yellow, hi
i know i haven't been back here in a while, my country is currently going through a coup d'etat so my mental well being has taken a hit and watching AOT hits home a bit too damn much. Much respect to Isayama's work, the storyline, the dialogue - gives me so much feels. I hope to continue watching when the situation here gets better and i look forward to season 2.
edit: i mean the next cour. part 2. lol

Damn it got so intense, it's so exciting
I didn't get much of the manga content spoiled up until now, but I heard about Eren turning into a villain and the infamous "list of crimes", it's truly starting now I see. The way Mikasa told him about his crimes, damn that hurt.
I have a friend that read a few scans and that told me she doesn't like Gabi for what she's gonna do... that gaze to Sasha scares me... pls don't kill my girl...
i think it depends on how you look at it imm

it truly does, i didn't feel like it's been 22 min when the ending started lmao
damn this episode was really interesting, understanding more about how reiner came to be the one we've known all this time, and annie... the scene where she beat up reiner because she wanted to go home truly hits when you know how she ended up
reiner truly got his mental stepped on by everyone and everything one after another
the end... that's eren right? can't wait to see the next episode omg
yes that was him.
omg i felt so bad for annie at that time. reiner was the reason they went forward with the mission and pushed through. that would mean that.... i dont wanna say it was reiner's fault for the consequences butttttt here we see the aftermaths. And he knows that too. he was the only one that returned to paradis after all. i wonder if he ever thought "i should've listened to annie"
i really love how was eren was the protagonist in the previous seasons and reiner the protagonist in the marley arc. gabi is also supposed to be eren's parallel. so many parallels i think that's why im so torn.
also taught me that these kids are do whatever they want with no communication whatsoever. lol

You might have to consider using a VPN to buy access (and to watch the concert). Some countries apparently didn't pay to get permission to display that option, meaning that it might be hard to watch the concert from where you are living. It's inconvenient, but that's an alternative.
thanks, the concerts been pushed back so i will consider using vpn meanwhile

am i the only one who thinks that the episodes are really fast paced? I'm getting hits after hits lol
anyway, i really felt it when baby reiner said he would take over the role of marcel. with his guilt his mission his hatred, his mentality was bound to be fucked up. also how old were the warriors then. same age as eren and the other kids when they were inside the wall probably having experience nothing yet. At the same time the worriers went through brutal training under marleyans supervision, being discriminated as well as being fed propaganda. ugh
For some reason Annie and Berthodt also had some kind of doubts, their own insecurities and their own stories, i wish they would've talked it out between them properly, tell reiner he wasn't alone..
anyway the 5th episode is gonna be good... i feel it.

I mean, not really. From a comment on r/kpop:
well the reason why medications like these (ambien, xanax, other sedatives) are classed and controlled because they can be addictive and can be abused which is actually quite common. thats why its always better to follow proper protocols. it's also probably the reason why people are more suspicious. i know someone who has often pull stunts like this due to abuse and you always have to worry about getting caught. if she could get presciption in korea i don't see why she had to get it shipped from japan. If she was using it while she was there it's totally fine. also this is not only in korea, different countries have different laws with medications and possession without prescription can lead you to a sentence of x years. to bring it you would have to declare and say you have xxx and you have documents for support. that's why it's always important to look up the laws with meds because its so different from country to country.

well that's even worse then

ok but this still wouldve happened to anyone who tried to bring banned medications into korea not just boa.
also do people really not look up medications or substances (even items for examples sex toys) that are banned/illegal in other countries. i do it everytime i go abroad and everytime i want to bring something into my country. we all know this often happens with meds too

my heart breaks into a thousand pieces for him
can't imagine going through something like that. he is probably having an internal battle on what he believes and what he was brought up to believe, what he wants to do and what he have to do (as a warrior). at least I have to say he is no longer brainwashed but now that he knows what is real, it only hurts him even more.
reiner is one complicated character, even more so than the mains. the writing for him is really well done

Wow after seeing the ending fully this time, I love it so much. And the full version of the song is even better.
About the episode itself, Reiner is ticking me off, I don't want to start to believe he has regrets and all to be disappointed later
I'm intrigued by the whole Falco / Gabbie / Armored titan situation. If the start of the season and the ending weren't so focused on Falco I would just think Gabbie is getting the titan... but is she not... what is Falco gonna do... thinking mmm
i might be biased about reiner here (well he is one of my fav :0 ) but when I watched the animation, the VA the bgm the cinematic effects of him talking at the dinner table of how evil it was back in Paradis, it really hit me in the feels. The rest of the table was asking him about how cruel Eldians were but he ended up describing normal people and was that the most evil thing he came up with? the potato?? the horror bgm dsjakdj. i still don't know if he regrets it or not but imagine marley feeding them propaganda about how eldians are devils of the earth how they're evil and how everyone deserves to die only for them to train with Eren and crew and becoming friends, realising that everything they were feed was all bs. i mean even if he did, back then this was his and the warrior's mission. there was nothing he could have done anyway. this is why i was excited for the animation, every emotion every sound every movement comes to life. It gave me heavy flashback to when they tried to kidnap Eren, Reiner forgot that he was a warrior not a soldier from the scouts and when Berholdt reminded him he snapped back to reality.

i dont hate it but im so not used to the cg like this... it's kinda fucking up my head.

