SBS’s investigative journalism program “Unanswered Questions” has apologized regarding a mistake from its recent episode about digital chart manipulation. The episode included an interview with a man who claimed that his personal data had been used for digital chart manipulation. He explained that his e-mail address was stolen by someone to make accounts on a music site, and the person used the account to buy NU’EST W’s song “Dejavu.” “Unanswered Questions” released an initial statement about the matter on January 6, and an official apology was issued on January 9. original post: naver 1. [+1026, -41] NU’EST I love you 2. [+881, -31] We’ve always been proud. I love all five members. 3. [+538, -10] Congratulations on JR, Aron, Baekho, Minhyun, and Ren’s Bonsang and love you!! 4. [+463, -12] I love NU’EST!!! I hope you smile all the time, the fans always support you so don’t worry!!ㅠㅠ 5. [+399, -11] Congratulations on NU’EST’s Bonsang 6. [+152, -3] This is too much. NU’EST is an idol group whose fandom is big enough to help them do well on the charts. There’s no reason for them to do Sajaegi. 7. [+99, -2] There was never a day when I wasn’t proud of them. This is NU’EST’s character. As expected from our leader. 8. [+49, -0] As expected, I’m always proud of NU’EST JR, Aron, Baekho, Minhyun, and Ren. 9. [+47, -0] I’ve never doubted it,,, We believe that NU’EST and L.O.Λ are the same mind and we never hurt each other. Thank you so much for making me happy. NU’EST’s happiness is L.O.Λ’s happiness. 10. [+46, -1] They were the kids who sold 200K copies and sold out tickets for 3 days of the concert at the Olympic Gymnastics Arenaㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I’m proud of NU’EST’s music. I love you and I’ll always cheer for you! 11. [+45, -0] I’m another group fanㅋㅋㅋㅋ But to be honest, they’re a boy group with good music.. They have filled the Olympic Gymnastics Arena.. It’s the exact opposite of sajaegi. (Source) [NetizenBuzz]: NU'EST assures fans of no foul play at the 'Golden Disc Awards' Article: NU'EST, "You can listen to our music confidently"... indirect mention of sajaegi suspicions Source: MK Sports via Nate 1. [+1,200, -122] I'm not a NU'EST fan but is there anything to be suspicious of them for? Every time they came out with a new song, they got #1 thanks to their fandom and dropped off the charts after a few days ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 2. [+990, -110] Any idol fan knows that fandoms will stream songs when it first comes out to help it rank high.. it's different from sajaegi so I'm not sure why the TV show featured them like they were doing sajaegi. 3. [+720, -230] You guys are the best for writing and producing all your songs, love you NU'EST 4. [+105, -18] I've listened to it confidently and will continue to do so 5. [+89, -15] I knew that they didn't do sajaegi but I'm more inclined to believe them for saying it publicly like this, so thank you ㅜㅜ 6. [+85, -15] It was unfair of the TV show to make it seem like they did sajaegi when it was just a bunch of fans streaming together. If they did sajaegi, they should've ranked #1 for months on the charts. If Pledis had that kind of money, do you think they would've kept NU'EST on the backburner for 7 years ㅡㅡ 7. [+72, -13] JR was so cool when he said this... 8. [+67, -14] Wait, were they always this handsome? I was surprised when I saw their award speech ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 9. [+65, -8] If this is considered sajaegi, then every idol group is committing sajaegi ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 10. [+55, -9] I don't think it's sajaegi either. They don't have enough Melon hits to count. Anyway, I noticed how handsome they are today at the Golden Disc. I went "wow" even though I'm a man. (Source) --- For those who are confused, two nights ago on the broadcast of SBS's 'Unanswered Questions' on the issue of sajaegi/chart-manipulation, NU'EST W (and thus by extension Pledis) was covertly accused of being involved in sajaegi (SBS UQ blurred the group and the song's name but not that clean so vigilant Knetz can still get the names). It was soon found out that it was a fandom streaming activity and not company-paid sajaegi (NU'EST Stream Team clarification translation here - They have all the proofs that it was fandom streaming activities). If you want to know the differences between fandom streaming activities (aka 'chong-gong' in Korean) and sajaegi, you can read more about it here. (I also want to thank other idol fandoms notably BTS's Army and EXO's EXO-L that have helped us in Korean twitter to explain to muggles who don't know that fandom's chong-gong are totally different from sajaegi. I also want to thank BTS's Army who attended GDA and changed their lightstick color to NU'EST's color during their performance and who have encouraged NU'EST fans attending to not be sad on the situation.)

