Its always weird how that, 'its was all a misunderstanding' excuse is usually used when clearly the person or the company in question was in the wrong. SM has a long standing history of treating their employees horribly(then again alot of these companies do) but especially with contract disputes. In fact, people brought up SM's history of having long contacts with previous employees, then being petty towards those employees who are able to finally leave, by using their power behind the scenes to stop them from working. This is a repeated issue with SM through the ages tbh, so how did people forget about that all of a sudden?? Very weird to see company stans around still.

Why do these monsters always think being under the influence of something excuses their behavior?? Or gives them the excuse to do what they want to people? And I'm not too surprised by the light sentencing. I'm hoping the victim has a good support system, therapy ect. It is truly beyond a nightmare to be forced to live with or be around your abuser.

People can't just let bullies get their comeuppance. It's always a weird cycle of victims getting justice, yet somewhere someone has to twist things around to somehow make the bully the victim instead. This is on Soojin, so she has to live with her actions. Her remaining fans need to understand that.

Fans say that's her favorite shirt and has worn it before?? Wow. She doesn't care and will more than likely wear it again. She's a grown woman from South Korea(this is taught in their curriculum btw), how doesn't she know what that symbol means? There's no excuse for this. This is an ongoing cultural trend with idols wearing it 'hidden' on clothes to going as far as fantasizing about Nazi soldiers/or expressing Nazi sentiments themselves 'pretending' they didn't know. They just got comfortable.

A certain subsection of fans' dislike of Jaden was always silly to me. They wanted to believe Loona came up with everything themselves pre-debut and after for some reason so when Jaden left, deep down they knew that wasn't true. The worst I've seen is that they claimed it was sexist to essentially credit Jaden for his work. Then all of sudden fans hated Loona's music from predebut all the way up until Jaden's exit(basically the concepts he created). Just a lot of immaturity. The truth is, Loona's music suffered after he left and those fans wanted to keep blaming him for years now. That argument seems to be gone now since Heejin, Kim Lip, Jinsoul and Choerry are now going to his company. Hopefully the other members join them.

Sam Okyere apologizes for his controversies three years ago
Goldenprawn replied to drakan's topic in Netizen Nation
The way the delusional commenters in that post don't see they're only proving him right is no surprise whatsoever. Also, he owed no apologies. He isn't the one that needs/needed to change and do better. -
BBC has gotten away with so much over the years. From overworking everyone to not paying people, having Loona perform or film in unsafe conditions etc and then pulling this. Its not surprising yet surprising at the same time this happened considering how much the company constantly had Chuu at the forefront everywhere, doing just about everything by herself. I remember there was a time fans were bragging that since BBC had a female CEO nothing bad would happen to Loona as a girl group. I thought it was silly to assume that because we all already know most of these CEOs/companies in general are corrupt, money is their only concern and they will continue only caring about saving face when exposed. They will also keep happily lying to fans despite openly mistreating their artists.

Some (Animal Crossing)New horizons unpopular opinions; -The new additions in the update are perfect, but I do really wish devs added multi-crafting, as well as npcs/villagers specifically addressing your male or female character as the gender you chose at the beginning of the game again. Previous games did a great job of doing the latter as it made the game even more personal like the characters were speaking to you directly as a form of immersion. So, although I do love the character interactions, players only being called by his/or her Island rep's name and spoken to in general terms removed that personal touch/personality from New Horizons that existed in the earlier games. Contrary to popular opinion, its that and not the fact that the characters used to verbally abuse you in previous games that gave them more 'personality'. Which I'm still not sure why people missed that since fans can't even handle their favorite villager asking to leave(despite the fact they don't leave on their own anymore), or people publicly correctly discussing time traveling as cheating(which is also weird considering how low stakes animal crossing is) or racism in the community yet they want characters in a cute game treating them like garbage again? -Characters being business partners/besties/roommates or coworkers =/= couple. So, I'm not sure how anyone ships the npcs that aren't already married(Cyrus/Reese, Kapp'n/Leilani) or even villagers for that matter. It's off putting to me personally since friendship is a key theme in the series yet we all have to keep constantly stumble on shipping, or gross porn posts in Animal Crossing hashtags. -I understand the game helped a lot of people during the beginning of the pandemic, but there are really too many people with unhealthy fixations on certain aspects of the game, being creeps/racists, scamming people(out of in-game bells and irl money) etc then using the game to express those things publicly and getting angry when people discuss/rightfully condemn it. And on that note, the game is wholesome, but a good chunk of the community is nowhere close to being that way. I've met some good people but I've seen/come across some messed up ones. -I'm not sure why fans say crafting/building, having money/banking aspects of the game are geared towards only adult players. The series has always been geared towards kids, this game included. Mostly training them in the sense of paying taxes, having a job, meeting new people(animals) different from you, architecture, banking, responsibilities etc. Kids always mimicked that from adults by playing grocery store, bank or having toys that reiterated that. Even the added crafting is just arts and crafts we did as kids. Of course adults relate to those those things because we do those things now but use the game as a pleasant escape from real life(like any other video game). That's about it. -Nintendo isn't printing a limited amount of amiibos, they have the stock considering how insanely cheap amiibos are to make. It's just that they have always been slowly drip feeding stock for stores/online and for themselves for past series cards, just like they're doing now with series 5 cards. They do it on purpose as a way to look like they're fixing the scalper situation, when really its gotten worse since the pandemic. They don't care because they like imposing false scarcity like they usually do anyway. They even admitted it when the series 5 cards went on preorder from the Nintendo store and they offered a random previous series amiibos with your order. Now stores have all of a sudden gotten the sanrio cards from awhile ago again but are only being given only 2-5 packs for series 5 amiibos per store. I know Nintendo sees themselves more as a mafia-esque toy company before anything else but its a shame they get away with this so much, for so long.

