  1.

Only a big company like JYP, YG or Loen would be able to afford SNSD as a whole; with that in mind, think about how these companies have managed thier artists. JYP loses it's shit when they have more than a few gorups to manage, YG is absolute shit to his girl groups and Loen focuses more on solo artists as far as I know, and only really have IU and Yezi as truly sucessful ones. Signing with other companies would be a too risky move for them as they wouldn't be able to handle all 8.

Woolim is an SM subsidiary and dumb af so they're out of the question. FNC: Nope; they're only going downhill after Yoo Jae Suk leaves. Pledis: Forget about it. Big Hit: I don't know if they have the resources to to manage anyone else but BTS atm. Starship: Hell no. Now, many would hate the idea of this, but actually Coridel is rich af and they only have Jessica and another nugu girl group as far as I know, but they also have management issues. Oh, and the public would only "allow" this move if given a really good explanation of what happened back in 9/30.

The outcomes I see from this are:

    1. They re-sign with SM, if they manage to work out the logistics. This would be the best outcome of all as they benefit from each other; SM is just too dumb to accept it.
    2. They branch out on their own and risk years of legal battles against SM for rights to the Soshi brand. They however, get to call out the shots for their own careers and would be able to keep relasing new material under a different group name, as soloists or actresses/models/mcs. They would need a kick ass team though.
    3. They sign with a different agency as a group. Unlikely as some of the girls have already re-signed and there's a high probability of being blocked if they chose the wrong agency.
    4. They decide to call it quits. The most profitable girls (Taeyeon and Yoona) will most likely get a good contract deal with SM; the others might get lesser deals, or they go out on their own to pursue their own careers with different agencies.

I can imagine that headline now.. SNSD quits SM, signs with CORDIEL

But that's probably never gonna happen warstarplz.png

I want 1. to be the outcome.. all the other outcomes seem either too protracted, messy or upsetting lol

  2. Possibly. It's hard to say for sure, though, since those could have already been in the works for a while (or even part of their previous contracts).

I have a hard time seeing SNSD continue if more than one member walks tbh. Assuming Tae, Tif, and Seo all re-up, there is a good chance TTS keeps going, though. Overall, I think it would mostly be solo/Station work and acting gigs.

If the members want to pull a Shinhwa, I guess they will have to decide if they want to keep the name and song catalog. If so (I bet they would), it will be a long slog in the courts to fight for that. They would probably win, but it will take a long time. I suppose another option is for everyone to walk and sign with a company like JYP. He may not want to go there, but I have to imagine Tae and Yoong falling into his lap at the very least is quite appealing. You still have the same issue with the group name and song catalog, though.

I'll be honest. It's probably going to get really ugly if any of them walk. If all members walk it will make 9/30 look like a walk in the park as far as smearing campaigns go. The anonymous leaks to Dispatch would be vicious and flying like crazy, and there is very little the girls can do to fight those. That little Tiffany acting leak would have just been phase 1.

Yeesh, it's tough to watch Soshi cry.

    Hm thats interesting

I was thinking that its certain none of the members will leave snsd as they kept saying they want snsd to go on.. and if only tts stayed on and did comebacks as tts, it would be too hard for most sones seeing them knowing that theres no more snsd as a whole. I also feel like they won't leave sm because like you said of the whole keeping name + songs

if snsd leave sm, it seems crazy that sm would even think to do a smear campaign against snsd.. it would reflect so badly on sm, not snsd as wouldnt it be too obvious what sm are trying to do. also i think jyp wouldnt even take care of them well, didnt he disband wg for no reason?

  3. ok so I backtracked a few pages and saw the whole contract sitch explanation and I just want to ask what will happen to snsd if hypothetically neither sm or snsd budge and it becomes stalemate which seems to me like it already is heading in that direction.

what are snsd's options? would they still do group activities or would the members just stay under sm as solos and never have group activities again? or?

  4. Idk but I feel that is coming? I mean Yoona and Sunny all releasing songs in the same month amidst comebacks from popular groups/soloists should mean that they have something for us in store in the later months? This is ofc assuming everything with their contract went well.

Each day that passes with no news I get scared that it's going to keep taking ages till we hear about their contracts and a repack gets further and further away... sigh.

Are Yoona's and Sunny's individual activities a sign that contracts for them went ok and that they resigned already?
