  1. Pilates shares a lot of similarities to yoga. Much of it is about longevity and maintaining mobility and core strength. For someone who is a dancer, engages in very active roles that impact the body, it is a good way to engage in what's called "active recovery". Loaded stretching, where you stretched with a weight or resistance, has shown to be very beneficial overall.

For me it's Oh My Girl. Like the group but their recent releases haven't been
    great imo.

I get it, though. The last few releases have felt like a big departure from their usual sound I'm used too. I will still stand behind my Seunghee, though!

As for the question at hand, I'd have to say Blackpink. It's not just their long hiatus between released but the noise music they started to put out. Whistle, PWF and AIFYL will always be on my playlist though. I know they'll come back eventually but I just don't feel any excitement about it now.

Keeping my husky/malinois dog happy is all the exercise I'll ever need.

    Help. Please.

I have a malinois mix... I understand. The amount of energy these dogs have is amazing! and tiring when trying to keep up...

Most of what I do for exercise isn't simple but I do a mobility routine first thing in the morning. Just making sure you can move comfortably makes doing other exercises so much easier. 5 minutes is an easy commitment and it's just a matter of discipline and after a short bit it becomes habit.

  4. Before Covid, my wife and I used to take weekend cooking classes together. A lot of the fancy downtown restaurants would host cooking classes where they taught you a few of their signature dishes. I learned a LOT about cooking going to those. Online, Gordon Ramsey has been my "go to" for learning things.

  5. Started my tapering on my diet this week. Getting married in June and want to look my best not to mention we're spending a week on the beach for the honeymoon. It is hard going from a caloric surplus and into a deficit.

To everyone else doing work, remember that consistency is key. Just keep going and even if you falter a few days, don't give up!

  6. Haha. That's was me way back in the past. But after switching into a split routine I find that I have better recovery and have better results.

Everyday I am still learning new things about fitness too

For the longest time I only did lifting and only deigned to do cardio when my coach made me before wrestling season lol I eventually learned that conditioning actually helps you recover from lifting as well as allows you to do more in a lifting session.

Right now I lift 4 days a week, run a 5k 3 days a week and do jui-jitsu 3 days a week. And with all that, I still get to take Saturday as a rest day.

  7. Generally:

    Monday, Wed, Fri: Weight lifting

Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday: Cardio-based workouts, abs work, and training my legs.

Sunday is usually my rest day. If I feel up to it, might do some yoga.

I also do some short fasted cardio in the morning everyday on Monday to Saturday.

And I do some stretching after my workouts and at night before I go to sleep.

That's a really decent split. A lot of people overemphasize one for the other, either doing only cardio or only lifting... Splitting equally is a good way to go.

  8. True!!! My new goal is to be organized enough to work out before work. It’s getting harder and harder to keep my after work workout schedule bc the hours are dragging out more often. :[

Anyone with tips on how to combine gym with work in the morning? My issue is you can’t rent a locker at my current gym so I need to bring my gear AND my work clothes. It just feels so inconvenient.

I work out in the mornings before I go to work. Honestly, I think it takes more dedication. I wake up in the morning and down a pre-workout protein shake, throw on my workout clothes and head off to the gym. I keep my gear bag in the car and bring my work clothes in a garment bag which goes into the locker. When I'm done, it's shower time, change and then head into the office where I eat my post-workout meal while organizing patient files before my first appointment arrives. It means getting up at 5am and making sure I slide into bed at a reasonable hour, the latter being hard as hell to do sometimes.
