  1. I'm anxious about Bermuda. I don't get the one person's comment that viewed it live that said Kanto rapped Zico's part. Bermuda is like 65 to 70% Zico rapping and the rest is Crush & Dean singing. The song also caused controversy among international fans because of Zico's "I'm from a yellow race but I have black soul." I think the rappers wrote all their own raps. Also, since this is Fanxxy song I can see how it would be easy to combine it with Red Sun. Chan & Donghyun are probably going to be the vocals for the song. With everyone talking about Donghyun rapping, he might've covered Crush's part. Lyric videos for both are in the spoiler. Who's Your Momma is dominating with 385 votes. U R is the next highest with 321. I wonder if there will be a change with the next performances.
  2. Sometimes I have a tendency to forget that we as viewers have previews and teasers to show us bits and pieces of the dance stages before they're broadcasted. Live audiences get to see them with little expectations. I could see how the stage would be shocking and cool without all the problems with the conflicting styles of dance. I honestly don't know how easy it would be to throw away something you've worked so hard on in order to come up with a better, more cohesive stage. I've fallen too. Now, I desperately want Seyong & Euijin in the Top 9. Thanks. I 100% agree that this is how dance stages should be viewed. Right now Seyong is only one or two places away from the Top 9. I think everyone is slowly getting to know his character. The love triangle is now a real possibility. At #20 that would put Lee Geon on the cut off spot. Why won't Korea vote for him? Thank you for posting this. I like how he gave credit to everyone who helped choreograph Stay and explained what was going on. Emotionaly the eliminations were really hard on teams. Miracles In December seemed so depressed afterward.
  3. I think that the problem with Stay is that there was a split between contemporary dancers and street dancers. Songs like Stay do really well for contemporary but street dance has a tendency to get the audience more excited. I'm really tired. I don't know how to express when I'm thinking in a way that makes sense.
  4. The boy's team and the girl's team with the highest votes can't be eliminated in the next cut. Also, the boy & girl with the most live votes get to be models for a pc game. The Unit gives out lots of small rewards with the big rewards.
  5. I feel like I can't judge the red's & black's dance without watching it without the cutaways. I feel like someone else is always the leader but Rain always puts Euijin on the spot. Maybe my change with subs. Miracles in December sounded better as a whole team before eliminations. I like how it reminded me of Christmas carols with more of choir feel. But still the performance was very good. Yellow team was amazing. Why was there a toaster oven produce placement in the middle of the Whose Your Momma's teams time? KBS gets a little better every episode but then there's always something odd. And we ended up with a new angle on the boy's side.
  6. Sorry to say this, when I heard he was going to be on the show, I was excited because I'd heard he was an amazing vocalist. But then Mas, IM, and HBY were there. They were all new to me so I checked them out forgetting about him. Maybe something will happen where he'll have a chance to stand out. The Perfect Man performance was really good and he held his own among the other contestants.
  7. Jota also wasn't a member of Pro-C but I first heard about the controversy because it was mentioned in the comment section of Cool Kidz on the Block but the person using it to attack Jota only brought it up a couple of times before disappearing when their comments were ignored. I honestly don't think that's what's going on with Lee Geon's ranking though. I think he has amazing vocals but is stiff sometimes in front of the camera. I really want Daewon & Lee Geon to end up in a decent company. The whole thing has me rather anxious. Maybe that means HCY will bring good luck to the Unit groups when they debut!
  8. Ah that's going to stick in my mind too. LOL. I was afraid when I started watching The Unit that it was going to be PG all the way because of how KBS likes to censor things. But that doesn't seem to be the case between Crying Fist and the fact that Stay/Chained up are all on leashes. If I remember correctly, Starlights were upset when Chained Up was first released because Vixx just wore collars. Now, it seems that there's collars, leashes, and blindfolds.
  9. Nicely put. I think looking at it as a hybrid makes more sense than a documentary. I think and worry about this a lot. Madtown had a controversy pre-debut but, I researched it as best I could without reading Korean, no one has brought it up in a long time. Geon is quirky. He loves older ballad singers and, if you pay attention to what he's up to in the background, he's almost always playing around. I don't know why people aren't voting for him. Maybe he doesn't have the reputation yet the 100% or some of the other groups have. Madtown was a fun hip hop/pop concept. They weren't vocal centered. Lee Geon was all over Jeup in that Vlive. Looks like Who's Your Mama is going for a burlesque theme. I bet those costumes look beautiful from a distance. The chorus sounded good. Saturday seems like days away now. I think of Casper and Marco as fun mood makers. Maybe they're not as driven but they do liven things up. I can't imagine either making it into the top 9 but I think that they'll lighten the mood as long as they stay. I've watched more than one Vlive where members joked about someone specifically who liked to watch porn. It's like an on-going joke between many male groups.