Pann: 'Unanswered Questions' exposed the singers
justtree replied to HoMaLiAk's topic in Netizen Nation
I am only here to clarify the issue with NU'EST (Sorry for the lateness, I just came to OH). Anywho, NU'EST's one was a mistake that a fan made during voluntary fandom activities with real human (fans) behind them and no monetary benefits gained by the fans and NOT company-paid bots-used chart manipulation that benefits the company that paid for it. You can read more about them here: So if SBS's 'Unanswered Questions' want to accuse anyone, they should have directed them to the fans who made the mistake (Fans who made the mistake has messaged SBS directly to clarify on the situations and to ask for the contact information of the person whose email was mistakenly used so they can apologize directly to the person). But as the topic of the episode was company-paid chart manipulation, then NU'EST has no relevance to the content of the episode unless SBS want to say that idol fandom streaming activities are also considered sajaegi. LOVEs (NU'EST's fans) acknowledge that we have made the mistake to the person whose email we have mistakenly accidentally used for the idol fandom streaming activities, we apologize to that person, and we will be willing to talk to him/her about some compensation for the disturbances he/she experienced due to the mistake, so SBS's 'Unanswered Questions' team should also acknowledge that they have made the mistake by including NU'EST's fandom activity on an episode about company-paid chart manipulation, and they should also apologize to NU'EST and Pledis for connecting them to an issue which doesn't concerned them. -
DALLAS—Ryan Clare chewed on a turkey leg as he milled about the Texas state fairgrounds hours before another major sporting event inside historic Cotton Bowl Stadium. No, this wasn’t the Texas-Oklahoma football game, always held in October during the fair. Clare has never been to the annual Red River rivalry, but the Dallas resident has been a fan of hockey and the Stars for more than 20 years. Getting tickets to the NHL’s Winter Classic for the Dallas Stars’ 4-2 win over the Nashville Predators was a no-brainer for Clare, and probably many others among the 85,630 who filled a venue that used to be famous for college football on New Year’s Day. “This is kind of a once-in-a-lifetime event and everything,” said Clare, the bottom of the Dallas resident’s green No. 4 Miro Heiskanen jersey covering the top of his black kilt. “When are you going to something like this in Texas ever again?” Yes, outdoor hockey in Texas was as much the spectacle as that phrase sounds, with racing pigs just outside the rink on the stadium floor, and horses spooked by fireworks during “The Star-Spangled Banner.” At one end of the stadium, line dancers stepped to the beat of live country music in front of a stage that wasn’t far from a mechanical bull. “I understand Twitter is going nuts in a good way about the pig races,” NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said. “We tried to blend Texas and hockey. Each year we try to learn something and do it a little bit better.” The midway on the fairgrounds was filled with thousands of fans several hours before the game, some riding the giant Ferris wheel just southwest of the stadium and others on the swinging pirate ship or the haunted house ride. Some waited in line at least an hour for the other headliner alongside a turkey leg at the State Fair of Texas every fall: a corn dog. “It was worth it,” one fan said. There were so many lines, some didn’t know where one started and the other ended. Others almost ended up on the sky tram that criss-crosses the fairgrounds, when all they wanted to do was get in the stadium. “We didn’t know,” said Samantha Williams, a Nashville season ticket-holder visiting Dallas for the first time. There was some impatience in a huge cluster of fans outside the main entrance to the Cotton Bowl about an hour and a half before game time, a standstill bad enough for some to think it was the only way into the stadium when there were actually plenty of other entrances. “It’s been sensational,” Bettman said. “The only complaints that we’ve been getting is that it’s been too crowded. And in this business, you’ll take that.” Bettman said the weather was perfect in every way: a temperature of about 13 C with overcast skies that blocked the sun to prevent glare without bringing rain, which would have been an even bigger problem for the ice. The Predators took a 2-0 lead early in the first period before the Stars thrilled the huge crowd with four goals in less than eight minutes in the second and third periods. “We’re very fortunate to be a part of it, hockey down in Texas and a couple of Southern teams, and fill the building the way we did,” Nashville coach Peter Laviolette said. “It was an incredible day. You want the score to go in a different direction if you’re part of the game. But the