  1. It boggles me how the fans of the two most popular groups constantly try to victimise their faves...

Like dude, SO MANY PEOPLE love them. The haters can always fuck off because you got so many allies and friends who are in it with you.

Imagine being a fan of a nugu group, and all you want is to find people who also like the group, then you see petty fanwars like this imstupid.png

  2. Hui is so much more important for Pentagon than Edawn yet people only acknowledges Edawn just because of Shine and that he's Hyuna's boyfriend.

It's kind of sad if you think about it. If they break up then people will mock him and forget about him. If he puts out a song that's successful they will praise it and then relate it some way to Hyuna, saying she made a right decision.

I like Edawn, however I think it was a mistake for him to debut with Pentagon in the first place since his style and voice is so different than the other members. Now that he's gone I feel like the sound on the album is so much more cohesive (imo songs such as Like This would have been better without his rap). Edawn should have been in a more hip hop group like Block B.

  3. man you’re right, i didn’t think of that and omg jinho’s enlisting :(( SHIT MAN IM SO SO SAD RN. i hope they get their first win this year if not imma flip

We still got time. Universe will work hard and get that win for them smile.png

You can always use the sadness energy and turn it into motivation and pull others into the fandom laugh.png

  4. i honestly think kino has been pushed pretty often! given the number of lines and screen time he gets compared to hongseok and changgu!! yeah about yan an :( since he just rejoined the line up and all. but i feel somewhat (I MEAN VERY) unjust for changgu :( like MAN the amount of attention he got from those 2 eras was INSANE. idk if anyone else knows this but after they debuted, there were so many threads of changgu being the most mesmerising visual ever and hoped that they would push him so pentagon would like IDK be more exposed (like how eunwoo’s pushed a lot more than his other members so as to attract more attention for astro) bUT SADLY CUBE DIDNT KNOW HOW TO PUSH AND IM SO ANGRY

Sorry but I disagree...I think everyone should get a chance to shine not just one or two members because of their looks (besides, looks wise everyone has their own opinion on who is the best looking in PTG esp. since they are all visuals lbr). I personally think it's not good for a case like Astro's where one member outshines the others by a large margin.

Changgu has great personality, smooth sounding voice, and once people join in the fandom they will appreciate and like him for sure.

Popularity for individual member in the group is not the most pressing matter for me, I just want to get them their first win before Jinho enlists next year.

  5. yayyy my signed "I MADE" album arrived!

Will upload pics and update this post in a moment!

I think there is a ranging scale. Maybe it goes from Mamamoo (idk) with the least amount of prerecord to Lip Sync Queen [enter group of your choice] who lip syncs tp the studio recording.

I really don't see the issue with idols singing to a prerecorded track. Imagine having to perform every night on music shows and sing at events and concerts. I don't think they would last. But if you are going to so a perform like that, your show should be on point.

Here is the girl I was talking about. She was in a kpop group called Blady. Her vids are pretty interesting. After watching her vids, I appreciate (G)I-dle's success alot more. It's not easy for a non big 3 group like I-dle to do as well as they have been doing.

I do agree with you on Soyeon. It does seem that when she raps it's live. If she's using anything it has to be in the low range. Soyeon is a beast. I may be biased but I think she's the best female rapper in kpop. She can sing, rap, dance, write and produce and looks lovely. She's the full package. I really don't know who to compare her to at this point. She's breaking ground.

Yes and she's even good at hosting....

    Btw don't know if this is mentioned already, but the Mwave meet and greet has Eng subs;

  6. Yuto undid his hair! Can I get a hallelujah! I know we haven’t been winning but the nominations are starting to come so surely next comeback we’ll start really making some waves in the public popularity stakes! Also I’m loving this era.

I know what you mean about popularity, apart from Hui and EDawn they haven’t really pushed anyone yet. They tried with Wooseok recently but I don’t think it really stuck this time. I hope they try again to push someone soon.

They should try push Kino next esp once he recovers.

Also kind of pushed Yan An with his hairdo change this comeback and his killing parts. I think Yan An is definitely attracting attention.

Hold up, was that Kino in the last shot in the dance?

  7. The live vocals thing becomes a moot point when you consider that everyone in kpop uses some percentage of prerecorded backing track during performances. Some more than others of course. What I found interesting from watching this video on YT from this girl who used to be in an idol group is that in the same group different members can be using different percentages of the backing track.

For example, Soyeon could be using less than 20% prerecord while another member in the group could be using 50% of the prerecord. Amazing. And it could vary between each member up to 70% if you take into account music show restrictions. I guess I've gotten off track. My point is that most groups, including I-dle,  are using some level of prerecord even when singing near live so the level of snycronization shouldn't be a factor.

Tbh I think they lack practice as OT6 because Yuqis away so much.

Backtrack wise there’s some groups that completely lipsync their stages

  8.

I’m so proud of gidle! The fact that their song is still charting on the melon charts after about a month or so is pretty admirable.

Ps, just a comment I want to make that I’ve always kind of noticed and had for a long time now but came back up in my head after seeing the recent videos of them performing their songs. Is that I wish the girls would become a little more synchronized dancing wise when they perform anything live. Because I noticed that someone may mess up every once in a while or either not everybody is on the same beat together. and as a dancer of 14 years (Haven't danced in a year or two but the skill and what i learned all those years is still very much so there), it’s kind of a pet peeve of mines and a little frustrating to watch because it starts to make the whole performance look kind of messy and like they don’t know what they are doing. Which I know they do and I know they can be great because they already have everything else down.

