I think KBS kind of wrapped up the drama between Seyong and Euijin in a good way. There didn't seem to be any real animosity; they just had differences. Plus, Seyong pulling off an amazing performance with such a bad injury should pull-on people's heartstrings. Euijin killed the dance part of Heartbeat. I think you're better at analyzing the situation than I am. But I honestly think they have a good chance of rising. In the Her youtube comments, besides Kanto, Sejun received a lot of love and many compliments on how well he did PO's part. The other person they asked after was Taro because they thought he looked like U-kwon and loved his voice. I really expect Sejun to rise. He had such a commanding presence that forced you to pay attention to him. I think Bigflo's Euijin is a dark horse in the same vein as Yoon Jisung of Wanna One. He gives great reactions and always has something to say. Editors love that. Plus, he's really talented. Madtown used to have a lot of fans that were older women, I'd say 30s-50s, who saw Jota on Cool Kidz but then ended up getting into the group. Either Daewon or Lee Geon are pulling in votes from women in their 30s. The other is popular with male voters. Happy Birthday to HCY. So far KBS has been terrible at keeping secrets. Last week, people were able to figure out that the boy's Monster team won by the Rain's preview.

Kanto is getting a lot of positive feedback on youtube. I think he might end up back in the top 9. There's also a lot of positive comments about Perfect Man and Heartbeat performances. I think Daewon will fall but Lee Geon will hopefully rise out the 20s to the 10s. I really want Taro and Z-Uk to be saved but I think it's a very slim chance.

Maybe because English isn't your first language you don't understand the difference between having a constructive opinion and saying something in a very negative way that is hurtful. There were many posts during the girl's episode that went through and analyzed in depth how the performances could've been better. I honestly learned a lot from reading them. Yes, an opinion is an opinion but not all opinions need to be said/written aloud. Also, having strong feelings about something doesn't mean that it's okay to say something in a hurtful or rude way. The way you say something is as important as what you have to say. I'm writing this because I see a lot of people talking about "hard truths" due to Mix9. Your opinion is not a truth unless its based on an indisputable fact. Tearing people down doesn't make people grow. Offering constructive advice based on facts does help people to grown. I know this is off topic so please feel free to neg me or whatever.

I need to focus on something positive and distracting right now like Giriboy coming out with a new album.

Thank you for responding. This show sounds like a very very bad idea in every way possible. I am so worried about Winner now. I'm so upset I don't know what else to say. Thanks again. Edited due to double posting.

What makes you all think it's a recreation of the Stratford Prison Experiment? Was their mention of some playing prisoners and some playing guards? I'm sorry this has me too stressed to go back and read through ten pages of posts. That's not an experiment that ever needs to be repeated. Ever.

I don't want long drawn out eliminations like PD101. I despise elimination day and it's post-episode depression. If PD101 didn't have all "the fun" footage, I would've skipped every one and just waited for the updates. I feel like it will be worse for The Unit. I appreciate that the KBS doesn't fill the screentime with useless footage of people swallowing or contrived drama. Emotionally, I'm not ready to lose people.

I'm not sure I get what you're trying to say 100%. I realize you didn't specifically mention rap but, because of Zico, people that know of the group but don't know Her that well are going to think about rap line's parts in the song. Yes, having someone who is in the top 9 can overshadow other people. But, like you pointed out, Her isn't a hip-hop track with a featured vocalist. It is a pop track where the vocals are over half the song. While BTS is known for its strong rap and an intense performance, Block B's choreography is not the easiest and has the quirky personality of the group. I don't believe Kanto could master it on his own. So, PO doesn't have that many lines but the few he does have stand out. So, if Cya is able to carry out those few lines with the expected swagger and personality, then he could stand out. If Z-uk who has a pretty good singing voice IMO ends up being a supporting vocalist but get the "helping struggling Kanto" edit, then he can stand out. The fact that he's a rapper and singing, could be a storyline. The third rapper comes in right after Zico's part. If Kanto does Zico's part, then whoever does the next part right after can be on his level, everyone will say look at how good he is. Because of how the rap line is distributed and the fact that Block B has two strong vocalists, then at least five or more team members will have a chance to shine if they can pull the song off. I would really like to see Z-uk go up the rankings as well as Taro. So much is going to depend on what storyline the editiors go with. I just believe in this team. Sometimes, what we believe in doesn't work out. How do you think Marco is going to do on the Shinhwa team? At this point, I'm so invested in all the contestants, I might be willing to sacrifice a toe if the voting never ended.
-
But Kanto is good at rapping. Z-uk, who is the lowest ranked male contestant, did Bigflo's choreography when he was in the group. I like Taro's singing voice and think it fits the song. If people have low expectations, then it's better for them as a group because they just have to surpass the expectations where supergroups like EXO's Monster are going to have very high expectations to beat.

