Hong Kyung Min’s daughter Rawon chose NU’EST’s Ren as the person she likes the most! During the episode of KBS 2TV’s “The Return of Superman” that aired on February 2, Rawon and Hong Kyung Min tried to color their nails with balsam. Hong Kyung Min explained to Rawon, “They say that if the color stays until the first snow of the year, that means you’ll find love.” Hong Kyung Min then asked Rawon to choose the person she likes the most, listing people Rawon has met like Ye Jun, William Hammington, and NU’EST’s Minhyun and Ren. The two idols had visited Rawon and Raim in a previous episode, with Minhyun taking Rawon to get her flu shots. Rawon chose Ren as her favorite person and her father said, “If the color stays on your fingernails till the first snow, that means Ren likes you too,” to which Rawon responded with a shy smile. Seeing this, Hong Kyung Min looked quite jealous as he said, “Do you think your dad is handsome or Ren?” He was surprised when Rawon immediately picked him and he couldn’t hide his smile. [kpkf] Netizens talk about Billie Eilish winning five Grammy awards
justtree replied to bye-bye's topic in Netizen Nation
I don't really know her music but I have heard her name a lot among US music fans last year and to be called Bruno v2 (which I assume is referring to Bruno Mars) seems to indicate that her music is good (because I think Bruno Mars has a lot of good enjoyable music). In my opinion, Grammy used to be more relevant globally because US popular musicians used to be more popular and more relevant globally but the awards itself have always been based on US markets (including the industry politics) so fair or not I'd leave it on US music fans especially those that have been following Grammy for a long time. I also can't help but be curious on whether K-netizens' assessment of Billie Ellish's wins on Grammy is affected with Billie's casual appearances in contrast to Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift. -
Danish PM: “I have nothing else to say about it other than that we have a very, very strong tradition in Denmark, not only for free speech, but also for satirical drawings, and that will continue in the future as well. It is a well-known Danish position, and we won’t change that,” she said The newspaper has been consistent in their satire drawings, including a controversial drawings of Muhammad in 2005, that had provoked angers as well from Muslim community.

Johnny's Island is targeting foreign fan Twitter accounts
justtree replied to Gene_e's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
There has been counter-arguments that this whole thing might be a scam, allegedly done by some malicious person pretending to be working for Johnny's Island, particularly Art Bank. Do take this news/info with caution as there are no official press release from Johnny's Island regarding the matters. If the info OP shared is true however, the only reason I can see why JE would be doing so is because they want to set up their own official twitter accounts for Japanese and international fans but they've gotten bad advise on how to proceed? -

[pann-choa] I FEEL THAT ZICO IS F*CKING MANIPULATIVE
justtree replied to bye-bye's topic in Netizen Nation
Just like with politicians, I don't think we should value entertainers by their words and media image (including their music and lyrics) but from their actual actions (especially when there are no cameras around). I like that more are aware to not put entertainers on a pedestal or to outsource their social awareness and education to entertainers (male and female) (Often time I found fans way smarter and way social-conscious than entertainers as the fans have spent more time and other resources to learn more and experience more - not necessarily all good experiences and not necessarily experiences that they looked for but that what happened to them - on social issues). We have seen many cases where entertainers trick the public with their image. Always remember that entertainers are still strangers, no matter how many contents of them consumed. -
Just when I have just posted my opinion in unpopular opinions that I think plenty of fans have become more mature lol. Anyway this group appear to be the portion that have not matured on idol-fans' relationships/boundaries. The girls appear young and most likely Korean, is it possible to talk to them and ask for their parents' contact numbers and contact their parents to let them know what their kids are doing with their time?
-
I think plenty of fans have become more mature and knowledgeable in recent years on what are within their rights as a consumers of K-Pop and what are beyond the lines between fans and idols. I can see the fans (and their parents if the fans is underage) becoming smarter and more conscious consumers of K-Pop idols and music in recent years. Sometimes I think some K-Pop idols and some K-Pop antis are the ones that are still living in the past or in a bubble thinking that the world of the fans still revolve only around the idols.

I still don't understand. Is Heechul afraid that even if he said that the album is specifically for his fans and not Momo and the fans know it too, but others non-fans would say to his fans that the album is not for the fans but for Momo? But will delaying the release of the album change anything as I see a lot of people have moved on from their relationship at this point?
-
I am sorry but I don't understand the connections. He said he want to release the album for his fans, his flower petals, the petals to his flower, but now he want to delay it because he is afraid that his flower petals would misunderstand? Does he mean he don't want them to misunderstand that the content of the album is for his fans and not for Momo? But if the content of the album is about love or anything around that area, then delaying the release of the album doesn't make sense unless he plans to change the theme to something that is less about romantic love and more specific to fandom love or if he is waiting until he broke up with Momo thus the fans know that the love is intended to them and not to Momo or his current partner.

