the sad thing is that we ARE open to apologies, we're open to being proven wrong about your regret of how the situation was handled, but so far pineapple is the only mod/admin who has shown genuine remorse for what happened. the rest of you have tried to place yourselves, the people with power, as victims talking to a "brick wall" and used boring excuses without addressing the actual issues. grow the fuck up. take responsibility.

i don't have the time or energy to break down how insincere this apology is, but honestly, how many times can we say "sorry you were offended" isn't an actual apology before people actually get their heads out of their martyr complexes

for those of you who weren't there when this went down & are saying that we're looking for fights, lol. the post that started this all: proof of it remaining up: this post, equating people on the gay thread to being pedophiles (also: they weren't even discussing minors in the first place, but an 18 & 19 y/o) was left up for HOURS (these times all in EST) after the thread was "cleaned up," aka defensive posts—a lot of which from lgbt minors defending their rights & experiences—were deleted en masse. that has not been addressed or apologized for, even though multiple users repeatedly brought it to the mods' attention. this is NOT something we're exaggerating, this is intentional manipulation. idk what else to say.

I want someone to help me understand, what is this urge some of you have to constantly brush under the rug valid concerns of the MAJORITY of onehallyu & act like we're "misconstruing" a statement that aligned lgbt people with pedophiles? mocking aside, this is a non-apology. saying "sorry you guys are offended" doesn't acknowledge the harms of this decision that we all know is almost impossible to enforce site-wide. ban the men who talk about underage female idols. close the bar. there are many ways to ACTUALLY decrease the sexualization of minors on this website, and this isn't one of them, because no one is doing that on the thread anyway.