I want to say yes to this but I think Red Team and all of the top 15 are very talented. Daewon has a quieter personality and he might fade into the background in the new Black team. I think KBS's evil plan is to flood Unit fans with so much content that we're too busy trying to keep up to watch other shows. edited because I forget what I was going to say the first time.

I have a tendency to make overley long posts, so no offense taken.

I agree wholeheartedly. I think the Unit is up to at least 3 angel edits on the Boy's side: Daewon, Jun, and Ungjae. I think KBS is using Vlive videos to show other charms and variety skills. The contestants get to decide how to approach those missions on their own. Look at Timoteo's Morning Call, that showed a whole different side to him. New Black has me so excited. It seems like such a strong team for performance wise. I hope the teams are chosen by or the contestants get to choose what part of what song they want (like say Kanto getting Zico's part in Her as an example). 2 things. If you all feel a little down and need some soft fluffiness to cheer you up, on the Madtown channel on Vlive, Daewon did and an episode with his childhood friend and his dogs. (Daewon is to dogs as Yongguk is to cats.) It runs long but watching a few minutes sometimes makes me feel better. Z-Uk, ex-member of Bigflow, is ranked last among the boys. KBS didn't show his audition and the 1 minute they posted on Vlive centered around a mistake. I guess he's been depressed about it and trying hard in all his other vlives to show his talent. Fans on twitter are asking people to leave encouraging tweets for him. Has anyone made it through all the call videos yet? I'm not even close.

It seemed like both the boys and girls ate in the same cafeteria but at different times. The layout was the same. Remember when PD 101 had the food controversy? KBS has this big scene where you can see the lunch ladies piling the food on the trays and all the teams eating together. Then they all received warm coats. I felt like they were making a statement about how good they're treating the contestants. The boys red team had the "boys just having fun" edit till they messed up in the first evaluation. I loved Lee Geon and Feeldog dancing in the hall; the jokes about the boy/girls meeting; and KiJoong and Kanto playing with the camera brightened the atmosphere. I hope K fans remember that Daewon received one vote for bowing and was told that he wasn't that good of a singer or dancer. I think because they were focused on the group, most of the team members who took over teaching choreo ended up being one of the worst in their groups. I felt really bad for Hyosun. She worked so hard only to fall down. I'm glad that KBS allows contestants to post pics so viewers know the orange girls team seem close. If there's spillover from PD 101, maybe Hotshot and Kanto are benefitting from it. Fans of Wanna One & JBJ maybe voting for Timoteo and Daehwi/Woojin/MXM fans maybe voting for Kanto. Edited due to fing up.

Thank you.

Thanks for updating. I'm glad he's okay and hope that the camera person will be more careful in the future.