Who knows it may be because of there heels or the clothes in which I would like for them to have more comfortable clothes and leveled shoes so they can perform better. They may also just need to work with beats more when dancing like using 8 counts or 16 counts and learn to transition that into the beats of the songs and their parts. And teach it that way so that way when they perform it. An be like “ok when this beat drops or thing person starts to sing there line we all need to hit this next move at the specific time or countâ€.  And actually practicing like this while singing to help build stamina and just more used to it I also would say that maybe they just need more time to get better as they are still super new. But then you have groups like itzy who just debuted and already seem pretty together. And then groups like Loona where they have double the members and are also always on point.

But I don’t want anyone to think I'm judging them or it seem like I'm putting these groups up against each other, or hating on idle. I just genuinely want idle to be as great as I know they can be. and I'm not asking them to all equally be the best dancers of the generation but just more together as dancing as a group so even if someone isn't as good of a dancer as someone else at least it won't be as noticeable to others when watching them perform. and this is just honest constructive criticism,  So I just hope that when they monitor all their performances that they take a look at what they messed up on or what they need to work on more as a group to give a better and more together performance in the future.

Gidle I believe in you, i know yall can do it!!!!!!!

I mean, I guess for me it's not a big deal if it is not too noticeable. I much more prefer live vocals than synchronised dancing when I watch a performance. Also I prefer them to look like they are enjoying themselves with good expressions than dance that looks completely synchronised. Still, something for them to improve on and I am sure they will giving they are still not even a full year group yet smile.png

  9. Miyeon accidentally did Minnie's part in the second chorus of Senorita, it's a fun scene (@ 2:09). Minnie, being super professional, steps back and let's Miyeon sing the lines but can't contain her laughter. Soyeon has to laugh as well. I love these girls so much.

Miyeon's face harharplz.png Reminds me of that variety show that put a cat's reaction pic, looks the same

  10. I knew of them when cube announced they would have a new bg in 2016, in december 2015. i went and found stuff like hongseok on the ikon survival show, jinho in sm the ballad videos. then hui, kino yeo one & edawn were back up dancers, most prominently for gna - gnas secret (back up dancers on every sTage w/ clc, Also in the a MV) But also for other artists at other times. then cube was posting pictures of them on their insta. and theyre all really cute. and then when pentagon maker started, i was def stanning them.

Ahh I see. I totally missed that since I wasn’t even into kpop back then.

I don't know what you mean by material (that's why i put it on quotation marks) but what i mean is just videos about them, so mainly youtube. I think you can find 90% of pentagon material on youtube. Outside youtube only pentagon maker, age of youth and a couple of program they were in. It was easier back then cause there was only pentagon maker predebut videos and pentory didn't even exist

I don't really care about the concept as long is not a silly one that i can't take seriously and as long the song is good! They'll probably change a lot since Genie:us is the last of the PTG series

The new series would be exciting! Agree about the good song part.

Yeah there’s a lot of material on YouTube, but not a lot are subbed (I only watched clips of ptg maker since most weren’t subbed and order is confusing).

  11. When Pentagon Maker was airing i watched only like 2-3 clips(?) i just knew that cube was debuting a group through that. That's it.

When they debuted i look up to gorilla and still i wasn't much into the group and then CYFI came immediately and the "material" began to increase and i was slowly knowing them. But one day i can't remember why i listened to the first 2 albums and probably this is the main reason i became a fan. The first album is gold to me, and the second was great too, i was hooked to Pretty Pretty and cube gave me the MV right after iloveyouplz.gif (such a luck) by then i looked up everything about them.

Talent check, great songs check, charisma check, potential check etc. also personal reasons i decided to stay with Pentagon definitively smile.png

Like This is my favorite too XD

Pretty Pretty is so cute!!!! Loved the MV.

Yes their albums are so good. I've been catching up on the discography, a few days ago hooked on Lost Paradise, then Pretty Boy, then today it's When it Rains at Night (what a gorgeous song composed by Kino!).

I can't believe how underrated they are and how little they are talked about.

Where do you go to check up their material? I feel like compared to what I am used to (my other two fav groups), it's hard to spazz with universes because you'd have to do it through twitter.

What kind of concept/songs do you hope they will do next?

  12. Can I ask you guys how did you become a fan of them?

I got to know they existed first through Hui's BTS Fake love cover and DNA on Mask Singer. Thought he was talented. I also vaguely know of Wooseok because he is best looking idol I've ever seen (I remembered his avocado hair)

Then got to know the group through the dating "scandal", and then checked out their MV Shine which thought it was cute but didn't particularly grab my attention.

From the start of this year, I've been on a streak of checking out MVs from groups I kind of liked but don't really know before.

When I played Sha la la I just thought oh the MVs cool and thought the music was good. So I replayed it. Then I replayed again and again and got hooked. I particularly liked how the opening sounded and the never ending energy after.

So I watched the performance and was kind of blown away by their energy? Like how in sync and passionate they feel on stage (plus did I mention I am in total love of Hui and his orange hair? He looks hot and so charismatic).

Then I went to check out their variety show Pentagon Maker to get to know the members, as well as checking out their other music which I am impressed with how they try out so many genres. Like This is my favorite.

  13. I don't know about you but my attention is on Shinwon in this choreo, he improved a lot. I like that this choreo gives some light to the tall line

Honestly I thought all of them were amazing when I saw them dance for the first time. I've no idea who are the weaker links until I started watching Pentagon maker

I like how each of them take turns being the center!
