The thing is,how can a certain hashtag trends for so long? Hasn't it been more than 24 hours already? I thought hashtags can be trend no more than 24 hours then it'll dissappear by itself?
Unless this conspiracy theory below is right of course. Did they use the same hashtag from yesterday too?
https://twitter.com/BTS_ARMY_INT/status/952548772323713024
They made another hashtag, I think the first one was asking to apologise, the second one was to ask the media for more articles written about it (that one was the one that accumulated 1M tweets), and now the third one is to raise awareness about not using fandom names as a insult that has around 450k tweets as I'm writing this. Those are the main ones. I think there were others but I haven't been keeping up with it.
Edit: Then again, the third hashtag has tweets that don't match with what it was intended to be used for.

i don't actually have a godd rep but e*o-L's are pissing me off , how about using their hashtags for bts gifs and memes on twitter, i think that will be fun
lmao no, the worst thing you can do is this. Whatever hashtag latches onto the fandom, can get to trending worldwide really easily and get tons of attention, that's why you got the #BTSMUSTER_DAY2 trending worldwide right now. With how BTS often goes onto twitter after events, they're gonna see it. Everyone's gonna see it. It's pretty childish to want to take revenge like you said; two wrongs don't make a right.

Tbh, it's really hard to completely catalogue everything that proves they've changed because a lot of it isn't in shows or interviews. They're in bits and pieces here and there in their daily life that kinda shows they've been affected by their mistake and are taking steps not to repeat them.
1. Like this:
For the lyrics that they were called out for for being misogynistic, they changed the lyrics for the final wings tour stop
2. Another one:
http://news.chosun.com/site/data/html_dir/2017/11/22/2017112202149.html?rsMobile=false
Q: It would be uncomfortable question. It was pointed out that the lyrics contained female abhorrence. What did you think about that?Sugar: I studied a lot. I think that there is a part that we have to think about and to be surely changed about the prejudice and the problem which is surely in society. I think I can judge what is right or wrong by studying too much. Whatever it is, if there is discrimination and prejudice in our songs, it is wrong. I agree to fix it and change it. We also study a lot, talk a lot and talk a lot. I think we can fix that point and change it.RM: The most controversial things came from what I wrote. I thought 'I was so ignorant'. I wanted to study a lot. Since then, I have been taking examinations for professors and students at universities and colleges after I wrote lyrics. After that, I've learned that when you are talking about a specific sexuality, you should not put it all together and tell it to be like this.3. For Not Today
at 2:55, the reporter talks about how when there was a controversy with Not Today's lyrics (please turn on CC for subs)
To take an excerpt from the first comment of the reddit thread about this video: "Rapmonster bringing an entire stack of info to the press conference to address that **Not Today "controversy" not only shows that they are reading everything people say about them but also did not brush off the criticism but rather confronted it."
Especially since the journalist after her then talks about how people (prob other companies) often tell them that they're often not allowed to ask this or ask that.
It's just small things like this that kinda builds up the idea that yes, they're doing their best to stay aware. Anyway, that's all I can remember, there's probably more.
Finally, thanks so much for compiling this, OP!

dunno if its a messy statement but i hope dna's achievements/longevity/charting on the charts dont sway bts into doing another song similar to dna
ye ik they like to experiment blah blah but i dont want dna/not today/fire 2.0
I don't think it would, it never did before. DNA's not the only song of theirs with achievements/longevity/charting.

)Try to love OT7 please and let's stay together. Even without dreams, we can try to be happy! (paraphrase from the NY bomb!)
My best wishes for all of you ARMYs!

