  1. Had a fight with my mother. I'm really severely depressed right now and suicidal and I don't know what to do. If someone can PM me and help me I'd really appreciate it. I need help
  2. You know I think the views are generally because of how many female fans they were able to bring in through Fingertip. A lot of people in Korea really thought that Fingertip shouldn't have underperformed and they became fans. It was actually such a great move and I'm glad to see them doing well now.
  3. Yes men move on quickly to younger girls. So girl groups that rely too heavily on male fans tend to fizzle out quickly if they can't secure a big female fan base. I think GF can continue to do these concepts to keep them relevant with patriarchal korean public then every once and a while do cool concepts too to keep their female fans. They can even do cool stages at concerts.
  4. The fact that SM didn't confirm Herin makes me so scared because even now that she's on Idol School they say nothing about her. Lami CAN'T leave. She is the rock of the new girl group, the Yoona. She needs to stay. If she isn't in the lineup any more then we have to assume that they're doing a whole rehaul and that means that they may not debut next year, but you're right we'll have a grain of salt with this one. The thing is, I think that SM is looking at the competition right now. Tw**e is killing the game, Red Velvet are still at the top, BP just debuted with huge influence, GF also still a wall. Produce 101 season 1 created many offshoot girl groups as well and It girls. Companies can no longer rely on brand power to hit big right away - look at NCT. They have to compete properly and that means planning expertly. It may even be safer to debut the group in 2019 when Tw**e power will have waned by then but I can't wait that long and if they wait too long more trainees might leave.
  5. I think they gained many female fans with the last comeback because of the concept and it's working in their favor now! Good on them
  6. Hello guys, I'm also waiting for this group to debut. But here it says that Lami left! Is that true? https://pannative.blogspot.ca/2017/07/talking-about-herin.html
  7. I like that it's becoming more about the students and their dreams/difficulties! That's where School shines!
  8. Putting this in rant bc too long for bash. Ignorance is bliss. Kpop fans treat idols like Ken and Barbie Dolls that you can GIVE a personality to. They project their personalities and fantasies onto these idols as if they do not already have their own views. They're able to do this because idols usually hide their true selves from the cameras and do what's expected of them to make money. So if idols don't 'screw up' like saying colorist thing or sexist or homophobic thing, then Kpop fans can continue their delusional fantasy that their bias is who THEY selfishly want them to be: accepting of all races and sexualities, non-colorist, body positive, sex positive, feminist, liberal sweet hearts. When an idol 'screws up' people suddenly act surprised and then everyone starts freaking out then that idol gets labeled as 'problematic idol' put on a 'shit list.' People do that so that they can pretend it's just a few bad apples they have to worry about so that they can continue stanning Kpop as a whole. The reality is it's the whole bushel - no, the whole farm that's rotten. But fans can't accept that because then fans would have to accept that they are emptying their bank accounts for people who probably are, as a whole, sexist, colorist, racist, homophobic, problematic, conservative. No not all idols will be, but most are. Why wouldn't they be? Why do they think Taeyeon has 'learned' her lesson after being racist against black people before? What exactly would have made her learn her lesson? What incentive does she have to change? Who in her circle of probably anti-black and colorist staff would have 'taught' her? People make up these fantasies because they want an excuse to keep stanning and keep paying for kpop with a clean conscience. I mean people can get angry and keep witchhunting one or two people out of the bunch but they only do it because if they think it's just one or two people they can continue on fantasizing about and giving money to the idols they worship who are more than likely just as problematic as the people they're witch hunting. It's ludicrous.
  9. I support Victoria in doing what she needs to do to have a career in China and I'm fine with f(x) being DOA because of it. f(x) doesn't have any real appeal anymore and people just don't care. If it were me, I would definitely just forget about the other girls and do my own thing in China and be around the people I want to be around. Some of the f(x) members I definitely wouldn't want to be around anymore. Not to mention that people grow up and grow apart so why force them to be together 24/7 into their 30s? It's just weird.
  10. My OCD and self-image problems are out of control. I wonder if Kpop is making it worse because every time I see these pretty girls I feel like I should just die if I can't be like them. I know it's exaggerated thinking but I can't stop. And my compulsions are getting worse. Sometimes it feels like life isn't worth living. Has anyone experience with OCD or self-image? Please drop me a line if you can help or even just give encouragement. This night is particularly a bad one :(
  11. It was a bit gory but I liked it. Though the original Criminal Minds didn't get gory until after the writers changeed around 5th and 6th seasons. Before it was mostly about the cerebral terror of serial killing. I think second episode was really good and it's finding it's footing!
  12. I am liking this so far. Even though there are some issues I'm confident that things will get better.