game overall, the ice, the atmosphere, it was excellent.” The biggest difference from the Texas-OU spectacle was the fairgrounds emptying out once the game started. When the Longhorns and Sooners play, there are still thousands of regular fairgoers to see in the aerial television shots. Inside, there was a bunch of Dallas green rather than the 50-yard line split of burnt orange and crimson, and a strong contingent of yellow-clad Predators fans. Among them was Sonya Baird, a lifelong resident of southeast Texas who can’t really explain how she became a Nashville fan. Baird did say she liked the style and energy of Shea Weber, who spent his first 11 seasons with the Predators. And Baird’s never been to the state fair, so ... “I didn’t know where this place was,” she said. “It’s pretty cool. I don’t like crowds, for some reason. It wasn’t going to keep me away.” Same with Bryan Granstaff, who came from outside Nashville because his daughter wanted to attend. He wasn’t much of a football fan, and couldn’t say he’d seen a football game from the Cotton Bowl on TV. “The only thing I keep up with is hockey,” said Granstaff, a Predators fan for about five years. “Hockey and huntin’.” Well, at least half of that is quintessential Texas. As for the hockey half, it took quite a step to start 2020. (Source) The game's highlight!

SEOUL, Jan. 2 (Yonhap) -- South Korea announced their training camp roster ahead of the Olympic women's football qualifiers on Thursday, with some familiar faces to be joined by emerging teenagers. The Korea Football Association (KFA) said 26 players based in South Korea and Japan will participate in coach Colin Bell's camp from Jan. 9 to 20. They'll gear up for the third round of the Asian qualifying for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The qualification tournament will take place on the South Korean island of Jeju. In Group A action, the host nation will face Myanmar on Feb. 3 and then Vietnam on Feb. 9. In this file photo from Dec. 15, 2019, members of the South Korean women's national football team pose for photos in front of their fans after beating Chinese Taipei 3-0 at the East Asian Football Federation (EAFF) E-1 Football Championship at Busan Asiad Main Stadium in Busan, 450 kilometers southeast of Seoul. (Yonhap) The top two teams from Group A will advance to the playoff round, with the top two nations from Group B -- made up of Australia, China, Thailand and Chinese Taipei -- joining them. In the home-and-home series to take place on March 6 and 11, the Group A winner will face the Group B runner-up, while the Group B winner will play the Group A runner-up. Only the victorious teams from those two will compete at Tokyo 2020. Bell will bring back most of the players who led South Korea to a runner-up finish at the East Asian Football Federation (EAFF) E-1 Football Championship last month, including forwards Yeo Min-ji and Kang Chae-rim. One notable young player is the 19-year-old forward Kang Ji-woo. She was the leading scorer at the 2019 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-19 Women's Championship with seven goals in five matches. She was named the Female Young Player of the Year for 2019 by the KFA in December. In midfield, 18-year-old Cho Mi-jin got called up to the camp as the only high school player. She represented the country at both the 2018 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup and the 2019 AFC U-19 Women's Championship. Veterans plying their trade in Europe, including Ji So-yun of Chelsea FC Women and Cho So-hyun of West Ham United FC Women, will not be available for the camp due to their club commitments. While those two may appear to be locks for the final roster given their pedigree, Bell said they'll still have to earn their spots on his team. Bell is expected to announce his final, 20-player roster around Jan. 20. North Korea were initially drawn into the same group as South Korea, but the reclusive nation pulled out of the tournament, without citing reasons. North Korea will not be replaced. Women's football was first contested at the Olympics in 1996, and South Korea, dubbed the "Taeguk Ladies," have never played at the quadrennial event. (Source)

I don't know the inside situations between the two because Momo looks mature in mental age from the outside and Heechul seems like a normal okay guy but I hope idol and non-idol teenagers, girls and boys, don't start getting inspired from the age gap and start dating someone way above their age because even within close age-range a person can get manipulated into doing something they do not understand completely and is not well-prepared of. It's okay when the two person entering the relationships are mentally healthy, mentally capable to think independently for themselves, and are capable to set up the boundaries of things that they will do and things they won't do, respect each other decisions, and there are no manipulation between the two.

