gp support! There are are many artist who don’t focus much on singles but ok album sales like Beyoncé etc. Norah Jones album “Come Away with Me” sold 32 million copies WW and 10M+ in the US and none of her singles hit the top 10 (this was back in like 2002 though lol)
  17. Nah they campaigning to get rid of it.. in Taylor Swift rolling stone article she dissed bundling
  18. And it will stay a niche market especially when tricks and stunts like this is pulled to steal a #1 from artist that the gp likes and was streamed o we 150 million times. and that poster is right, the artist (most likely SM) is gonna have to pay back all the money they lost with these bundles. I’ll try to look for the article that talks about how artist essentially are the ones paying for the bundles! example: Lady Gaga although what she did wasn’t bundling it was similar.. during the first week of of album “Born This Way” release she discounted it on amazon for .99 cents. It sold over 440k and brought her first week sales to like 1.1 million first week. On the paper this looks good. OMG she did 1m first week in the US. But she had to PAY BACK her label because of how much money they lost. (It was OVER 3 MILLION DOLLARS lost) Bundles are the same. btw it’s because of Lady Gaga, that’s the reason album sales below $3.99 are no longer counted on the charts.
  19. You can’t bulk buy in America.. If you buy more than 3 albums at a time Neilson Soundscan and Billboard will count them as just one album purchase!