  10. Does anyone know if we'll get a vlive this week? When does that news typically come out?
  11. I haven't been able to wrap my mind around a Kingsmen concept mixed with That's What I Like before watching the preview. I really am hoping that it's a mix of synchronized and everyone having a moment to shine. I think you summed things up nicely when it comes to hopes and worries about the performance. I ran out of upvotes so here's a verbal plus. Overall, I feel like KBS was more humane. Giving the vocalist in Miracles in December a chance to show what they've been practicing, illustrated that even though it was heartbreaking at the same time. Hi. This thread is pretty chill like The Unit itself. Sometimes drama pops up but it blows over quickly. Sometimes, I think that The Unit it shot more like a documentary and less like a reality competition which I actually really like that but I could see how. if you were used to Mnet and didn't watch a lot of documentaries, how the subtlety might see like less desperate competition.
  12. Backtracking 11 pages made my eyes tired. LOL. Page 447 will forever be a fav. I see a lot of people hyping the Chained Up performance on twitter. I hope that they know the song is a mashup with Alyssia Cara & Zedd's Stay. I checked out some Stay choreography vids and they seem to really suite Bigflo's Euijin. In the last performances, the rappers had to copy someone else's rap style and everything. I really hope that this time they write their own lyrics so that we can see their own unique flow. Beatwin's Jungha looked so classy in the red coat when he covered Swings. I want to see more of what he's like on his own terms. S.E.T. like to do unique covers. I can't believe they covered Run DMC:
  13. Every time they show the contestants in the cafeteria happily eating these nice meals, I wonder if KBS is shading mnet and how broduce was rumored to have fed the boys. I actually liked that Rain talked to the eliminated contestants and gave them an encouraging speech. Just like when he visited the rooms, the scene made the show more humane somehow. I worry that there's always too much emphasis on this being "the last chance" in these types of shows. Covering BTS seems to be a double-edged sword. On the one hand the cover gets criticized if it's not a faithful reproduction of the original. On the other hand, its impossible to create BTS"s sound and feeling exactly, so it makes more sense to take a chance making it more their own. It's better not to read the youtube comments. So, we're still waiting for subs. I guess it will be a nice surprise when they get posted.
  14. I don't know if I'll be able to listen to Miracles in December without crying next week. Thanks KBS. That and goodbye scenes just were heartwrenching. FYI, at the end of the Daewon roasting Geon he mentioned that Madtown was basically disbanded to that they needed to stick together. He posted a message on Instagram confirming that Madtown had indeed disbanded after the show aired. It really looks like the final Unit B group might be geared towards dancers. I wonder if, like pd 101 people panicked and voted in another vocalist at the end because of all the rappers, we'll see a couple strong vocalist enter the top 9 with the reset. I'll add a disclaimer that the last paragraph might be wrong and make no sense outside of my head. Eliminations and disbandment have made it a bit of a bad day for some of us.
  15. Euijin makes beautiful children. LOL. I don't know why I didn't see it till you all pointed it out. Euijin has a smile that makes you want to give him two scoops of ice cream when he only asked for one. There are people getting eliminated that I firmly believe it's a result of how KBS has been editing the show. I don't think anyone can argue about that. And, you might have sensed this as well, that there's a feeling the production company in charge of The Unit is learning as they go. We haven't had any more flying clocks which I am a little sad about. I'm just not sure if I buy into theories that KBS is favoring contestants they want in the final group. I think there are certain people whose names had more media attention and, in a bid to get ratings, they did center some obvious storylines around those people. It's no secret that I'm a Madtown fan. Because of everything going on with Madtown and their agency, Lee Geon & Daewon entered the show with a storyline that was easy to tap into. I saw on twitter a recent Daewon photo where he was holding up a new pair of shoes which, I believe, is a response to the poverty edit their received in audition episodes. After they appeared, I couldn't help but notice how everyone else had nice shoes. If this was a book, I would say that it's lazy writing. It's like they're taking the obvious storylines and empathize them. I honestly don't believe that the production company purposely conspired to not give screen time too or badly edit some contestants on purpose to get them eliminated. I do believe they limited the number of contestants from each group on purpose and that they passed some contestants like Mas Band and Lee Jungha the actor as easy fodder for early elimination with the thought that they would be compensated by exposure. If they exceeded expectations, then it's another easy storyline.
