I've been wondering for awhile, but what is MoMo X?
-
I'm so happy they're doing well. Longevity is always a beautiful thing to see and the rising of the charts is awesome. I almost wish the japanese debut was pushed back by a few days.
-
The new song and album are great. I'm satisfied by this comeback, I hope TFTMN maintains longevity on the charts.
-
Ok, that's good. I'm going for vacation soon, so I want to get my orders in before I leave.
-
Somber songs from boy groups like S*prin* D*y, F*ct*on and F*act, R*iny D*ys, that song from B*A4 are the ones that tend to do well and they tend to have a dreamy sound as well. I can't remember any girl group in the last 5 years doing well with a full ballad title track. I am going to be optimistic, hope for the best and wait for the teaser before I judge, but I don't want the title track to be a ballad. I'm hoping that it's a powerful, whimsical, dreamy song.
-
This is what I'm hoping for.
-
edit: Double Post. But anyways, isn't pre-orders coming out soon as well?
-
I'm really excited to see which producers they are working with on this album.
-
I agree. I think Source has done a good job of slowly hyping up the return of the girls. The slow confirmation of April 30th alone kind of drove me crazy a bit, but they did their job in making me more excited. Plus, the dreamy concept feels refreshing.
-
If, it is Iggy I hope fans won't be mad. I would be happy if it's him and I would be happy, if it's not him. At the end of the day, I just want someone that understands Gfriend's style, inject something new in there and will make a nice song for them that the fans and public will love.
-
I am so excited. The dreamy, power chic concept already sounds amazing.
-
Is it solely Source handling their japanese promotions or is Source letting King Records handle their japanese promotions right now?
-
Their line live was very funny. But, if Gfriend get to meet those former SMAP members that will be extra awesome. I never thought I would put SMAP and Gfriend together in the same sentence.
-
Popteen is still a relevant magazine and I've never heard of a kpop girl singer appearing as an exclusive model ever for this magazine. I think this is somewhat a big deal.
-
I'm really happy for them. I need Rough or Navillera to be an anime opening or ending song. ------------------------------------ Anyway, the japanese translation website that I got the jnetz comments are from PingJapan. I think it's overall pretty positive compared to a lot of other kpop posts by jnetz. The fact that the top comment is positive and it's from Yahoo Japan(one of Japan's biggest news portals) and not some forum gives me more hope that they'll do well. http://pingjapan.blogspot.ca/2018/03/gfriend-to-release-japanese-album-in-may.html GFRIEND To Release Japanese Album In May Gfriend held a press conference and a premium showcase in Japan on the 28th where they announced they’ll be releasing their Japanese album on May 23rd titled ‘From today we are~ GFRIEND 1st BEST~’ (Source: Yahoo Japan) 1. [+315, -53] Welcome to Japan! GFRIEND. I’m really happy you girls decided to debut in Japan(^_^) 2. [+77, -17] We don’t want some robots. 3. [+49, -13] Their white socks, strap shoes and retro outfits kinda remind me of Nog*z*ka in their early days but their skirts are too short and their makeup is too dark so it just feels off wwww 4. [+17, -44] As expected from the adorable Yeoja Chingu! I’m so happy they’re debuting in Japan! They’re talented singers so they’ll do a great job, plus Yeoja Chingu has lots of fans even in Japan(^-^) Don’t only continue to be cute. Please do amazing as a beautiful Yeoja Chingu 5. [+49, -7] Who? 6. [+38, -7] Their fans in Japan… seem like just foreigners? 7. [+26, -4] Even Japanese people are calling them ‘who’. Go back home soon 8. [+20, -2] I was surprised when I first seen them and all of them looked like they had the same face. Do they all have the same looking mannequin face because of plastic surgery? Anyways, their songs were nice to listen to and they do have a talent for singing. I wonder if they’ll get popular here?? 9. [+15, -2] Actual Japanese fans > foreigners living in Japan 10. [+5, -1] Don’t come back.

They all look A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. My bets are a comeback on April 16th or the 23rd. I want a light, groovy dancepop song with some energy, but with a less staccato feeling as Fingertip. Most importantly, who is going to be producing the title track?
-
They are so busy with a lot of activities for their Japan debut. I think there is a press conference on March 28th coming up in Japan. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I prefer a late April/early May or June korean comeback. I don't want them to feel rushed or feel pressured to compete. I want them to be relaxed and just come out with another great song and album. Source is actually working extremely hard in building a j-fandom with all these events before the official release compared to what I've seen from a lot of other kpop groups/companies in the past several years. It may not be a super big success, but I can say they tried hard. I hope all Buddies just hang on and anticipate the korean album release and are ready to stream when the time comes.
-
Maybe, they could release a pre-release song?
-
I wonder, if any of the girls will be dropping more OST music this year? I would like to hear more OSTs from everyone this year.
-
I think a korean comeback will be either in late April or middle of June. I can wait either way, I keep repeating myself, but I just want Source to properly tease and market this comeback. I don't want just a week of promos before they drop their music. I want a solid two weeks of them doing interviews, fan events, dropping interesting music teaser, vlives, etc.. that will get the public super interested. It has to feel like a big event. I think they'll drop an album and then the girls will release a repackaged album afterward and then maybe, we'll get a late winter korean comeback.
-
I'm really happy that they are getting events before their debut. They are going to be performing in settings where casual fans will develop interest in them first and hopefully be curious enough to listen to their music and support them. Yeah, I think all those events will be good for public exposure. From what I can remember, I think Popteen along with Ranzuki is still one of the few popular niche magazines for teenage girls in Japan, so they'll probably hype their performance up a bit. It's good that they are targeting female fans. Wow, they are so sweet. I hope the girls do end up attending some music shows in Japan this year. That song was kind of going through my head as well when I thought of mixed girl crush/power innocent concept. It has that happy, upbeat vibe, but it sounds slightly mature in a way. I think a song like this with a very catchy chorus and hook would do well.
-
I think for their next korean comeback, a concept that is in the middle of girl crush and power innocent would suit them. I've always thought that Navillera music-wise kind of fit in that category. I've noticed a lot of releases this year from kpop ggs have been kind of dreamy or a bit too "loud" in a way that feels a bit all over the place . A nice, high energy dance-pop song tied with a concept that's a mixture of girl crush and power innocent would do well imo.
-
ah, they were kind of already being compared to akb by a few jnetz. It's not definitive proof of anything, but the idea was out there. 1. [+48, -56] I really want them to debut in Japan (^_^) 3. [+13, -12] These talented kids have great songs especially when they're alone. They're called "A*B ripoffs", but A*B can do these amazing songs and dances because they're in A*B. I think they're more suited for Japan than T***E. http://pingjapan.blogspot.ca/2017/12/gfriend-successfully-sells-out.html The rest of the comments are rude, so I won't post them. Like, you said they are labelmates, so I hope there will be some nice cross-promotion and there won't be any ill will from fans. ----------------------- Another reason why I'm glad they are under King is that they don't region block like other labels.
-
This is such a good sign. So many groups don't really mediaplay well when they go to Japan and the general pop don't really know their existence. I'm very happy that their label is going hard in pushing them. The usage of A*B48 may attract good or bad attention, but at least it's attention that will initially grab people into wondering who they are in the beginning of their debut.