Almost 19,000 children have been sexually groomed in England in the past year, according to official figures that have prompted warnings of an “epidemic”. Campaigners say the true figure is far higher and accused the government of failing to tackle child sexual exploitation, despite promises made after high-profile cases in Rotherham and Rochdale. More than 18,700 suspected victims of child sexual exploitation were identified by local authorities in 2018-19, up from 3,300 five years before. Sarah Champion, the Labour MP for Rotherham, said the figures show that grooming “remains one of the largest forms of child abuse in the country”. “Too many times, government has said it will ‘learn lessons’, yet 19,000 children are still at risk of sexual exploitation,” she told The Independent. “The government has singularly failed to tackle this issue head on. Its approach has been piecemeal and underfunded.” Sajid Javid promised a review into the characteristics of grooming gangs in 2018, saying high-profile cases included a “high proportion of men of Pakistani heritage” and that “cultural reasons” could be at play. The Independent understands that the Home Office started internal analysis of data from police and other agencies, and will use it to inform policy development and prevention strategies. But the findings may not be published and the Queen’s Speech, which set out Boris Johnson's legislative agenda, did not include any mention of a public review. Department for Education statistics on children referred to social care show the number of known cases dramatically increasing from 2013, when grooming was recorded as an assessment factor for the first time, to a peak of 20,000 in 2017-18. Several grooming gang investigations and prosecutions are ongoing across the country, including in Huddersfield where several abusers have already been jailed in a series of linked trials. In Rotherham, where revelations over the abuse of an estimated 1,500 victims sparked a national scandal in 2012, the National Crime Agency has identified more than 190 suspects. Sammy Woodhouse, a Rotherham victim who helped expose the scandal, said she is still receiving reports of current abuse in parts of the country. “You hear this bulls*** line, ‘lessons have been learned’, but they haven’t learned anything,” she told The Independent. “I still hear a lot about the authorities aren’t doing things as they should. It’s not very often I hear something good and for all different reasons – if the police won’t act on reports, people feel they’re not being listened to or supported properly, or information not being shared.” Ms Woodhouse, who was abused by rapist Arshid Hussain from the age of 14, said the scale of child sexual exploitation currently reported by local councils did not surprise her. “I think the most scary thing is all the people it’s happening to that they don’t know about,” she added. “Most won’t report and they go under the radar. “I’ve said for years that this country’s in epidemic when it comes to abuse and exploitation. Authorities claim it’s under control but it’s not.” The Department for Education statistics showed that Lancashire recorded the highest number of children (624) as grooming victims out of any single local authority area, followed by Birmingham (490), Surrey (447), Bradford (414) and Gloucestershire (409). The combined totals of Leeds and neighbouring Bradford, where investigations are ongoing following the imprisonment of nine grooming gang members earlier this year, would be the highest at 649. Drugs and alcohol are frequently used by grooming gangs to incapacitate girls or coerce them into sex, with the criminality later discouraging victims from going to police. There are several methods of grooming, with the best-known “boyfriend” model seeing an abusive relationship used to force victims into sex with others. Children can also be trafficked, befriended online or – in the so-called party – targeted by groups of men who lure them to gatherings with offers of drinks, drugs, money and car rides. Some sexual exploitation has been linked to criminal gangs, who also pay or force girls to run drugs or keep them in their homes. In high-profile cases such as Rotherham and Rochdale, perpetrators have been much older than their victims, but police say peer-on-peer abuse by teenagers from the same school or area is more common in some areas. Simon Bailey, the National Police Chiefs’ Council lead for child protection, said officers were “committed to doing all we can to pursue and prosecute criminals who exploit and abuse young people”. “More must be done to stop abuse happening in the first place,” he added. “Those with direct contact with children need to ensure they are keeping them safe from risks through honest conversations, education and appropriate safeguarding. “Alongside that, internet and social media companies need to acknowledge their responsibility, do more to stop children accessing harmful content and prevent abuse on their platforms.” Ms Champion called for prevention efforts, including youth clubs, specialist services and sexual health clinics, police and the Crown Prosecution Service