  1. Anticipate another homoerotic bop to snatch our gay asses up (like we deserve).
  2. What? That's so random. Who's the one supposedly hitting on him? I like their last couple of songs but don't really follow them, though I do know who Ace is because he kinda has a vibe that would attract gay guys so I could see him being hit on, but I don't know who else in the group would be coming on to him to the point he'd want to leave. Seems like they all get along pretty well.
  3. Nobody said they were straight, just that one guy can get another guy a kiss on the cheek and a cake for their birthday without it meaning he is also serving up a piece of his cake as well. There is nothing suggestive in your post sis.
  4. We've discussed interactions in depth between these two that were actually suspect, and this was what convinced you? I thought this ship had died because I don't find them suspect together at all anymore.
  5. Edward exaggerates his industry connections. He knows mostly nugus from small companies like Aoora and Coco. He's hung out with Jae from Day6 a couple of times, but they're not really friends. There are hundreds of idols so I'm sure there are probably some who are homophobic, but I wouldn't put much stock in what Eddy says. ------ Sidenote: I'm mad at y'all for sending me back down the rabbithole that is NCT and their gay group dynamics! Jk, not rlly. I never paid attention to the Dreamies but Jaemin and Jeno are something else. Then you have Jungwoo coming out the closet gate strong, then gay kings Ten and Taeyong...all promoting this year! It's almost TOO MUCH.
  6. Sorry, I'm really pedantic and nerdy about this stuff, so don't take this like I'm being condescending or argumentative:
  7. I'm spoilering because this is off topic but stil related to being gay and religious in the U.S.
  8. I'm spoilering this response so anyone who is over this conversation can move along:
  9. This comment is rich because his whole schtick is playing to a gay sass queen stereotype and openly thirsting to ride Wonho's D. His fans are so dense, ugh.
  10. I was just reading about this over on PULL (here's the link to a written summary of the video if you're curious, but you won't be giving his nonsense views) and was about to go in, but I'm trying to have an enjoyable evening in. I used to watch him until the Kyla incident when he revealed himself as a self-hating edgelord with an over inflated ego. Lately, sharing his unsolicited ignorant and regressive opinions and caping for the status quo (while benefiting from the very social justice movements he complains about) is his brand. His own music ambitions have been a flop so now I guess he's trying to become the new Milo based out of Korea.
  11. The video was entitled something like "BoA confesses her true feelings about Key" when in the interview she explicitly said they developed a close noona-dongsaeng relationship so how that translates to them being suited romantically was already deluded. And that video with Amber reminded me of how they used to get shipped together because "she's butch and he's femme so they would match well" . And we're the delusional ones who need to stay grounded in reality
  12. The most convincing thing is when they go out of their way to signal an interest in or draw attention from the same sex. See Jackson as an example of someone who takes every opportunity presented to flirt with and swoon over a man. That's the closest you can get without someone just directly coming out. What initially sets off my gaydar though varies, it's mostly body language or interactions in certain contexts. Yes, and the queerbaiting the industry engages in warps the perceptions of Korean culture in the minds of non-Koreans and it reinforces stereotypes about Asian men in the west. Like I saw some video where people were shipping BoA with KEY of all people, and someone commented "but isn't he thought to be gay," and this pressed fangirl flipped out saying "just because he is feminine and into fashion doesn't make him gay! That's just how Korean men are!" Like no girl, not all Korean men are effeminate and into fashion, and that's not even the reason people think he's gay. It's not even feeding an obsession with actual gay people with how homophobic these fans continue to be, but the titilation from seeing something taboo while simultaneously asserting the subjects overall desirability ("oh this guy is so hot, even other men can't help fall in love") and presenting homosexuality as a joke. It's really gross.
  13. This isn't firm evidence, but I found this reaction of The Boyz Kevin and Jacob to Sam Kim showing up at their cafe amusing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELdE3QQWItg Jacob especially looks lovestruck. There also seems to be some subtext between Kevin and Jacob like they are in on something everyone else sans maybe Eric doesn't know about. i think they have a lot more in common than just singing, dancing, and being Canadian if you know what I mean .
  14. They haven't been subbed yet, but all I can gather from the random English was they are in the Ukraine, went on a brunch date, Ten is blonde now, the new ship name is TxT, and Ten finds it (something) romantic? Thank you! I'm glad I have some behavior to support my suspicions because I was going mostly off his mannerisms which I wouldn't exactly call effeminate or flamboyant, but like dramatic flair? The way he carries himself and addresses other people comes off kinda divaish...and I'm here for it. I also watched one of their music videos where they have all these hot girls hanging off of them and he was not selling it AT ALL. Isn't Chaejin friends with Key? I feel like he's been brought up before in reference to him. The Unit has been a blessing in drawing my attention to all these other idols to be speculated on. I need more tea on MVP Rayoon. He gets no screen time but some of the behind the scenes material and A.C.E. Jun revealing that Rayoon kissed him and he got flustered is eyebrow raising.
