The problem with this program is what each party wants from it mnet wants a group that will do well in Japan witch is something that they can only achieve if popular akb members join ( witch they are very unlikely to do as they are busy branching out and doing solo stuff not joining another 48 sister group with 5 year contract) and ak-p and aks want to use produce101 brand to intruduce the 48 franchise internationally so when they debut their groups in Manila and Taiwan there is extra hype its not coincidence that these two groups debut has been dragged this much plus announcing Mumbai 48 and meeting with a Mexican producer for the long rumored Mexican group being around the time pd48 is somewhat talked about is also definetly not a coincidence. at the end both parties want different things and it’s hard to see what’s going to happen with the final product as Korean market has never really interested ak-p if it had a Korean sister group would have been created in 2012 when there were lot of interest from Korean companies after AKB48 mama performance and the Japanese public couldn’t care less for another 48 group with unknown Japan 48 and Korean members in it. One of the biggest reason new groups 48 sell well is that they attach local pride to it like ngt48 (Niigata) , hkt47 (hakata) ect.
