That literally goes for every idol. Hara and Jiyoung got a lot of hate 5 years ago but Hara's image has improved a lot since then due to the shows she's been on. She's not going to be there for obvious reasons though (even if she's a good dancer). It would be more likely for Gyuri, Seungyeon or Nicole to be on the show. The first two are doing well for themselves in Korea (especially Seungyeon), and Nicole could easily be a dance mentor, even if she's the least active/popular member these days. P101 season one had mentors that weren't chosen for their popularity so it shouldn't be a problem.

I meant that to be an MC, you have to have a good and clean reputation to attract viewers from both countries to watch (the ones the public respect and rarely/never shitted on like BoA and TVXQ, for example). KARA members are far from that.

Lol KARA as mentors? I know and don't necessarily agree with Knetz who shitted on them alot for their talent either because I know they're decent but its the truth that their singing skills are lacking. None of them is even near Taeyeon's, Ailee's, Eunji's, Yuju's , Luna's etc. level. And for dancing, none of them can join the ranks of Hyoyeon, BoA, Kahi, Chungha, etc. KARA members were decent/average at best but nothing extraordinary to qualify them as mentors. Lol you really think its possible for Nicole to be chosen for this season after they had Kahi (the queen of dancing) as mentor/trainer for 2 seasons? What a joke. They would've gotten someone with skills and experience that's on her level like BoA, Hyoyeon, etc. From Kahi to Nicole, that would've been a downgrade.

You want KARA because you're a fan and biased. Clearly.

  2. I think we'll see Japanese contestants that aren't from the 48-groups. It's the only way to get enough Japanese trainees. Get the Japanese K-pop fans in on it.

They really didn't... BoA is also far from relevant and popular in Japan these days. The only Korean that is successful in Japan that I can think of is Jiyoung.

Korean public/Knetz. They basically hated KARA especially Hara for breathing and KARA already split up.

BoA is still a recognizable and respected name in both Korea and Japan who has talent and is still active. KARA can't relate.

This is a Korean show. Jiyoung's popularity is in Japan only, at the same time, she's not relevant nor active in Korea, so, won't be possible to be picked as MC/mentor for a Korean show. To be mentor you have to have talent but Knetz shitted on KARA alot for that too.

  3. I can see BoA in this or the former Kara girls. For guys maybe Takuya could come and be the other MC.

Takuya isn't a popular figure nor relevant/popular enough in the public to be MC for this imo. But who knows, we'll see. The show could use a Japanese who can speak Korean as co-MC. I honestly don't see KARA girls as MC tbh. The public hated them and always threw shade at them for their talent especially towards Hara. If they were still in DSP as KARA (& not disband), together, they'd have a chance but they've all split up and went their own ways and under different management now. Also, they're no longer relevant in Japan. They might get Hara since she's done alot of variety shows and MCing gigs but like I said, she's not well-liked with the Korean public. The show needs to have a well-liked figure to get viewers from both countries.

The best fit would definitely be BoA and/or TVXQ. Both are popular, respected and recognizable name/brand in both Korea and Japan. When there's someone as likeable and respected as BoA and TVXQ,

why would you get someone less than them.

  4. I think BoA should return as this season's MC. No one in Korea is more fitting than her. Not only can she speak Japanese but she's also a popular name in Japan. She might not be as popular as her heydays there but ask anyone on the streets in Japan if they know Korean artist, one of the first names they'll name is her.

If they're gonna continue the tradition of having an MC who is the opposite gender of the participants, I think Jang Geun Seuk fits and may return because he can speak Japanese and he's pretty well-known in Japan. But he said he's gonna enlist after his drama, so..... TVXQ Yunho is a pretty good fit too but I'm not sure about his MCing skills.

Getting Jpop stars as mentors lol ...the possibility is slim to none. Hardly anyone can speak Korean. The only celebs I know who can is Fuji Mina (an actress) and a SMAP member (with not much of a talent in singing and dancing, I'm saying this in the nicest way possible lol). And few other Korea based Japanese actors. Acting skills are irrelevant and not needed in an idol group survival show.