Mnet was criticized by fans for not focusing on interactions between the contestants and within the groups. Hopefully, depending on how KBS decides to edit things, we will get more screentime for more contestants and interactions with the winners out of the way. I don't know about the whole ratings vs popularity thing. Your theory is interesting. I don't know if voting blocks are actually called voting blocks but it's how I think of them in my head. It's when fans make alliances and agree to vote for each other's favs. People are jocking on twitter about Hotdogg, so if Hotshot fans and Toppclass agreed to vote for both teams, then it's more like a block. Supposedly, voting alliances were instrumental in constructing JBJ, but they started too late to get the guys in Wanna One. KBS is uploading so much content on the vapp. I loved how each of the groups had their personalities in a way. The dance practices are intense as well. I felt very proud of team White. As a Daewon fan, he kind of stole the show when he volunteered to teach Mas but the other three people who joined the group kind of made the same decision,
-
I agree with you 100%. Mnet in Broduce had all these preexisting conditions to cause drama for a storyline like how there weren't enough rap or singing parts so some trainees were forced into dance, but they edited episodes around main characters. Each team seemed to always have one main character. The Unit has focused on human interest based drama, IMO. Taemin's watching his friend's suffering. Hyuna and Joo. The fact that San E usually is off having a party by himself but actually was real and authentic with Joo when he talked about how he felt was a coward. The whole Madtown poverty storyline. I think with that type of editing you have to have something the general public can relate too. There's always going to be fans, but the public loves a good story. That's why I think relatability is import and I don't know if Timoteo has it due to facial expressions, etc. Sorry, this is a book. I could be completely wrong with the direction KBS is going to take.
-
I wonder how KBS's storyline will influence the votes. So far, they've chosen to play team red as strategists rather than arrogant. Taehyun didn't make it into Wanna One but he did make it into JBJ by being talented yet relatable. Timoteo might either slide into the last spot or end up in the next "JBJ" with the right skills/editing. A lot of people didn't know who Bigflo was but Eui Jin is getting hearts on Vapp. Are fans of groups forming voting blocks yet? Edited because somehow I fed up. I think it's Grammerly.

Which male idols do you think are gay?
Rags2Weeds replied to cold soba's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
San E was wearing a safety pin earring the first day of auditions. I feel like he's American enough to know what it means and that, if he's not bi, then he's at least an ally. He pings for me but he has some really deep internalized issues so...like I don't know if it would be healthy to be in a relationship with him. His songs 120 Days of Sodom and Counseling, plus the last few lines of Black Suit, seem really real. -
I wish KBS would upload videos onto vlive in a way that made sense. It's like I've come to terms that the show ended up being bigger or something than they anticipated so it's not going to run 100% smoothly but still. All the superboot videos should be up. I remember watching Madtown vlives and how happy everyone looked. Daewon looks older and there's sadness too his eyes now. It hurts. Daewon & Lee Geon are living in an office without electricity. I never thought I would count on a reality show to house and feed my bias so he'd didn't go back to basically being homeless. I'm really hoping that team white defies expectations and gets the rising underdog edit next week.

I really enjoyed the episode. I know some people found it slow but I felt like they were trying to be more like the Voice, K Pop Star, etc. than PD 101. I have similar thoughts but don't know if I could've worded it as well. It's obvious from the disappearing/reappearing San E and Rain's clothes that this isn't being shown in chronological order. Day 2 of the shooting was so long that someone who lightened things up would be such a nice break from the serious auditions. It was obvious the judges were basing it on audience approval. The actor is an easy victim right now for those whose favs didn't make it and that's where the hate comes into play. Ondemandkorea reuploades most shows like this (SMTM, PD 101, etc.) about an hour after they've aired without subs. I don't want them getting taken down so I probably won't mention this again. It's an unfortunate part of audition shows that they don't show everyone. I wish they would upload passing contestant's full performances on a platform like vapp or youtube. I don't have the patience for people that are upset about not getting to see your favs even when you know that they passed. Wait and watch a group-specific cut then. You don't have to watch everything and come here to complain. I knew I had to watch this show to support Bigstar, Hotshot, and Madtown but realistically all of my favs won't make it and I'm getting to know new groups which are nice. By the way, why does everyone always forget about Rainz who emerged from Broduce? I really enjoyed the episode. The Oui Boys/Kidz released one song digitally with a video of them singing in their practice room in order to qualify. Maybe he did something similar with new agency. But he already has so many fans that you'd think such a track would be known.

I'm here for BigStar, Hotshot, the Ark, Kanto, and probably more that I can't remember because it's 2 am in the morning here. I'm worried about Kanto because of dancing but it seems like we're not going to know anything due to restrictions until the show airs.

Ugh. I accidentally negged you and can't figure out how to fix it. I am so sorry. I was trying to hit plus. I feel so bad.
