  1. The best thing you can do on stan tweet is use the block and mute buttons. I don't know why people don't do it unless they're looking for an opportunity to start shit. There are different ROTY awards. (G)i-dle meets criteria for some of them better than others. So far their biggest competitors seem to be *oona and probably *zone. Ultimately, some groups will win and no amount of arguing back and forth on Twitter or wherever will change the outcomes. There's no point so why bother focusing on it. Also, the tweets I saw didn't have much reach. They're annoying (like mosquitoes or something), but that's it.
  2. She said on weibo that she'll digest both good and bad comments. From the videos we've gotten she seems sort of competitive, so I hope she can see negative comments as a challenge to overcome. Their success so far does mean antis are coming fast and she's easiest to target. I've seem Minnie and Miyeon being criticized too and it's probably worse in Korea because they're not in the spotlight as much internationally. Hope they stay strong, work hard, and come back even better once Hann promos are over. I know fans want them to rest, but Cube would be good to let them gain experience on many stages in the interim. It's the best way to learn.
  3. Twice doesn't need a drastic, 180 degree concept change. If they removed the shouting and sang at a more natural key, their songs would instantly sound less "childish" while keeping the same cute and joyful concept. I really don't understand people who want them to switch over on their fans like that especially when they're still selling well as they are.

  5. The HQs will be a blessing. They're all so pretty in their own individual ways. Thumbs up to the photographer. Soojin looks especially amazing. Click here to view the Tweet Click here to view the Tweet
  6. Good interview about HANN and the past few month since debut. Translation from Soompi ----- (G)I-DLE Talks About Their Success, Their Inspiration, Filming For Their MV, And More (G)I-DLE made their debut last May with “LATATA,†and impressively won their first music show win only 20 days after their debut. (G)I-DLE recently made their first comeback with digital single “HANN,†which found success on many music charts. Written and composed by leader Soyeon, “HANN†expresses the betrayal and loneliness felt after a breakup. When asked if they could feel their popularity, Soyeon answered, “Ranking on the charts was more memorable than getting first place. It’s because we had talked amongst ourselves and and said we wouldn’t be disappointed if we didn’t chart. When we did actually chart, people around us congratulated us a lot.†Miyeon added, “I went shopping with my mom on my day off, and our song came out in the shopping center. Even though we ranked high, it didn’t feel real, but people sang along to the song. I was so surprised.†The members then talked about covering BTS’s “Fake Love†as well as flash mobbing in New York. Soojin explained, “We covered BTS and it was really hard as we had to show a lot of power in the small details. Thankfully, Soyeon is good at that so she taught us well and we worked hard to learn it.†Minnie commented, “When we were trainees we always said we wanted to go to New York. We didn’t know we would go so quickly after debuting. It was really cool to see foreigners singing along in Korean and recognizing us.†As a self-producing idol, Soyeon then shared her inspiration behind their songs, saying, “I write songs thinking about the members a lot, and how to make songs that would fit the members well. The members are my muse.†She talked more on producing “HANN,†commenting, “This time, there wasn’t a lot of time. We were in the middle of promoting when our comeback date was decided, and I had to write the song in that kind of situation. It would be a lie to say that I didn’t feel pressured.†Soyeon explained that she had thought a lot about whether to write a second “LATATA†or whether a different song could overcome “LATATA.†She continued, “In the end, I wrote what I wanted. I also wanted to write more of what I wanted since I know the members well and what would be good for them. There were good parts as much as there was pressure, so I’m enjoying working on songs.†The group also explained how Shuhua’s dance solo in “HANN†came to be. Shuhua explained that it had been Soyeon’s idea, who said, “When I first thought of the overall concept for ‘HANN,’ I thought of Shuhua’s calm and mysterious aura. So I put in Shuhua’s dance solo. She previously showed contemporary dance during an evaluation, and I was inspired by that a lot.†The members then brought up their music video. Soyeon talked about how she had said she wanted to film the music video in a desert when she wrote the song. Though they weren’t able to actually go to a desert, they transformed the set of the music video into a desert. She added, “They added a layer of sand on the set, so it was really hard to dance. We originally had a scene where we put a scorpion on our hand, but it was too wild that day. There were a lot of daring scenes with it but it was edited so that we were just pretending to touch it, so it was a bit regretful.†When asked how it felt to appear on “Ask Us Anything,†Yuqi commented, “It was an honor to appear on the show. I learned a lot of Korean on the show, and met a lot of seniors that I respect. It was cool and a lot of fun. I’d like to go on the show again with the other members. They took really good care of me.â€
  7. Click here to view the Tweet lol Cube only has themselves to blame if that was the expectation. Even in this short time, Shuhua only looks like an ice princess when she's nervous, not moving, or not interacting with anyone. She didn't even fake the image for Weibo.