I wouldn’t say it’s huge since there are people who never even heard of it, let alone arguing over it online. It just seems huge because it’s a western belief.
People who make CA claims are generally (far) leftist who are woke and have some sort of involvement in a minority group, be it POC or LGBT affiliated. Either part of said groups or a huge ally of said groups.
So people who follow pop music of any kind, fashion, online influencers, etc will be heavy on it while those who follow any other genre of music, gaming, adult shows, sports, etc won’t give a damn, especially if they’re right wingers (eek) or anti-SJWs.
But overall, it’s still a new concept that even westerners still question, let alone anyone else in any country, because to many people the description of CA = Racist, and people see (far) left wingers who make such claims generally be aggressive amongst it, so it’ll rub people the wrong way.
I imagine that’s why Koreans and other Asians are put off by international Kpop stans pushing it onto them, because it’s a western ideology and they feel as if it’s being forced on them in a harsh way.
I think people who mostly spends their time online knows what CA is and the issues surrounding them. which is what kpop fans are. which is why if companies and idols are going to target the kpop fans they should at least avoid this type of stuff. if the companies are targeting the public then sure, idk how the rest of the public works.
but i guess the definition of CA can be different from one person to another too. this can also make people decide whether its "right" or "wrong" ( well ok or not theres no right or wrong) because the description of CA you just said is different from what I believed(?)
but i still think if kpop companies are going pander to fans in the us market they should still be wary of it at least. if they didn't, i honestly wouldnt have said anything but NCT is heavily promoted in the us and they are being pushed there a lot.

Cultural Appropriate is a thing although the lines are a little blurred. But if they keep doing shit like this why you still promoting in the states. cultural appropriation might not be big in other countries but in America it's huge. If they were really popular then they would get draggeddd. this is gonna come back to haunt them

I've been spoiled only a few generic elements so good thing I'll still be surprised!
Honestly the change of animation hasn't been off putting, it's different but still looks like SNK. What truly feels different to me is how the episode was in the middle of a war that looks more like a modern war with trenches, modern weapons, etc. While the first seasons were more fantasy-horror, now we're truly in the war genre of anime. Like the previous seasons were already military/war, but as it was seen from the perspective of people that didn't know they were in a war against other humans, it felt different haha
ah yes aot in a nutshell, as they say
s1: humans vst titans
s2-3: titans vs titans
s4: humans vs humans
when i read it the new arc it felt like it was a whole new world to me too. i remember when i first watched s1 and i thought it was so overrated and overhyped. it was only until s3-4 that i felt that the point of focus took a turn and started liking it.

My thoughts on episode 1!
I'm a bit lost lmao, before watching the episode I watched some summary videos for the first 3 seasons as it has been a while since I've seen them.
I wasn't expecting the season to start in the middle of a battlefield (even if it showed it in teasers yeah lmao), I was naively expecting to see our main protagonists a bit.
It's crazy how changing point of view makes me feel like I'm watching a totally different anime. I've been spoiled on a few points so there's some things I expected, but not getting into it like that lmao.
I'm quite intrigued, I think I'll keep watching the episodes as they come out.
And as I said above, it quite feels like watching a different anime. Even the opening doesn't sound like SNK to me. Truly changing point of view, seeing the world through the eyes of the previous enemies changes everything. It's really interesting, even if I'm not really into war type of animes, the storyline keeps me hooked into it.
if you've been spoiled then you will know what's coming ahead. When I first started this arc in the manga I was confused and many people were too. Made me drop the manga once even but I went back after more chapters were out and it started coming all together. Also the reason it feels different might be change in studio (change in animation) and character designs and such. But what I think of it is that consider this is taking place 3-4 years after s3, it is not an awkward time (for example haikyuu design changes) because they've grown older and their outward appearances have changed also. (also the previous studio was the ones that had their own character designs whereas this is very faithful to the manga so this is what they should really look like)
----------------------
I really liked the first episode! I'm aware that there were some cuts from the manga but it's staying very true. Reiner just looks so fraking badass but the last part broke my hearts ugh </3. I can't wait to see more of gilliard! and all the new warrior contenders are so cute! including gaby! they all sound like what i thought they would sound like. I'm quite glad that despite not having the main cast, people still tuned in to watch and it's proving quite popular. But at the same time with the confusing anime only watchers might be turned off by it. I really wish anime watchers could watch like 8 episodes in one ago and be quite shocked at the turn of events. I find that waiting a week in between episodes just makes me forget things that happened in the previous episode. lol I really liked the ed. all aot soundtracks are somewhat dark but this made me feel i'm longing for something. perhaps longing for peace and freedom. like trying to find myself after losing everything. anyway great ed.

i'm not an expert but shojo are mostly about everyday lives, like a lot of shojos are slice of life animes, while shonen is more fantasy?
i feel like in shojo they try to be realistic, while in shonen it's often fantasy so it's other goals
i don't watch much shojo either bc it's not my cup of tea, but that's what i get from the ones i saw and what i know in general about this genre haha
Shoujo is aimed at females while Shounen is aimed for males. It's not about being realistic but as you can see shoujo has a lot of pretty boys "bishounens and ikemen" and that's what girls like. It is mainly associated with Romance and stuff. Shounen is more associated with adventure or fighting (thats why it mostly goes towards the "fantasy" side, but that's not really the point) and their target market is young males. The term Shounen literally means young males and Shoujo literally means young females.
Shoujo eg: idk , fruits basket, vamipire knight. i wouldn't say these are "realistic" but some more than others such as tora dora, monthly girls nozaki
Shounen eg: one piece naruto bleach KNY (see the similarities?)
There are also other genres (well not genres but classification? i guess? ) such as Josei/ Seinen where its marketed towards adults. I would say Josei ones are more realistic than than shoujo ones.
Josei eg:
Wotaku ni wa Koi wa muzukashii (more realistic and shows u a peek into love lives of otakus, really good <3)but of course all ages can watch any genre sometimes you even get a mix

Apparently there was an article about her looking like a mix of Suzy and Taeyeon, but I do find her looking more like the latter than the former.
She does look like Taeyeon, during her debut days. Also Yuuichi in here