I think that's wrongly translated.
... But yeah, we should wait for better translations of it to come out

Maybe a bit OT
Sorry, I’m tired and am not making sense. Basically, my comment applied to r/Bangtan specifically.
I didn’t know about that r/kpop jump; very interesting. All I know is that at one point, a lot more subscribers were added to r/kpop automatically bc Reddit included them in a list of subs added when you indicate you’re interested in music in general. The demos have also shifted some; used to be more male users like Reddit in general and now it’s more even. BTS is the most popular BG on there based on their last two annual censuses. I have not kept track of how many posts have been hitting the main page over time, just saw upvote counts increasing. It’s good exposure.
(Picturing advocating to the fandom to mass-upvote BTS content even more, then the backlash; I’m laughing)
If Reddit is growing, that could be a factor. I also think kpop is growing in general, partly thanks to BTS in addition to other groups whose success can benefit them. Twice and RV are very popular on there, and sometimes gg fans become BTS fans.
I see. xD And oh, that adds another reason why the jump happened. I think I heard something like that before but I didn't think of it until you mentioned it. Maybe this is a bit OT, yeah... but thank you for the discussion about it, it just really gave me a bit of huge shock to see the huge jump.
-
I’m happy for them. I think a lot of it is also that it’s simply a well-managed forum and word has spread. Reddit isn’t necessarily going to be already popular amongst/familiar to ARMYs, so I think it’s taken some time, in combo with BTS’ rising popularity.
True, it takes time from when you first learn about kpop to get involved in it and then trickle down into the multiple platforms you can use to talk about it, but the redditors that learn about kpop, they were probably the first ones to subscribe since they already use reddit a lot.
A lot of things have hit the main page since May as well like BTS's DNA, Twice's Likey and especially Jonghyun's passing away which got extensive coverage. I'm not sure whether that's something important to point out though since I haven't been here long, like is this normal or has things on r/kpop gotten on the main page pretty frequently before this huge jump.

ohh my god, I saw this on r/kpop reddit mentioned by someone:

http://redditmetrics.com/r/kpop
Around the time the voting month for #BTSBBMAs was starting until now, the amount of people has TRIPLED from 75,273 to 264,294. The biggest jump in growth was around 17th May to 26th May around the end of the voting month. Fricken blows my mind, the impact is staggering.

This is the original comment: https://www.reddit.com/r/kpop/comments/7mxcmz/how_did_you_first_get_into_kpop/drxiwfq/
"Not sure, but if you look at reddit metrics, the number of subs really starts taking off in May--which is when BTS won their social artist award. So that might've contributed. Also I feel like reddit is just getting more popular in general."
Decided to check out r/bangtan's stats:
http://redditmetrics.com/r/bangtan
Pretty good with several high peaks and the growth of it steadily increasing after time with no serious letups like r/kpop, where it seems like growth is halved each time instead. Like r/kpop shot up during May but then looks like a staircase going down from there, while r/bangtan is a hill going up.

â„♡ Merry Christmas! ♡â„

I missed the Gayo today, although I watched Bangtans performance afterwards.
However, does anyone have a link for the full show perhaps?
I hate to watch shows in little clips Here's the full video of all the performances for BTS; the video was on Youtube before it got taken down. Someone on reddit managed to download it in time. Leaving it here in case anyone else is interested too.

Don't really know tbh. I was actually waiting for someone to post it since I mostly lurk in here instead of posting, however I couldn't wait anymore lol.
Nah, you're good; post more, especially for updates and stuff like this

I guess I forgot it's 6th Dec now in Japan, but I thought BH or their JP label would tweet the MV out from one of their accounts or something. Guess I shouldn't have assumed

-
Why was there no notif about this??
Or was there but I didn't notice?? -
RUN ep 30
Forget the naive youngest member!
This is whole new Jungkook!
Who thinks this guy is the youngest one?
No one can stop him...
Endless passion for dance
- BTS staff, on Jungkook's twerk
I can't with J-hope mimicking bouncing Jungkook's twerk
Edit: How the heck Jungkook strong enough to lift Jin clear off the floor like that

Sorry sorry sorry I'm scared of main thread my anxiety is bad enough with how fast we move here these days I'll just stay quiet sorry.
Nah, it's fine. It wasn't any different from topics like "Who is going to be the next kpop group that blows up after BTS?" that I've seen several times on OH, just that now there's some small evidence that people are interested in blowing up a group. The answers on that thread were, as far as I can tell, that no one will blow up, at least not yet. People were saying the closest one to having a chance was BPink if it wasn't for their company.

To think Yoongi's wish for Top 50 would be granted so soon.
Even after when everyone was bashing them for having such high expectations; I guess not high enough if they did it within 3 months after charting for the first time.
GOGO BTS!!
Send her some love for getting BTS on vogue <3
