  1. any act can be rationalized as long as people believe it is right. it is what it is... i hope that man gets better. plus... that clip is up everywhere, not only on CGTN... it's on SCMP, twitter, whatever other platform...

just wanted to add that ideological differences are fine. we all have different views after all... but it shouldn't justify violence, especially setting a man on fire. like... why is that even considered to be okay? people can all express their ideas right? why should that man be burnt just for speaking his mind. it is actually quite scary to see so many people rationalize such acts...

  2. I really didn't want to type any of this, but it's just so ridiculous. I can't say anything in public lest I offend someone and get hit or verbally abused (not even joking, I've seen it happen). I really don't want to hear so much chanting at night where I live.

The end does not justify the means. Peaceful protest is alright, but blocking the way to the airport, throwing molotov cocktails, blocking roads, destroying mtr and public property is not the proper way of going about things. Just because you think your view is correct, it doesn't justify the violent acts. Taking the law into your own hands is not the way to go about things. Plus, the extradition bill was already retracted... yet people still think it is okay to cause chaos because of their supposed moral high ground.

And regarding police brutality... every other country would have stamped out such chaotic protests, yet no one ever talks about that. Should the police just stand there when people are literally destroying public property and blocking roads, with molotov cocktails hurled at them? What would you have the police do? It's mad... the herd mentality.

I know that no matter what I say, no one will listen - I will be seen as evil and misguided for not supporting the violent protests...but I'm literally going mad. How can chaos be the new normal.