  15. I'm bad at keeping track of receipts but there have been interviews where when Ren has been asked about his feminine styling he said he liked it and enjoyed the attention he got from men who thought he was a woman. There have also been instances where the group has hinted at him not being straight. There was one appearance on After School Club where they bring up the ships and fanfics, and when either Eric or Kevin specifically said "male-male relationships" they all shot knowing looks to Ren and Aron gave him a "it's alright" hug. Granted they could have done that because like 90% of the Nu'est material involves Ren with one of the other members, but it was a still suspicious and it seem like they quickly switched gears. There was also this moment with the lie detector: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0P2yXgoNIXw Baekho was clearly trying to set Ren up to fail the test and get shocked by asking which girl group caught his attention sexually, then JR tries to change the question to be merciful. Then when Ren gets shocked, JR is like "well this isn't accurate anyway." There's also how much he loves and admires Lady Gaga, especially Born This Way (his IG was bornthisren). They're a hard group to analyze though because they are pretty private, don't really have suspicious moments outside of the group, and post-PD101, they've gotten a lot more conservative and careful. Overall, I think Ren and JR are gay, Baekho gives me a bi vibe, Aron is probably straight, and Minhyun I can't read. Sidenote: Does anyone have anything on MYNAME Seyong from The Unit? I don't know what it is exactly about him that pings to me, but my gaydar goes of big time everytime I see him on screen even though he's not really saying or doing anything suspect?
  16. What "negative narrative" is being spread here though? The focus is on whether they are together or not, and chefsuke is only brought up in relation to Sehun. The cheating thing is also only brought up when someone comes in with the "he's married" hit-and-run as one of many scenarios that would not preclude them from having a relationship even if he was (which I doubt, because marriages are public record in most places and if you can dig up a random picture, you can dig up the wife's name). No one has ever suggested that he's taking advantage of Sehun either, so don't know where that came from. And this isn't directed specifically at you, but in general: why is this thread blamed for everything? Like some people act as though no one would ever speculate or think the people who get brought up here were gay if it weren't for us "projecting our fantasies/delusions/Western ideas." Now, no one would be jumping to conclusions and harassing chefsuke about his suspect relationship with Sehun if it weren't for us speculating on their public posts and stuff that didn't even originate on this thread? And one last thing I've wanted to rant about: just because you think two people might be mutually attracted to each other and/or may have something going on does not automatically mean you "ship" them. Like would anyone really put Sehun and Chefsuke together without all of the things suggesting that they may be in a relationship? People don't usually pair someone up with someone twice their age if they aren't primed to see a romantic relationship there. Sometimes a pair gets brought up not to prove they are a real couple but as an example of one or both's attraction to the same sex, and reasonable inferences and observations just get brushed off as delusional shipping. It's annoying.
  17. Exactly, it's strange that they spend so much time together when they have that large of an age gap and are in two totally different industries. They'd have to make an effort to continuously cross paths with each other and develop the kind of close relationship they have. In regard to chefsuke being married, I only doubt it because it is really brazen to be so out there with the trips, outings, skinship, etc., but there are a lot of dumbass dudes out here having very obvious affairs like they are trying to get caught or it could be a marriage of convenience so can't completely rule out the possibility.
  18. He got on my radar after the My Turn Dance Break competition when he went from "You Got Served" to "Paris Is Burning" in like 5 seconds. (starts at 1:22; for a bonus of Ji Hansol dropping into the splits start at 1:14) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcGT56_sLs4 On another note, I watched more clips of The Boyz Kevin and now I'm like 90% sure he's gay and I'm starting to get vibes from Jacob too.
  19. The funniest complaint was that we base all of our speculations on stereotypes, but their go to "oppa is straight" defense is "he's very manly" And they never come in to suggest that the likes of Daehwi or Jo Kwon are straight...
  20. It is, Beyonce has A LOT of gay male fans of all races, especially in the U.S./Canada. His Beyonce stanning is what really made him ping for me, because it's not like he just likes her music or has a crush on her, but like he really has a deep appreciation for her work. And Beyonce's work is like the epitome of black womanhood, especially Lemonade, which he said he was really into (and Western gay male culture appropriates heavily from black women). It's not definitive, but I have never met a straight man that into Beyonce like that. He also gets more suspect points for that comment about "Move" challenging gender norms as something he found noteworthy about it. I haven't seen him act suspicious with any guy, but he gives off the vibe like he's a careful person and wants attention to be on his singing and otherwise flies under the radar.
  21. Girl, to determine the probability of something, you need to have stats, and there are no solid statistics on sexuality, especially for the idol population. Idols also self-select into the industry either by auditioning or accepting a street casting offer, they aren't born into this profession at random, so the point you made about an industry being different from a friendship group is moot. And what person here has said the majority of multiple groups are gay? A bunch of people come here and post opinions on the same handful groups and many of them overlap, but that by no means translates to this thread as a whole, like we're some kind of hivemind, believes that all of BTS, EXO, and whoever else are all gay. It's these gaps in logic around here that are really bringing this thread down.
  22. If your gut instinct says to stay offline to avoid pictures/video, follow it. I'm pretty good at keeping it together with other people's grief, and it was hard to witness, so if you are really raw, exercise self-care and go with your better judgement.
