So I'm trying to put today in context and I'm struggling. I've been a kpop fan for 7 years and have seen some pretty impressive digital and physical performances over those years and I've seen the #1 boy group change hands once, and I've seen the birth of the Nation's Girl Group as well. But this.... this feels different somehow? Like, we all know that EXO had an unbelievable year last year and it kinda seemed impossible to top, but here they are.... doing it all over again and doing it bigger. For some reason, this feels like the start of a new era, like, the TRUE beginning of the next era in kpop. EXO have just blown (what I thought were my ridiculously optimistic expectations) out of the water with a title track that had been leaked a MONTH before release and an album that had to go through a similar delay and risk people losing interest. And they've just totally slayed the entire industry in like 8 hours. I'm just kinda stunned

A melon roof hit is basically when a song explodes on the digital chart and goes beyond the normal rankings. It doesn't happen a whole lot in general, is basically unheard of for boy groups (only Big Bang and Beast have done it), and.... impossible for SM boy groups. EXO just kinda smashed all those stereotypes out of the water, by have THREE (maybe even 5) songs hit the melon roof (and Overdose has now hit it twice).

Can we just take a minute to appreciate The Underdogs (who produced the entire album) Like, this is some next level shit from EXO - this mini is basically as close to perfection as they come, it's production is flawless. Thunder is legit my favorite kpop song of 2014, already Moonlight is BEAUTIFUL - just fucking stunning Overdose is their best title track LIKE........................................... idk guys I'm just so happy I stan EXO right now - their discography is turning out to be the strongest in SM and that's coming from someone who's stanned SM groups since 2007 I'M A MESS OF EMOTIONS OVER THIS MINI