  8. They answered these during the show. Click for the thread. Click here to view the Tweet Here are the major takeaways because I'm not posting them all individually: - Soyeon carries the most stuff around - Soyeon and Soojin give the least reactions when speaking with other members - Soyeon and Yuqi check the charts most often - Shuhua is the bravest - Shuhua (Miyeon and Soojin sometimes) keeps the others awake The answers varied on the other questions.
  9. From the little I've heard of her that sounds like it'd be a bad decision. She's an all arounder with leader vibes like Soyeon. Having them in the same group would be a waste. If she doesn't make the final lineup and they want her in a group, put her on another show and/or release solos until they've found the right trainees to work alongside her. Eta: She 15. Yeah, no. She'll debut in a few years. I agree that aside for choreo formations there's no reason to add anyone else. They're already doing well with the current members.
  10. Sorry. I didn't mean to neg you my finger slipped. Up voted elsewhere to balance.
  11. It's a great idea. Just with they'd handled it properly with the permits.
  12. All role play accounts on a Twitter should be banned
  13. Done with humoring people bragging about live singing. "My faves said they always sing li-" against a loud backing track with their mics on low. Who do you think you're fooling. Eat CDs?! Please use your ears and your sense. It's difficult to sound exactly like the CD on a good day and it's damn near impossible if you're moving around a lot while performing. I don't even know why that's a compliment. If I wanted to listen to the recording I'd just turn it on, but the fun thing about lives is seeing a different take on the song. BTW I'm not saying that every artist has to sing live 100% of the time. I'm just over people claiming stuff that's obviously false.
  14. I don't think Dramax is a channel that gets high ratings. The only thing I've watched from there was 1% if Anything and its highest ratings were lower than this ones first episode, but it was still pretty well received internationally (and I think it gave both its stars a bit of a boost) and I think people said it did well for its channel.
  15. I'll add an additional UO to this post. I don't have much patience for fans complaining, however valid, about Big 3 companies and wanting their faves to leave because most of those idols will re-sign as soon as their contracts expire. The benefits of a large company are often downplayed because people want the hard work of their biases to be acknowledged, but the advantage of company resources (whether it's money or connections) reputation, and recognition cannot be stressed enough. There are plenty of talented idols out there, but many of then cannot be seen/heard. Unless the idol needs a particular freedom the positives far outweigh the negatives and idols know that.
  16. That gif with the microphone and the iced coffee or whatever? Hate it. The recent updated version by the same idol? Hate it even more. Couldn't even control my expression when I saw them side by side. Eta: Click here to view the Tweet
  17. I hope he's allowed some time off if he needs it. What a crappy couple of months.
  18. People who jump into things without realizing that there's actual work involved *sigh*

  19. He continues to give off warm vibes. I think that's why a lot of people seem to like him despite not knowing anything about him. And thank you, Katness, for working so hard and regularly updating both threads. Cr
  20. Speaking of Ku's guitar skills idk if his old videos on insta were posted here (newest to oldest) the one below is my favorite Three more in the spoiler box Direct link to all five
  21. Aside from just liking the song, this is what really struck me about the performances. The choreography felt very equal, they looked like a unit up there rather than the girls being props or accessories to the male dancer. "Look at how handsome and successful I am to be surrounded by all of these women. Don't you want to be me?" is the usual vibe that I get in these setups and not having it increased my enjoyment.
  22. lol same. That fifth paragraph, me. The penultimate, also me. But I get all of it really. Nice to know there are a few of us in the same boat.