  16. On one hand, I feel like lack of screentime is hurting some contestants but I can't really think how you can shoot a show with this many people and have it be fair. I also feel like KBS is struggling because they have too much filmed, like the position battles, and can't use it all because of time constraints. Plus, I think they are trying to use social media to even out the playing field but there are still too many contestants for the audience to try to keep up with their individual videos. Was it someone on here or on twitter that said Bigflo's Euijin reminded them of BTS's Jimin when he's smiling? I didn't see it before but now I can't stop seeing the similarities. I am incredibly anxious the mix of Bermuda Triangle with Red Sun. Red Sun is a very intense, very personal song so the rappers better write their own raps and show, not just their skills, hearts.
  17. S. Korea is 14 hours ahead of me which means I have to watch The Unit at 8:30 in the morning. If that wasn't the case, I'd buy tissue and booze to make it through Saturday's episode. Just watching the preview made me heartsick. FYI to those wanting to avoid spoilers, twitter is full of pics and lists of who people think go eliminated. So, that's why I'm here. It's like unavoidable.
  18. I wouldn't mind spoilers but it's making me more anxious. I might avoid the thread till Saturday. Lee Geon Info below
  19. It's freezing cold and windy here. Listening to Danielion's Good Vibes Only Mix on youtube. I should write but I'm going to look for something to read.

  20. I know that there aren't many Timeo stans on this thread and that has to be discouraging. I think that he is much more popular in Korea. In the first episodes, he was shown as a master strategist while being humble. He's stayed in the number one spot for two weeks running. That's something big when you look at the competition. When someone is reserved and they smile at you, that smile means so much more. When Timeo and Hansol get comfortable, I think the walls will come down and people will find them even more charming. So don't worry. Dyslexia always lying to me. The Wikipedia page has Taro, Taeeun, and then Teaho in a row on the boy's side. It can be confusing when you reverse things like numbers. Sigh. I didn't have much hope before but I'll cling to my delusion till Saturday morning. They do have a cute Tom & Jerry relationship. If Seyong's leg healed they actually would be a hard combo to beat dance wise.
  21. Taro was sitting right on the cutoff at 45. He was one of the members of Her that stood out the most with his blue hair, the jump, and the kiss. So, there's a chance he moved up two or three spots to be safe.
  22. I can't sleep and it's after 5 am here. I'm really bored so here are some random Unit questions: I really thought that the Unit had ended all Seyong vs. Euijin in a good way but I guess some fans are still upset about it. Do you all think it would be a good thing or a bad thing if they're on the same team next mission? I think that, whatever groups debut, are constantly going to be compared to Produce 101 groups and M9s. Daewon & Raehwan are my biases. I want them to have all the exposure but I don't know if I want them to have to deal with the crap that comes with it. Do you know what type of concepts you'd like Unit Gs & Bs perform in an original song mission? I like the girl crush concept like Crazy and maybe a retro R&B but I'm open to just about anything that's not too cutesy. I know I'm longwinded so always feel free to cut as much as you want if you repost.
  23. This ended up being a double post. So, I'm editing it to say that my top 9 changes almost every 5 minutes. I hope you all have/had a great day.
  24. My picks are: Unit G Team in no particular order 1 Leader Seo Hayoon. She naturally seems to fall into that position. 2 Melody Day's Yeoeun 3 NC.A 4 SET's Eun.e 5 Euna Kim 6 Dia's Yebin 7 Dalshabet's Serri 8 Lee Suji 9 Sonamoo Euijin Unit B 1 Madtown's Lee Geon 2 Madtown's Daewon* 3 Bigstar's Feeldog 4 Troy's Kanto 5 Bigflo's Euijin 6 Ukiss's Jun 7 Bigstar's Raehwan* 8 100% Rockhyun 9 HBY's Taro+ If I had to base it on one person per group, then Daewon & Raehwan would be switched out with Topp Dogg's B-Joo & Myname's Gunwoo + I realize Taro is likely to be eliminated this round. I believe, based on body language, that Timoteo and Hansol are both very reserved people which comes across as cold and closed off. I think if they allowed themselves to be more vulnerable it would improve their stage performance and connection with the audience.
