Irene was wrong for whatever happened with the stylist.

But the only "proof" that people have that this is recurring behaviour are the likes which literally don't mean anything. People like shit on their feed to show support, doesn't mean that they themselves have had the same experience.

If they have had bad experiences with her then speak out.

Anyways, the Onces on this forum are thriving, you can see them on every negative thread egging this on and ignoring all of the debunked rumours.

Speak out and possibly get sued for defamation, be blacklisted, or get bombarded by thousands of delusional fans calling you a liar?

I would keep quiet. The editor spoke up because she had audio evidence.

At the same time, it's important for Kpop groups or any singers to sing about love songs. It's the most loved topic in the world. Plus ITZY concepts attract female fans more than male fans. And it's time for them to get some male fans.

It's fine, I'm just tired of people sh*tting on Itzy's concept. Also, you think they need to sing "love" songs to attract male fans? That just sounds creepy. Miss Yuna is still underage.

That would be pretty lame to make the same type of girl group all the time. And also the girl crush concept is getting played out at this point, so a more youthful GG, or at least a “Female Treasure” would stand out

I think it would be lame, but companies don’t care if something is lame if it works. YG has established a pretty concrete image as THE hip-hop/girl crush company in Korea, which is the only reason I said it. Regardless I’m interested to see what they do.

  4. Issues with the site being down. I still have problems today with the site running extremely slow and it drives me insane. I only come on here to check out the news, but there also isn't much discussion on news, or people haven''t even posted about it. The allkpop forums are trash, but at least they have a constant flow of up-to-date info coming in.

I live in Michigan, yes, it’s nerd culture here. But nerd is not necessarily a bad term, or at least not as bad as it used to be. Star Wars and Game of Thrones are also nerd culture, but they are/were also mainstream juggernauts.

However, Kpop is not mainstream, it just doesn’t have mainstream appeal the way Anime doesn’t. Majority of American ignore a movie or a TV series because it’s animated regardless how good it can be simply because they don’t like animation, and that’s why Anime cannot become mainstream. Likewise, majority of Americans really dislike groups in music, remember how much One Direction was mocked for existing? Yeah, it happens every boy band cycle, no matter how popular, likable or successful they are, majority shuns them for being groups, especially boy groups. Now add that to the music being foreign, the members being Asian (ahem) and you have a perfect recipe to never find mainstream success.

I don’t think the group thing is a turn off for people— you have girl groups like little mix, fifth harmony, in the past destiny’s child, spice girls. Don’t know a whole lot of boy groups unfortunately. For 1D, people “hated” on them the same way they hate on any famous guys with a large female following (see Justin Bieber), it wasn’t because they were a group.

I agree that the turn off has a lot to do with the culture shock of Korea— how blatantly engineered groups are to be not only talented but attractive, different concepts (e.g aegyo) that are foreign, and the language barrier (I have talked to SO many people who say they don’t like to listen to kpop because they can’t understand the lyrics). Americans don’t like when music is so clearly being sold to them as a commodity. Not to say the same thing isn’t done here, but it’s more “taboo” and kept on the down-low, and a lot of emphasis is placed on “homegrown” groups that formed themselves.

I don't know about Mina but I know that when I was bullied in 5th and 6th grade, I silently endured it and didn't say anything to anyone because I was afraid no one would believe me. I recall someone mentioning that Mina said that there was an incident where one member told Jimin she was going too far but that was probably the only time another member stood up to her in Mina's defense.

I'm so sorry you had to go through that, I hope you're doing okay. The best we can do right now is all be supportive of Mina and other victims of bullying.

Basically, Jimin go alone & murder Mina by herself, okay. If Jimin was threatening to kill her in front of the other members just imagine if they weren't there.

But also why would the girls bring an angry Jimin at all? When Mina is incredibly emotionally unstable? Clearly Jimin going by herself would have been the wrong move. But who's to say she still won't?

where in her IG post did she say they all ganged up on her? The other members stayed behind even after Jimin left to talk with her; if they were just there to support Jimin they would've left at the same time Jimin did. For all we know they could've gone along to be witnesses and make sure nothing bad happens, because if only Jimin showed up, especially with her being angry right off the bat, so many things could've gone wrong. Mina has made it clear several times that her only beef is with Jimin and that the other members have nothing to do with it. They could've also been genuinely concerned about Mina.

You're right, we really don't know the full story, my comment was reactionary. She might have called all of them over herself. I was just speaking out of concern for Mina, and I question what has been going through the other members' minds for the past 10 years that Mina was bullied. Was Mina silent, did she not tell anyone? Have any members gone to the company to complain about Jimin's actions in the past? I guess we just don't know yet.