Idols Voted to Best Visuals and Hottest Bodies Among Idols
justtree replied to zella's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
Baekho for hot body good choice -
It's within her right to ask that fans don't upload the old drama if she feels uncomfortable with the footage. But in my opinion, it also shows what kinda person she is. I think she probably has reached her peak in acting and don't want to be reminded that she was doing bad before. What a pity. Fortunately there are a lot of other brilliant actresses that would appreciate fans of acting, dramas, and movies, who make compilations of their acting experiences since debut. I hope that fan don't feel too discouraged because in the end she/he is doing it for him/herself anyway and if he/she is doing it earnestly, there is enough prize in the process and efforts anyway. I think it is better to know that she is not worth the efforts in the future and so you can spend your time on other people that are more worthy of your efforts and attention.

Higashide Masahiro and Watanabe Anne are separated
justtree replied to Gene_e's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
Once again reminded to never judge a person, especially entertainers, from the image they portrayed in front of the camera and medias. Amazingly enough, Karata even posted several solo photos of Higashide in her SNS but no one suspected them because of the images that both of them have in front of the media. Anne gave Higashide a chance in 2017 but Higashide and Karata continue their affair until 2020. They are not going to stop now and even if they did stop the affairs it means they only stop it when the medias and public get a hold of their affairs so it's possible that he will start an affair again as long as media and public don't get a hold of the new affairs. I know Anne has to think about her children but I hope she knows that cutting him out of her life as a husband is most likely the best decision for her as well as for her children as a parent and an individual. Life is short, she should spend it with a better person than Higashide. -
❤ Official NU'EST Baekho Kang Dongho Thread ❤
justtree replied to Vanilla Cupcake's topic in Individual Artists
Thank you Go ChuJang for all the new posts here! I have limited time so I haven't visited this thread after OH re-liven. Anyway, I am here to post a short short clip of 15 years old Baekho singing Na Yoon Kwon's If It was Me. (I don't even remember if anyone else or even me have posted this clip here before lol but the clip is still gold in my opinion). I would like to know how younger Baekho sang the full song because his voice then sounds quite deeper than his voice now, but I doubt there is a full recording of this stage. Hopefully someday (soon) we will get to listen to Baekho singing this song again in its entirety. It will be interesting to spot the differences on his vocals (at least the small part we have here lol) and how he take the later parts with higher pitch.- 3,885 replies

I don't think so because Stone is a distribution company and even before there were talks of CJ E&M wanting to buy Pledis, Pledis groups have already moved to Stone from 1toK (?). After there was news that CJ E&M wants to buy Pledis, Pledis said they were talking but Pledis has only agreed on working together with CJ E&M in a foreign investment (?) and then there was no other news on whether CJ E&M has bought Pledis or not, but Off The Records is formed and registered as one of the companies under CJ E&M but Pledis is not. If Pledis has already been bought by CJ E&M, as a public/stock-registered company CJ E&M has to report it to their stockholders and to the public as well as put them under the financial reports. So I don't think Pledis is bought by CJ E&M and that is why Big Hit can then venture in buying them. I can understand yours and other fans (Big Hit's groups or Pledis' groups) concerns about the possible acquisition. But in the end the balls is not in our hands and as fans and non-business owners of Big Hit and Pledis, the information and perspectives that we have is more limited than the actual owners and managers. We can share our perspectives so they can see potential blindspots or hurdles, but we have got to also understand that there might be a big picture that we are unable to see from our positions as fans. Personally, like when it was with the news of CJ E&M's plan, what I value most of NU'EST from Pledis is the creative freedom and direction, so as long as they let NU'EST keep their colors, the ownership matter less to me. The two companies also have their own goodness and badness, and this is still in discussion phase, so hopefully whatever the results of this discussion is going to be, it will be something that is as best as possible for all the parties.
-
I don't think that's true. CJ E&M did attempt to buy Pledis but I think Pledis ends up rejecting them and instead CJ E&M and Han Sung-Soo work together to set up a new agency Off The Records to manage girl groups from M-Net's reality/survival programmes. Edit: If Big Hit plans to go public within this or next year, they would need to add more groups with solid stable sales/records or with good projection of future growth under their label as soon as possible. It can be Pledis, it can be other companies. I think fans can read more on the positives and negatives of going public for the artists of the company. I think fans would understand better then why Big Hit acquiring other companies are something that can also be good for BTS, TXT, and other artists, staff, and management under Big Hit.

[update: still in discussion] Pledis merges with bighit
justtree replied to My Everything's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
Kinda a surprise to me. I was quite confident it will be MAMAMOO's company RBW because of the close ties of the two companies' CEOs (even if the rumour was the company Big Hit is going to acquire has top boy groups as sometimes diversion tactics is used to hide the real targets). Anyway, they are still in discussion for now, so there is not much need to comment further. Point of discussion I think might also be about Pledis's fixed assets and where their office will be located. If I am not mistaken, Pledis is surprisingly richer than you thought because they are thrifty/very-careful with their investments (which can also be a point of conflict with fans of their groups and casual observers).
