  1. It was a different mod from last time but they're saying similar things.
  2. avex posted another video from the tour and I didn't even know lol. I wish I was there.
  3. She dyed her hair again. Click here to view the Tweet "Mito-san dyed my hair. At SORA! It seems like there is three colors in here. I can't decide whether I want to cut my bangs or not" Edit... OMG their documentary is coming out in December!
  4. Translation of her comment for the video Sasori posted: "For a long time, I've been saying that Ariel is my favorite character from Disney. I especially liked 'Part of Your World'. I liked it so much that when I watched the movie in Japanese, I wrote down the lyrics, memorized it, and sang it. I also liked 'Under the Sea'. For 'Under the Sea' I made up a choreography and performed it in front of my mom. So I'm so happy because I like it. For the people who only listen to BiSH's songs, these songs will be refreshing, but I hope to show a new me" With this in mind I also wish she sang in Japanese. But I'm not complaining because she sounds good in the preview lol. Also BiSH will be having another tour in 2018. Sadly I won't be able to go to Japan on any of those dates... 5. I was so frustrated by this drama (mostly the mom) most of the time but I loved Kahoko and Hajime.
  6. I wasn't sure which one you were talking about so I'll put both. Twitter thing that I posted with my translation. This person answered that his favorite artist was Nakagawa Shoko but they made told him to say Kyary Pamyu Pamyu: Twitter Link to the gc article: It's in Japanese though. I'll translate some of the most upvoted or interesting comments from gc. I didn't proof-read: (OP:) When I was in elementary school, I lived in a dorm and that elementary school was interviewed a few times. In reality we had problems with bullying and stealing, but when I watched what was aired, they made it seem great. Even though I was a kid at the time, I still thought "It's a completely different world" and was surprised. Is there anyone who experienced the fakeness of TV or noticed how it was staged?? +945 -14 Long time ago I worked part-time at a bar and usually we don't have a lot of customers, but on the day it was going to be introduced on TV, the TV staff brought in a lot of fake customers and made it seem like the bar is (usually) busy. +1044 -10 I was interviewed at Shibuya, my answers didn't match what they wanted, so I had to say what they told me to say. +849 -10 I was chosen as the representative of normal people (non-celebrity). In reality, all I did was talk about a story the staff fabricated. +507 -17 Terrace House. It's obvious that it's talents/celebrities that they're trying to sell. +889 -6 If you go watch programs from the visitor seat you will know (Like watch what is being filmed in person and not through TV). It's full of things that are staged. None of the performers even smile once the camera stops. +747 -9 I was interviewed by Uta-ban and was asked "Out of all the songs that were released this year, what is your favorite?" and when I answered honestly, it seems like it wasn't the answer they were expecting so I had to redo it and they asked "Choose from here" lol. In my mind I thought "I don't like any of the songs from that list". +687 -12 It wasn't a TV program but for a commercial for a weight loss product. I was told that they will give me money if I get fat. They're gonna use the fat picture for the "before" and my current body as "after". Of course I declined. +809 -5 I went to Enoshima beach. A lot of reporters and staffs came. They started to scatter empty cans and trash so I thought "???" and then the reporter who had a basket on his/her back started picking up the trash the staff scattered and said, "So much trash! Even here! Such terrible manners!" and they staged everything. Since it was clean and didn't have trash before they came, I'm sure they fabricated it, but I was speechless. +738 -7
  7. Are people making a big deal about someone making the ranking again? I don't trust music station's personal rankings anymore. I posted the twitter post about someone who admitted they lied b/c they were told to by the staff before and recently on gc there was a topic about "when you experienced the fakeness of tv first hand" or something like that and many people were talking about being asked to choose their favorite song/artist and if they didn't choose the song/artist they were hoping for, the staff gave them a list and told them to pick from there lol.
  8. Shinkai Makoto (the person who made 'Kimi no Na Wa' aka Your Name) tweeted about BiSH's 'Promise the Star' Click here to view the Tweet "For BiSH's 'Promise the Star', whenever I think 'I want them to edit the cut here' they do it 100% of the time. The editing fits my taste perfectly so I love this MV" Hashiyasume replied saying "Nice to meet you! I'm so happy that you like it.... Thank you so much!" to which he replied "Thank you as well! I will be looking forward to your activities!"
