Now that I watched the subs turns out they weren't excited for them to "kiss" . It's supposed to be a battle of domination that's why they're all in eachother's face. The producers were still like kiss kiss I think they were joking.

So how do we define nugu? Most of the time it is obvious when someone is nugu and someone isn't based on views. For me I go based off of international popularity, but what about Korean popularity? The results would certainly change , there are some groups that people have the perception of being nugu even if they are not and vice versa. Usually if a group is in a certain tier it makes it a bit easier . Should we count groups who were once popular then dropped in popularity or semi? Like Afterschool, Secret,Nu'est,Ninemuses etc Should there be a middle tier for these groups

I didn't know that interesting, I feel it's probably only driven by female fans in regards to groups Big solo's do really well with general public though. SNH48 is only popular cause they are related to the AKB48 brand . Is this an Asian thing with girls really only following boy groups/artists? I know you mentioned they also followed gg's but I notice there is a stigma attached to following gg's or bg's. In America female fans obsess over female artists the same as their male counterparts (groups) Maybe even more so. I know you didn't imply this but it seems like there is this hidden rule (mostly kpop), that to like an artist you must be attracted to them . The girls could just listen for fun or to see them as role models I don't understand why that stigma is there. Espically if you are same sex there is that implication you must be attracted to the artist or you can't be a fan , mostly kpop I don't think this is a Cpop thing . Maybe it's cause there is more pandering like in interviews idols mention mostly their fans as their girlfriend,boyfriend or have a feminine sounding fanclub name . I don't think that there is pressure to stan one artist . So maybe it really is the image and that type of fanbase . I feel if you venture into the solo area you'll see more female fans . Maybe groups are just a teen thing so mostly girls would get into it and have to choose a favorite I remember there was a poll for 1D v FH and they tried to get FH to win , but lack of fandom 1D overtook FH. I guess it shows females will prefer male artists over females , in this example (naturally) but I still do see a huge preference for pop divas in the West to be popular with young girls more so then with male artists .

Really ? Is that what the market wants? I don't keep up with Cpop well but do listen to a diverse amount or try to but 2ne1/4minute are hiphopish. I really don't think hiphop is popular in China and a niche I know cause I follow a bit. Or do you mean as in powerful gg's cause most gg's in Cpop are doing "jpop" style. I feel Cpop needs its own style some are a hit and some are a miss. I loved Seven Sense because they were different I thought they would make it. I also thought this concept (traditional+modern) would make them pop , doesn't China like stuff that reminds them of their culture. Can I ask why is it that girl group's don't do as well as boy groups? There are a lot of bg's still around but not as many gg's . A lot either have one song or a few then fail. Like Lotte Girls,iMe,Idol Girls etc I don't follow all but know them I think Taiwanese gg's do better . I thought it might have to do with concept which is why gg is not popular. I can name a lot of bg's still around or who went longer . Is there any hope for this group I believe this is their third lineup. If they disband I'm so mad cause the lineup was so perfect . So I was reading a fanfic and someone in the comment mentioned when Suga said he liked guys with facial hair something like that. It was a Vasco/Suga fic not that it's related but I was just like oh I forgot this dude is gay (bi) in real life until that comment and I'm just like wow. It reminded me that I'm so proud of Suga in how open he is with himself, like he's the closest any idol has come to being open and with words not just actions so it's even more meaningful .