to receive more funding. “We cannot allow grooming to fall out of the spotlight, because sexual exploitation always flourishes in the shadows,” she added. The Home Office has granted money to large-scale investigations including in Rotherham and Norfolk, and allocated £7m to organisations supporting survivors of child sex abuse for 2019-20. A spokesperson said: “The Home Office is committed to tackling child sexual abuse and will leave no stone unturned in tackling this abhorrent behaviour. “This is why we launched the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse to get to the truth, expose what has gone wrong and learn lessons for the future. The inquiry operates independently of government and, within its terms of reference, decides for itself what it investigates. "The inquiry is investigating institutional responses to child sexual exploitation by organised criminal networks with public hearings set for the spring of 2020.” In a joint statement, Lancashire Police and County Council said they were “not complacent” about tacking child sexual exploitation. “We acknowledge that some areas of the county are more at risk and we will continue to work with our partners to protect children, prevent child abuse, help victims and target offenders, ultimately bringing them to justice,” a spokesperson added. Birmingham Children’s Trust said it was working with the police, NHS, schools and partner organisations to improve the identification of young people at risk. Gloucestershire County Council said increased awareness of child sexual exploitation had led to the identification of more child victims. “We will continue to work with the police and other partners including schools, to prevent it and support victims and their families,” it added. Bradford Council said the number of children assessed as being at risk of grooming was now falling, adding: “We take child sexual exploitation very seriously and have worked with young people, schools and community organisations to raise awareness of this terrible crime.” (Source)

I can kinda understand why many will find K-Pop fans' actions of sharing fancams everywhere as childish. For example, most will post fancams of other idols or other idol groups under articles totally not related to them. Some even shared them in morbid news of death and other tragedies. When others asked them to stop, their excuses are "I don't care, stream this." Now imagine these kind of things happen in reverse. What will happen if under news of K-Pop idols' tragedies, non-K-Pop-fans post video clips of non-K-Pop singers and say "Well maybe if he/she streamed this..."? K-Pop fans would of course be angry but somehow this behavior is normalize among K-Pop fans as something that can't be helped. "It's freedom of speech." ; "If you don't like them, just ignore, mute, block, report." But if there are still significant numbers of accounts like this around and some of these accounts are not even bots and don't feel guilty in doing these things even when they know it's not proper, then K-Pop fans should also just accept that there will be others that find K-Pop fans as childish. Hopefully these reckless fancams-sharing-accounts are really just adolescents that have and will grow out of these childish behaviors and K-Pop fans do more good deeds and be better individuals that will change the general image of K-Pop fans. P.S.: In my opinion, it's okay to share fancams and be cringe-y if the TPO and contexts are appropriate. Embrace your cringeyness in the right TPO and contexts!

Photo Credit: Xportsnews Ock Joo Hyun called out malicious commenters on her Instagram. December 30, the singer post a screenshot of someone’s direct messages on her Instagram Stories. The person calls her ugly, asks her how many times she’s had cosmetic surgery, and curses at her, telling her to stop “acting pretty.” In response, Ock Joo Hyun said, “If ‘acting pretty’ disgusts you, then don’t look. I wonder why you spend so much time on me. You even made a separate account for this. For me, each month goes by in the blink of an eye, and I have to send money home and get money here and there, but you seem to have so much time. I’m jealous. In the time you spend doing this, earn some money instead.” In a different post, Ock Joo Hyun said, “If I did something wrong, then of course I would be criticized. But that’s not the case, and these people who take time out of their day to waste it on others are pitiful people who are ill. I took a screenshot of this message I got and posted it as a way to tell my juniors not to be hurt by these people. I hope that in the precious time of today, you can find small happinesses.” Source (Naver) ; (Soompi)

