Your thread got me curious about what were the numbers for the most selling artists and The Beatles seem to be at 183M units and BTS somewhere in the 20M. It's truly impressive, but still a long way to go.

    That’s just album sales

BTS has sold around 49 Milion total record sales globally.

The Beatles has sold around 400 million total record sales globally! (That can st least be confirmed) many included billboard have put The Beatles, Elvis and Michael Jackson as the artist who have sold 1 Billion records globally. Realistically BTS will never surprass them!

  2. Fans aren’t dealing with shit because, none of these are scandals. They’re MAD because fans DONT care.

All these have been over sensationalized stories for clicks and views.

    - The tattoo and girl issue was literally an infringement of HIS privacy.. selling cctv footage to media.

    -  Common Fender bender that they initial reported trying to allude to a DUI, then tried to make it seem like it was a catastrophic traffic violation

The comments are very telling. These people have been WAITING to shit on him or probably any BTS member tbh.

  3. (I love the acoustic version of this song)

Alanis Morisette - Perfect from her hit album Jagged Little Pill (1995). She was 19 at the time and the things she talk about in this album and this particular song in general perfectly reflects the sentiments of kfans and knetz. If Alanis was a korean celeb they would of had her head on a stick. Jagged Little Pill won Album of the Year at the 1996 Grammys making her the youngest female to win the award until Taylor Swift’s Fearless in 2010. Billie Eillish is the current owner of that title.

    LYRICS

    Sometimes is never quite enough
If you're flawless, then you'll win my love
Don't forget to win first place
Don't forget to keep that smile on your face

    Be a good boy
    Try a little harder
    You've got to measure up
    Make me prouder

How long before you screw it up
How many times do I have to tell you to hurry up
With everything I do for you
The least you can do is keep quiet

    Be a good girl
You've gotta try a little harder
    That simply wasn't good enough
    To make us proud

    I'll live through you
I'll make you what I never was
If you're the best, then maybe so am I
Compared to him compared to her
I'm doing this for your own damn good
You'll make up for what I blew
What's the problem, why are you crying

    Be a good boy
    Push a little farther now
    That wasn't fast enough
    To make us happy
We'll love you just the way you are
    If you're perfect

so sad tbh. Although this song actually isn’t about fans or media but overbearing Parents. Alanis was a child star in Canada before she mad her International debut album with Jagged Little Pill. However she made it clear the song isn’t about her parents but society.

I see. So the problem was that they have endorsed 'Stay at home' initiatives.

I still think once the government has opened up bars and restaurants and deem it is safe, they should not be blamed for going. Let alone to receive this much hate.

If anything it is the government to blame and not the people for going. In any case, countries successful in flattening the curve are doing the balancing act of opening up the country to revive economy and preparing for a second wave of COVID19.

No the problem is that people just wanna be pissy and mad because their famous. Literally ALL of Korea is out and about! All the entertainment establishments, restaurants, etc. are packed. The streets are full. People are working, productions NEVER stopped. Hell even schools are about to reopen.

They can say it’s hypocritcial of them to go out because they promoted social distance campaigns (which were during a time when it was a huge outbreak from the church).

but when they went out it was literal announced that it was ok to go out hence why everyone is out.

its hypocritical of knetz to try and drag them for doing what THEY and their friends/family etc. are also doing.

DJ Snake doesn't had a hit in like last 2 yrs, Steve Aoki is flopping with recent single and Zedd nobody looking forward to his music right now.

LADY GAGA is bigger than all of these unknowns so I agree with YG sticking with LG.

Lady Fadga is flopping like a fish out of the water! Her single “Stupid Love” is no where to be seen on the charts rather it be iTunes, Spotify, or the Billboard hot 100! That’s why she postponed her album until the end of the year LITERALLY! Not because of Miss Rona!

Her makeup line is also underperforming.. don’t let that “A Star Is Born” hype fool y’all!

I think it is in some kinda way to young people mostly since they are the ones who watch such shows but i wouldn't say to GP really and I see alot of posts about it and La Casa too but i didn't watch it personally.

Elite is one of the top 10 most watched original Netflix series. So definitely a hit with it’s farget demographic

YG Entertainment is under suspicion of giving out a bribe to reporter Kim Yong-ho.

In February last year, media reported that YG had bribed a "reporter Kim" 100 million won ($83,000) to silence reports regarding Seungri's drunk driving and drug abuse in 2017. At the time, YG Entertainment denied the allegations calling them "groundless." However, SBS was able to obtain detailed testimonies from four officials close to reporter Kim that YG did indeed bribe him to stop reporting on the former Big Bang member.

A close aide to Kim 'A' revealed to SBS reporters, "Kim received two bread bags with 100 million won in cash at a playground. He said, "Maybe because it's in 50,000 won bills but it's not as much as I thought... He even bragged about how he was going to split it halfway with his wife when he got home."

Another close aide, 'B' also revealed, "Kim said he'd use the 100 million won to pay back the loan on his Jeon-se house he took out when he moved to Mokdong. I heard Kim rejected the first offer of 10 million won but accepted the second offer after YG upped it to 100 million won. I remember Kim saying, "YG has a lot of money, of course, he should raise the amount." He added, "I heard that Yang Hyun Suk wanted to fight on the amount until the end but Yang Min Suk stepped in and helped with negotiations."

Another entertainment official 'C' recalled that Kim personally showed off the agreement he had with YG Entertainment. C revealed, "Kim boasted that YG had reached out to him first to give him the 100 million won even though he hadn't asked for it. He took out his cell phone and showed us the agreement he had signed with YG. The amount on the agreement wasn't exactly 100 million, it was more like 90-something million."

A fourth acquaintance 'D' revealed, "When Kim talked about how he got the 100 million, he didn't say he got it directly from YG but rather Chairman Won." Chairman Won is said to be a big name in the stock trading industry and is very close to Yang Hyun Suk.

In the meantime, reporter Kim Yong-ho is well-known for his 'Garo Sero' YouTube channel that he runs with lawyer Kang Yong Suk. While Kim Yong Ho has threatened many times that he will take legal action against the outlet, he has yet to file a complaint for over 13 months.

  8. Kpop all around is mediocre, stagnant and formalic. With only a few standing out! (BTS, Big Bang, Blackpink just to make a few) I mostly listen to Korean solo artist like Naul and co..

I never understood people who say kpop just sooooooo much better than the west or American music market.. because it’s like? Are you serious? I understand everyone has their opinion kpop is just not giving THAT!!! Especially when you break it down and realize that a good majority of these group recycle the same ideas and all their videos are filmed the same way with just different clothes and backdrop!

Western artist are the innovators and trend setters with kpop idols being the followers and clones!

I mean even when America and the rest of the west (mostly speaking of English based country’s here) still had a demand for boy and girl groups.. kpop industry just wasn’t seeing ours on or off the stage!

Spice Girls, Destiny’s Child, TLC, En Vogue, Pussycat Dolls, Little Mix >>

NKOTB, *NSYNC, BSB, 1D, Boyz II Men, New Edition, Westlife >>>

    Musically

    Artistically

    Visually

    conceptually

    The West >> Kpop
