Yeah that makes sense. Especially considering how the NGG will have to compete against this generations biggest groups (Like Twice, Blackpink, Red Velvet, Gfriend, etc.) AND be able to stand out from all the rookies that debut literally every day. SM is already lowkey pushing them as the "group to replace SNSD", so i can see why they are being picky asf. Plus Red Velvet, their last girl group, has so far been pretty successful and they've been gaining traction lately so SM is probably expecting the NGG to get at their level or maybe even exceed them.

Aw when you put it that way, i feel really bad for the trainees. i wonder what kind of ridiculous standards SM is holding them to, they must be so freaking high that even talented gems like Herin were let go/left. The pressure is unreal for this next group.

I've heard about those rumors too, apparently Red Velvet were the best female trainees they had at the time and the female talent was pretty sparse. And I'm starting to think its probably somewhat true considering that SM have no problem pumping out 37288465 talented boys for NCT yet they're still struggling to form a NGG. So its either the standards for making it into the NGG are EXTREMELY high or SM simply don't have enough trainees to make another successful SNSD.

I actually really liked NCT's Firetruck and Cherry Bomb, i liked both songs first listen. I don't get why people hate those songs, but then again I love loud, bass heavy music so I don't mind the obnoxious and messy nature of those songs.

After all the fuss around Herin and (possibly) Hansol's departure, I doubt SM is gonna release anything until the final lineup is set in stone. I think its better that way, that way fans don't attack SM when their faves don't make it and say things lik "X should've made it instead of Y" or "Y would've been a better main vocalist instead of X". Also I don't understand why people say the girls aren't getting any hype when so far they've been given the same amount of exposure that Red Velvet did predebut(maybe even a little more). I guess it's because nowadays we're so used to seeing trainees on reality shows and getting fame predebut lol

I don't want to believe the Lami rumors but on the other hand, it's a little sketchy to me that she hasn't really been "promoted" since the MMC days, considering she's pegged as the second YoonA. You'd think SM would at least be putting her in music videos or a few CFs to put her face out there but she's been MIA for more than a year. My guess is that she's gonna go into acting or modeling instead of debuting as an idol, like Lee Yeon Hee did. I have no idea what to expect with this lineup anymore tbh. Lineups are super unpredictable, especially SMs lineups. They have alot of hidden gems (Chenle and Renjun seemed to appear out of thin air when NCT Dream came out) and there have been cases where members get dropped/added a few months before debut (I heard Ryeowook and Kyuhyun trained for like 2 months then got added into SuJu) . At this point I'm just gonna wait until SM starts dropping teasers lol
