  1. Heechul is very popular in Korea, esp with the younger generation. He helped Momo with his obsession with her in the beginning of Twice. Nobody knows here if their relationship is real or not, of course. I do think Heechul is at a point in his career where he is too high profile to afford not have any straight rumors about him with all the gay hints in Knowing brother. He was pushed into a corner. It's funny how things have changed. Eunhyuk used to be the shy conformist one with a pic in bed with IU while Heechul was the one kissing guys on stage and a male friend in his hotel room. Now Heechul is dating Momo and Eunhyuk makes a music video simulating a gay "dance".
  2. I just found out about Heechul and Momo. I have to say, I never thought Heechul would go that way. I could tell he was scared of the gay rumours and he was always talking about women in all his shows but I thought he would just stay single in the public eye. I'm not sure what to make of Eunhyuk's video. I never thought he was gay before.
  3. Yeah, that's what I do. I randomly check Reddit, Twitter and tumblr when I get the itch, but I'm too lazy to do it on a regular basis
  4. I'd like to ask a similar question - is there a good website with Super Junior updates? like TV shows with the members, live shows, new songs?
  5. I hope you don't have a third! I'm kidding. I don't know if Kangin will ever get another chance. We'll see. I thought Sungmin was gay from the very first second I noticed him. However, Sungmin of older days was totally different to what Sungmin is now. At some point he started to have an issue with being considered unmanly. It's something that clearly bothered him. There was this growing dissonant between what he said he wanted to be perceived as and what the company was fashioning for him, which was a flower boy. Heechul kissing him on stage bothered him to the point he didn't talk to Heechul for months. Maybe it had nothing to do with sexual orientation and more about what kind of male he wanted to be considered as, who knows. At least we'll always have the gifs (well, as long as we have the internet and a free society, I guess)
  6. I used to think Sungmin was gay as well and deep in the closet, but I don't know anymore.
  7. Nothing to do with his ability to dress as a woman and be funny, but yes, I believe he might be gay. edit to add that they joke about him not being funny because he is funny. He's playing a character on Knowing brother, he is a successful comedian.
  8. I read it again and I stand by what I said. He expresses enormous regret over someone. Considering his age and the feeling in the song that a long time has passed, it's something that happened during his childhood. The lyrics don't say who was abused or what happened, but they do express pain over something that happened and that is haunting him to this day. I wouldn't have bothered to comment because people can take songs any way they want, but it's clear the guy opened a vain and bled into the lyrics. Even if he is gay, gay and bi people do still have an inner world that does not revolve exclusively around sexuality. Some of you think it's a song about his inner struggle with sexuality, some don't. That's life and unless he comes out and says he wrote the song about being gay, both opinions are valid.
  9. I have no idea if he is gay or not, but this is a very heartbreaking song about childhood abuse. It's pretty straightforward and I can see why he wouldn't want to discuss it, since it is too painful. Honestly, adding a gay angle to this song comes more from the people who read it than the song itself.
  10. The male presenter in the shopping channel really liked Heechul. Heechul has been seriously shining lately. He has always been charismatic, but now it feels like people are just excited to be around him. I think Knowing brother and all the shows he got after it made him an even bigger star in Korea than before. I put my thoughts about behind a spoiler, because I do think too much and I don't want people to get upset,
  11. This looks like a group that came to visit their friend in the hospital Click here to view the Tweet
  12. So I cracked and watched the interview to see what he actually said. First thing to note is that there are two cuts after each of the two questions about love, so we don't get to see the actual flow of the conversation. As for his answer, it's clear to me he was talking about how BTS' songs express emotions without using gender and now they are not about romantic love but about self love first. The interviewer picked up on the dating angle and tried to hit them with the boyfriends for a reaction but then we have a cut so we don't know how they reacted to it. Suga returned to the main message of the album which is love yourself in general. So it's not exactly the earth shuttering statement about gay relationships that some claim, but at the same time they seem much less defensive about the issue than the regular Kpop idol and their message is a positive one.
  13. It's a pretty long skit... though as someone who wears glasses, I cringed at this.
  14. Leetteuk as a sexy maid in SNL was even more "innocent" than Heechul, but that's way too mature to link here.
  15. I'm a self confessed fanfication writer and reader so I fully support the creativity and fun involved. Sometimes, though, it's hard to separate the narrative we construct in our head from reality. We want two people to be into each other so we interpret their interactions as proving that. This is not to say there can't be gay idols or couples within the same band, just that if you find yourself analyzing tiny glances between delicate shy flowers that can't express their love or get shy while doing a planned kissing game on a show as if everybody would react the same to getting kissed, you might be on the shipping train and not the gay one. As I said, there's nothing wrong with that as long as we all remember it's for fun and there's no point fighting over ships as if they were solid real.
  16. Well damn I got some words in the translation, but you're right, it wasn't needed.
  17. I have no receipts, but I too have a feeling he is not entirely straight. In a different matter, during Heechul's little erotic show in SNL he didn't fail to bring in some gay into it with the "Oh, hyung" at just the right moment I'm putting this behind a spoiler because who knew South Korea's SNL was so sexual.
  18. I was going to write an emotional post about Life Bar and Heechul but that will have to wait, because this appeared in my life - Heechul in I guess SNL. It's dirty and hilarious even without English subs.
  19. Heechul looks exceptionally good in that CultwoShow. I like how they had a camera only on him. Someone on that production is a Heechul fan. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6hdSH4uO5Q
  20. What did Eunhyuk say? People are more complicated than a Rihanna gif. I believe Heechul has experience with women and feels some attraction to certain types, while I still believe he prefers men. When Jesse was a guest on Knowing Brother he was clearly turned on to the point she had to cool him down. This doesn't mean he's straight, but unless he says he's gay, assuming he might be bisexual is not that ridiculous.
  21. If Sungmin is gay, he will never admit it. The way he overreacted to the kisses with Heechul should have been a sign that he has a problem with it, but I was still surprised he married a woman. I don't know if he consciously did it to seem straight, I think back then he wanted out of the band and idol life. Sungmin never seemed that comfortable with the many members of SuJu and variety shows, and he was down right miserable being part of Super Junior M. I know I'm the only one thinking this, but I don't think Leeteuk is straight. I'm sure he will get married and have a straight family, but I still don't think he's straight.
