  1. I don't have too much to add, but since this is the second-to-last episode–– I liked Daeun and Jaeho's date, they're very sweet together and I wish they would have shown us more. They never give us any Daeun/Jaeho screentime, and even separately, Daeun OR Jaeho don't get very much unless they're tagging along with another couple. It's just annoying at this point. I'm not the biggest fan of Dogyun-Jangmi (I haven't seen too much of them, since Jangmi is new) but I do think they work well together, and my heart broke for Jangmi during the date :( Unrequited love is hard, and I wish them the both truly––I liked the quote Jangmi said about how love is like sand, squeeze/try to control it and it'll slip from your fingertips. Things really are unpredictable like that. I'm the odd one out here, for sure, but I've never been the biggest fan of Hyunwoo?? But his story about his grandmother and his family pressed really warmly into my heart. Something about it felt so bittersweet and nostalgic and genuine, and I kept thinking about it for a while. I feel like there's this strange comfortable understanding between Hyunwoo and Hyunjoo, even if I don't think it's exactly...romantic––I still think that even though there's a lot of complex history between them still, they can make each other open up, so I liked seeing the dynamic between them. Also: Hyunjoo has shown a lot of personal growth throughout the show, but again, I think she's just very bright and gracious, and her happiness is super infectious. Youngjoo & Gyubin were very comfortable with each other, which––I think it reminded me of me & my male best friends, so I really can't see them (at least on Youngjoo's side) as anything more than platonic, but Gyubin's meticulous planning and his thoughtfulness in general made me d'aww a lot. They clearly have a lot in common (choosing the same book for each other) and the conversation was very sweet, but I don't think I can see Hyunwoo-Youngjoo falling apart. If I was in their shoes, I would trust my heart, and I would probably run through all the sweet memories that Hyunwoo-Youngjoo shared together. It just makes sense.
  2. my convoluted daeun theory: at first I thought she was just less perceptive (?) than some of the others, but I was wrong. she knows exactly what's going on. during her heart-to-heart conversation with hyunjoo, she kept trying to steer the conversation over to hyunwoo. during this week's episode, she keeps bringing up hyunjoo (the cookie & saying that she knows who hyunjoo likes?) and she's kind of living vicariously through hyunjoo. she's using hyunjoo to drive a wedge between youngjoo and hyunwoo, even though she's supposed to be close friends with hyunjoo. + the truth-or-dare thing––she asked gyubin whether or not he wanted to go on a date with the same person. she's probably trying to push gyubin & youngjoo towards each other so she can have hyunwoo, after she drives a wedge in between youngjoo/hyunwoo. she's using jaeho as this weird backup, like she's saving him? I already knew she wasn't that into him, even though jaeho's like 110% into her. it's just really sad. (disclaimer: I love all the contestants of Heart Signal 2, even and especially Daeun.)
  3. I agree. The translation is a bit rough and I can't exactly find the original source, so I can't confirm for sure. And if you just scroll through her Instagram comments and netizen comments, they were really hurtful, so I would understand why they would get to her. Daeun probably thought that when she signed up, she would be in the position of Youngjoo right now––pretty much universally adored––instead of being villainized. I wish people would stop jumping to petty conclusions and attacking these girls, even though we are fully aware of the fact that we are only shown parts that the editing team wants us to see. But yes, pointing fingers at Youngjoo wasn't a good idea, but I'm sure that she at least had a reason for it (the unreasonable hate) if not an excuse.
  4. They were trying to investigate Hyunjoo's nickname –– Sly2 –– and one of them eventually said that they thought 'sly' had a negative connotation. The OP said, even internationally, Hyunjoo is being irrationally hated on. They were also interested in the fact that the votes among the men are pretty evenly distributed (except Jaeho TT) versus Youngjoo winning by a landslide. + one of them was really rude and said something along the lines of, 'if she's Serin2, why is she popular?' which was referring to the difference in popularity of Serin and Youngjoo (in Korea, at least)
  5. I'm Korean and I lived in Korea for most of my childhood, so my two cents are that the women tend to walk on the side of men away from traffic. My brother always holds open the door for his girlfriend when they're out in public. I do think that since Korea is a more conservative country, gender roles do matter.
  6. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MrRaem_sK1Y I don't know if anyone's seen this yet but I feel like this is kind of spoiler-y. I saw Hyunjoo/Hyunwoo by the pier, Youngjoo/Gyubin at a subway station, New Girl/presumably Dogyun and Jaeho/Daeun ice skating
  7. I agree! I thought it was ironic how Hyunjoo said Daeun & Jaeho looked like they were in their "honeymoon phase," when Daeun is clearly more interested in Hyunwoo. Since she's an actress, she'll probably be one of the members who'll use this show as a boost to their career, but her plotline (as of right now) is kind of uninteresting and bland, so I predict that she'll attempt to entangle herself in the whole love-rectangle sooner or later. And you're right, the last five minutes of the show were my favorite too. Youngjoo and Dogyun have a brotherly-sisterly relationship, which I found off because the show had always edited it to look like Dogyun wasn't that fond of Youngjoo, lol. I'm sure there's a lot of relationships / friendships that are buried underneath the whole Youngjoo-Hyunjoo-Hyunwoo plotlines.
  8. i'm korean & my brother's girlfriend lives in korea –– she does graphic design for microsoft and she said that she saw someone who looked pretty similar to serin2. it makes sense that serin2 might work at microsoft actually? she seems outgoing and people-oriented. she also says that jang chun was the best man at her friend's wedding, and that he sang (???) something during his speech. it was pretty bizarre. i'll try to find a video if i can, actually. i'm really enjoying s2 so far though! and i'm kind of warming up to sly2. the christmas presents idea was interesting too
  9. the position evaluations were always my favorite parts of produce 1 & 2 so I'm looking forward to some great covers honestly I always think that produce 101 isn't going to work out when I'm watching the first episode but the trainees really grow on me by the end
  10. yeah I'm surprised that she doesn't get more recognition! her voice is so clear jiheon as no. 1 makes me so happy she's a ray of sunshine? what a cutie omg