  9. It was overall good but also very frustrating a lot of the times. I already knew Sawajiri Erika was a great actress but seeing this still amazed me.
  10. The second person is Ohmori Hiroto (大森寛人)
  11. I just discovered them this year lol. I just listened to the previews on ototoy and was planning on buying the ones I liked but I will probably end up buying the whole thing lol. I love her voice so much.
  12. Yeah I guess she has a distinctive voice but she does kind of stand out on this list. I'm not saying she's a bad singer or anything but she definitely isn't one of the first people I would think of if I was asked "Who is good at singing in Japan?". And about the comment about her bringing "American voice" to Japanese music, were they literally talking about her voice or "voice" as in expressions/personality? Either way it sounds weird to me lol.
  13. Yeah I agree that Ishikawa Sayuri and MISIA should be on here. Fuse Akira (#10) used to appear on Kohaku and he was really good. Yeah I was surprised about Utada. She has great songs but I didn't think she was famous for being a good singer. It was uploaded to youtube recently but it seems like this is from a few years ago (2014) lol. But it probably wouldn't be too different now. (Very) rough translations of some of the reasons listed. I wasn't sure about some of the technical words so sorry if it sounds kind of strange: 1. Tamaki Koji: "His skills are above average and very touching", "His rhythm is precise and his songs have blank space so it is playful", "The outlook of the world expressed in his songs are fantastic", "His live performance and the CD is the same so there is no need for edits". 2. Kubota Toshinobu: "His groove is like authentic R&B", "His sense of rhythm is not common in Japan", "The way he catches each sound is amazing", "There is a deepness to his voice and it is glossy. His fake* is very sensitive and amazing" (* I don't know if it's the same in English but apparently it means like arranging? Like how a singer purposely changes the way he sings during lives). 3. Superfly: "Her powerfulness and stability doesn't lose to the (back-up) bands", "Her voice is carefree and goes forward, it's thick and has depth", "Overwhelming skills and her voice has power and core. Her high-tone voice really stands out from the crowd", "Her range is very wide and her volume is well balanced". 4. Natsukawa Rimi: "Her voice is clear. I couldn't help but be lost in her transparent voice", "Transparent, beautiful voice", "With her voice quality and her skills, it doesn't matter which microphone she uses", "No matter when you hear her, she is always good". 5. Yoshida Miwa: "She is just good", "She lets you hear various techniques in one song" "Her volume and pitch is stable and her performance is full of energy", "Her powerful voice during performances are no different from CDs. Whether it's a ballad or easygoing song, she sings without struggling". 6. Utada Hikaru: "She was born with a radiant voice and her voice has the heartrending sound that Japanese people love", "Her sense of rhythm is extraordinary", "Even without a microphone, her voice still goes through", "Her emotions go along with the melody". 7. Fukuhara Miho: "Her pitches are precise and her her beats are uncommon in Japan", "She has volume. With her skills, she can go overseas", "I heard her performance through PA (Public address system) even before her debut, but her skills are fantastic" 8. Inoue Yosui: "His voice lingers and soaks into your body", "(His singing) is powerful and erotic, and he really transcends the expression/description of 'good and bad'. Number one singer in Japan", "His acapellas are a masterpiece" 8. Exile Atsushi: "I've seen a lot of performances but the only person I was amazed by was him", "His vocal power and overwhelming stability is amazing as a pro", "No matter how many times he rehearses or moves around stage, his skills do not waver". 10. Fuse Akira: "He has a wide vocal range and the vibrato during his high notes really shakes me", "The way his voice spreads out amazing", "No need to explain how great he is"
  14. Do you guys agree with the ranking of "singers who are really good at singing" chosen by 200 professionals (like vocal trainers, music engineers, etc.) 1. Tamaki Koji 2. Kubota Toshinobu 3. Superfly 4. Natsukawa Rimi 5. Yoshida Miwa (DREAMS COME TRUE) 6. Utada Hikaru 7. Fukuhara Miho 8. Inoue Yosui 8. ATSUSHI (EXILE) 10. Fuse Akira I remember being really amazed by Kubota and Superfly the first time I heard them.