I don't think anything was a misunderstanding. If so, why take him out of those ads and two upcoming films?? Then in his 'apology' to fans(for whatever reason he apologized to fans first) he mentioned he'll contact her later on? And unsurprisingly she gets doxxed/harassed. It sucks no one is allowed to speak out against mistreatment without that happening. I hope she's successful in her legal actions for that. Too many people keep getting away with it.

Thats always the strangest thing to hear from stans for me too. They get extremely deluded into thinking their like for a celeb, despite their exposed personality, matters more than anything and they can insert themselves this way. Like its okay to have an opinion, disagree or what have you online about a situation. But attempting to take steps like this is so disrespectful, lacking boundaries and strange. I see it happening more and more these days for whatever reason. They admit none of us personally know these celebs, but turn around and do things like this. This is disappointing, as I've been getting into his shows lately and wanted to catch up on Hometown Chax3. Guess I'm done. Good luck to his ex-gf. Makes me wonder if he's done this to any other women.

-I haven't been much of a fan of Loona's music for a year now. I always find myself disappointed now with a recent release and just go back to their predebut/early debut music. It's also extremely messed up that so many people working for bbc haven't been paid for such a long time. Then there's the years of financial issues boiling over recently with bbc(and the rumors of money laundering along with it) despite the cfs/solo activities certain members have been doing so idk what to think as things can go in any random way with the future for them. It's just disappointing how things have turned out. -I'm not sure why its not common sense but companies/schools make it worse for themselves when they don't immediately fire/or expel bullies in the workplace/school. They know who they are already, so no sense in them dragging their feet about things. Then in the case of friends turning into bullies, unfriending them for their mental health. I know the latter, unfriending people, is difficult because you feel as if you'd be lonely without them or you knew them for years and think they can change. But you deserve better than someone antagonizing you all the time. You don't owe them anything. With workplace/school bullying, I know companies only care about their money bottomline. However, in the long run since they don't care about victims they should at least care they are messing their own money up by constantly covering for vile people(and proving they're just as vile too by nurturing that environment). It's better to just let them go instead of punishing the victim(s). There are more well deserving people that can replace them that won't give you any trouble. -There are definitely some fandoms worse than others. Some are mid-tier/average, some are horrible but then some are just the most horrific fandoms ever I've ever had the misfortune of coming across(and leaving) in my years of being a fan of many things/or people. The worst ones are spending their days for years constantly and consistently harassing, sending death threats, doxxing ect or covering for other fans that do those things by saying, 'there are worst fandoms out there'. Often are fueled by making whomever they stan a martyr despite that person being generally godawful, a criminal(i.e R.Kelly/Seungri etc), needing to be charged as a criminal, or defending obvious predators by threatening or siccing their fans on victims over the years(i.e Nicki Minaj).

[PC] Knets react to Inets translating their comments from Theqoo
Goldenprawn replied to rananicolee's topic in Netizen Nation
I always wanted to see reactions to translations lol. It's funny how some say some comments arent a big deal but will have inetz' similar comments translated too. A great rule of thumb is if you post on a public site, anything is to be/should be expected even for a different country. I think it is important to broaden ones horizons(ie in terms of translating comments)for a niche hobby you share with people in a different country. Insight is important to know good or bad. -
lol at someone saying they wanted to see him dance too. I didn't get the point of this either and thought it was fake at first too.