From Daily Naver (Source) Article: [Official] CJ ENM CEO "Sorry for 'Produce' vote riggings, IZ*ONE and X1 to resume activities Source: Sports Chosun CJ ENM CEO has apologized for the vote rigging scandal. CJ ENM held an emergency press conference at 3pm on the 30th at the CJ ENM Center in Sangnam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul to make an official apology for the 'Produce 101' vote rigging scandal. CJ ENM's CEO Heo Min Heoi stated, "I bow my head in apology to have disappointed you with the series of incidents related to Mnet. "It's heartbreaking to think of the trainees that only dreamt of debut. I'm so sorry. I'm also sorry to the fans and viewers who spent their precious time sending text votes. There is no excuse for it. It's our fault. As CEO, I feel responsible." He continued, "Thinking about the pain and disappointment that you have received, I know that no actions will be enough.. However, we plan on doing everything we can to at least correct mistakes now and heal the wounds of the victims. First of all, regarding the trainees who received harm due to ranking manipulation of Mnet’s audition program including the “Produce 101” series, we will take complete responsibility and compensate them. In addition to definite financial compensation, we will take the necessary measures to support their future activities and provide practical damage relief through in-depth discussion with relevant individuals. All profits that have been received by Mnet through manipulated programs, along with the profits that will be received in the future, will be given up. We expect that a fund of about 30 billion won (approximately $25.9 million) can be developed as a result. This fund will be operated by an external independent organization and will be used for the active development of the music industry and continuous growth of K-pop." "Regarding the specific plans of the fund operation, they will be announced once the details are finalized. Necessary actions to strengthen the fairness and transparency of broadcasts will also be taken quickly. A Viewer Committee, including individuals such as external content experts, will be installed, and the production processes of programs will be transparent. In addition, the internal broadcasting code of ethics will be renewed, and training on this will be intensified." "Through this, we will thoroughly check if there are wrong actions taking place like normal practices or basic morals being given up in exchange for viewership ratings, and we will correct them. Regarding the matters that are currently under investigation, we promise to diligently cooperate with the investigative agencies until not even a single suspicion remains. Depending on the result, we will take strict internal measures as necessary." He also discussed the future of X1 and IZ*ONE stating, "We will also provide all possible support for the IZ*ONE and X1 members to resume activities. Considering the emotional pain and pressure that the members are experiencing along with the opinions of many fans who support the resumption of their activities, we will works to continuously discuss plans for IZ*ONE and X1 to be able to resume activities as soon as possible. This incident is our fault and not the fault of the artists who debuted or of the trainees. We earnestly request that everyone will help protect them together so there will be no more victims. We once again sincerely apologize to the many people who cherish and love Mnet. [+5,666, -450] Affiliates that rigged need to give up their profits too... [+6,180, -1,892] I hope CJ will pay reasonable compensation to all the trainees in the 'Produce' series who were also affected by the incident. We hope that you will take legal action against the spread of rumors and sexual harassment against the innocent members of X1 and IZ*ONE and make sure their future activities get back to normal. [+6,368, -3,356] So the member that rigged is going to stay and promote ㅋㅋdaebak! [+4,436, -2,780] I'm glad you're giving up on future profits from this. The apology feels sincere but I hope you'll be more careful in the future. [+2,573, -1,487] I'm sorry but what about the poor kids that got cheated out of their money? Am I the only one that doesn't get this? So just because they have fans we're supposed to just accept this? [+2,278, -1,404] ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋare they kidding right now? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋThey're making it sound like a minor problem with a couple of affiliate employees. [+4,090, -3,254] X1, IZ*ONE you must've had a hard time...let's fly high now! [+1,610, -909] Does it make sense that a member that rigged is still staying in the group? Are we supposed to just accept this? Take that member out! They need to suffer the consequences of their crime and not reward them with more fame and money. CJ is really taking us for fools...disband the group! [+785, -371] Only Mnet is going to give up their profits? What about the profits of the other affiliates that rigged? [+1,271, -867] Is CJ really pushing ahead with this rigged group? They must see the public as dogs and pigs ㅋㅋㅋ ㅋㅋㅋ ㅋㅋㅋ Additional source: Dispatch

I saw Diva and for a second I thought they would be covering After School's Diva lol. -
Just to correct you a bit there 1. CJENM Mnet are forfeiting their share of the profits. (So CJENM still keep their parts of the profits that are outside of Mnet's profits.) 2. The articles from Soompi didn't mention that they will compensate the people who voted, if you get the info from other sources can you link me to the source?