I wish stans here would understand everyone doesn't react the same way to being trauma developed from being bullied for years. Hyunjoo spoke through a family member, whereas Mina did not. Both are pretty obviously victims, and yet people think they can say one is more believable based on their narrow view on mental illness/trauma. Sometimes its difficult for someone to act 'normal' and not lash out or hurt themselves or other people. Some stay quiet, some do not as a result of being made to keep quiet for a long time. We're used to seeing people publicly turn the other cheek for things like this. Or remain polite but that doesn't go on all the time. I'm also not too sure why people are comparing this to Hwayoung. That situation has zero commonality with Hyunjoo or Mina. On the topic, it is truly grating to see bullies not just do better as people and continue to antagonize their victims like this. It's really disgusting.

[NB] Kwon Mina goes on another rant about fake celebrities and AOA
Goldenprawn replied to Youahaen's topic in Netizen Nation
There's no time limit on how long someone who's suffered multiple forms of tramua in silence should feel the affereffects, or how long they have a 'right' to talk about it in an industry/country like this where mental health isn't treated properly. Especially given the fact that the people who harmed her faced no criminal charges whatsoever. Also not surprising her bully had other victims. I'm not sure how anyone could twist suffering like this into making her a liar somehow?? That's so bizarre to me reading comments like that here and on Twitter. I hope she is able to find some proper help and not answer to toxic trolls/people online who claim they want idols(former or otherwise) to be treated better. She doesn't owe them anymore of her time. -
I'm not sure if the boyfriend issue is true or not, however, the bullying thing was already proven to have happened by Jimin herself. When Mina first started talking about what she experienced, she mentioned no names at all. Then Jimin came out of nowhere making shady, nasty comments proving her guilt. I'm not sure how people forgot about that among other things that happened. It's sad Mina is involved in something else, but if the boyfriend thing is true that is messed up. If not, its still unfortunate. Either way, this situation doesn't negate the group bullying issue.

It's not up to fans to decide if or when someone who is a victim of bullying by their fave should 'get over it', or complain how long ago it was. It's the victim(s) prerogative if they want to forgive or air out what was done to them. And no not everyone was a bully or raging misogynist or worse to their classmates or friends. That's not normal behavior. And much of the time when someone gets away with that uncorrected they continue to act that way as adults. Not to mention even if victims 'backtrack' their statements its usually because they can't afford to get sued even if they are telling the truth. I understand being a fan of someone for many years and hearing news about how horrible of a person they were/or still are. I've also had to stop being a fan of several people recently and in the past. It is difficult to let go, but empathy for victims should always come first. That should be without question. Fans need to understand there's a pretty huge cultural issue with bullying in Korea that is handled in the worst possible way in comparison to other countries. We all have to own up to our past and current issues. Putting a celeb on a pedestal and ignoring facts because you want someone to stan forever won't change the trauma they brought to other people. What also comes into play is that certain companies are already known for constantly lying to fans about things or bribing victims to protect their bottom line(i.e their profitable groups or popular employees), how are they suddenly worth hearing out to clear issues like this?? Fan should have been keeping this mind since this whole thing started;

I never would have thought things would turn out like this with Jackson. I stopped being a got7 fan awhile ago for other reasons but at the time he was one of my favorite members. He has no soul to be okay with doing things like this. I'm beyond disgusted still even after finding out about this last week. I am however glad to see companies take some initiative and are dropping people.
-
So far that hasn't happened yet, hopefully it stays that way. Much of what I went through my bullies weren't punished at all when really they should've been expelled and put into juvenile delinquency or worse. So I would probably expose them if they did become famous. I'm still affected by flashes of memories of it every so often 15+ yrs later. I don't think I would be alone in exposing them either since they also severely bullied other people similar to me.
-
Yeah he needs to be locked up. I hope his victims are able to heal, and find justice. It's crazy to think, I was just about to go catch up on 'River Where the Moon Rises' later this week then all of this gets revealed. I just feel so sick, sorry for his victims and then reminded of my own bullies from years ago.

AESPA consist of real life members & virtual reality members
Goldenprawn replied to Lubbin's topic in Celebrity News & Gossip
Wow that's definitely not the description I was expecting to read about this group. At first I thought people were joking or something about this. But yeah, this is on the creepy side tbh. Although in a way the concept kind of sheds light on a subset of fans who already see real idols as their avatars now. I guess this was the eventual next step.
